PLEASE NOTE! WE ARE A TEXAS BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN TEXAS AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO YOUR STATE ONCE ADOPTED. Our app can be found at haydudeequine.org **Meet Huckleberry** Huckleberry is a super goofy, 7-month-old boy with a heart full of sunshine and a personality that can’t help but make you smile. At 30 pounds and still growing, this happy pup is expected to mature into a medium-sized dog—big enough to keep up with adventures, but still the perfect size for snuggles on the couch. From the moment you meet him, Huckleberry’s joyful energy is impossible to miss. He greets the world with a silly grin, a wagging tail, and pure enthusiasm for life. Water is one of his greatest loves—whether it’s a kiddie pool, a sprinkler, or just a splashy bath, he lights up at the chance to get wet and play. People are his other favorite thing. He adores human company and has a natural gift for making friends. He’s wonderful with kids, gentle and playful around other dogs, and even gets along great with horses. If you’re kind and ready for a loyal companion, Huckleberry is already halfway in love with you. His story has a bittersweet beginning. Huckleberry came from a litter of eight puppies, but a long, scorching Texas summer and the harsh reality of parasites took most of his brothers and sisters. He’s one of the lucky ones who made it through, and that resilience shows in the big, goofy heart he carries every day. He doesn’t dwell on the hard times—he just keeps choosing joy, play, and connection. If you’re looking for a water-loving, people-adoring, endlessly happy pup who will fill your home with laughter and loyalty, Huckleberry just might be the perfect match.

Story
When I was born, I assure you I didn't want to grow up to be left in a high kill shelter, however, that is what happened to me. LUCKILY, the fates (and some awesome rescue folks) aligned and saved me from certain death and brought me to a safe place where I can find a REAL family and a REAL home. Let me tell you about myself, I am cute, happy, loving, nervous at times, but have the long legs of a pointer! I have lots of energy for running, jumping and playing and I have the handsome chiseled jaw that most actors would love to have! Now if you need a great looking chap, look my way!!! ADOPT...........DON'T SHOP!!! My LIFE depends on it!!! Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Thanks to a generous grant from the Grey Muzzle Organization, combined with an additional donation from a generous sponsor, my adoption fee is sponsored! My new family can take me home for $0! Meet Leo! Leo is an 8-year-old, 80-pound Pointer mix with a heart just as big as his long legs, looking for an adopter! While we're not exactly sure what breeds make up his mix, one thing is certain—there's definitely something much larger like Labrador Retriever than your average Pointer in there. This handsome guy loves having plenty of room to stretch out, especially when he's relaxing near his favorite people. Leo's superpowers include being an excellent canine companion (he gets along wonderfully with other friendly dogs), faithfully announcing when the mail has arrived, and doubling as a personal space heater—this boy is a furnace when it comes to cuddles! Leo currently takes a daily Prozac which he took to help him feel more comfortable around an energetic toddler, though he lived happily without medication for his first five years in the home. He will be ready to wean off the medication after adoption. Leo loves his daily walks and enjoys following every scent along the way. Spot a squirrel? Be prepared—he has a strong pull! Despite his enthusiasm, if he actually caught one, he'd probably just try to make friends, so hunting isn't exactly his calling. This smart boy is fully house-trained, knows his commands exceptionally well, and is convinced he understands English. He's mastered every treat puzzle he's been given in record time! Food is definitely the way to Leo's heart. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate best friend who loves to snuggle, keep you warm, and be by your side, Leo is ready to fill that role. This gentle giant is looking for a family that will appreciate his sweet personality, give him room to stretch those long legs, and enjoy years of love and companionship together. Leo is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is sponsored. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
