Story
Ruby is an adorable, energetic sweetheart who's looking for a family who can match her enthusiasm! Ruby is a 2-year-old Pointer x Jack Russell Terrier mix that came to us from an elderly owner who can no longer care for her due to health issues. We're finding that Ruby does best when she's involved in an active family lifestyle, including long daily walks. In the time that we've had her, she's enjoyed playing with a variety of toys and going on outdoor adventures- she likes to make everything into a game! Ruby is house- and crate-trained. However, she pulls while on walks and requires a training harness at the moment. She will also require willingness to work on obedience training, as her previous owner was not physically capable to train her on basic commands. We've begun to train her on the basics and, with right treats, she's a star pupil! She has been very friendly in introductions to people and other dogs, but we're not sure of how she'll do with cats and other small animals.

She's been with the family for her entire life 13 years. Great family dog. So sweet and kind. Not as energetic as she used to be. My parents are older and have major health issues. We need to place her by November 4th. We really don't want her to be in a bad situation. I took a flight to help them until we placed her. Thanks for your assistance in this matter it is really appreciated 👍

This gorgeous hound has been with us for quite some time. He does not "show" well, because once he is comfortable in an environment and knows it as his home, he can be defensive and protective when meeting new people/strangers. Once he knows and trusts you (which doesn't take long at all), he is such terrific dog! He's not destructive, he's housetrained, affectionate, happy, and playful. He loves to lay in the sun and loves being outdoors. He generally does well with other dogs, but does NOT share food or toys well, so that must be monitored. He just needs an special owner who understands how to introduce him to new people and lead him properly.

He enjoys toys, chew bones, and hanging out with his people, but he also has a playful side and would love another dog to romp around with or a couple of walks each day to burn off some energy. He walks well on a leash and is doing great with both crate training and house training. Cooper gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and kids, making him an easy fit for many different kinds of families. He’s neutered, fully vaccinated, and ready to find a forever home of his own. 🐾
