Story
Toby is a smart, sweet, and absolutely handsome guy who’s sure to steal your heart. He’s not just a looker—he’s got the personality to match. Toby has a knack for making doggie friends, though he takes a bit of time to warm up to new people. He’s a huge fan of playtime, especially when it involves a game of fetch or romping around with his canine buddies. This attentive boy is a quick learner who knows basic commands and listens intently, making you feel like he truly understands every word you say. He walks beautifully on a leash and is eager to please, making him a joy to take on strolls. Just say the word “walk,” and watch his adorable head tilt in excitement! Toby’s playful side shines through when he watches other dogs on TV—yes, he’s a fan of doggy entertainment! He’s also learning to enjoy car rides and has been making progress every day. While he may need some reassurance in certain situations, like hearing gunshots in the distance or encountering new people, he quickly relaxes with a little love and guidance. He’s a lovable, ball-chasing companion who thrives on attention and affection. If you’re looking for a smart, attentive, and playful pup to add to your family, Toby might just be the perfect match. Come meet Toby—he can’t wait to find his forever home! www.mostlymuttz.org https://facebook.com/mostlymuttz PA Kennel License: 10872 PO Box 406 Gilbertsville, PA 19525 ##909183##

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.6/16/25 Sancho Panza and his brother, Don Quixote, were strays and taken to a shelter. Unfortunately, their time was up at the shelter and they were going to be euthanized for space. Thankfully, we had spots open at the Arkansas Paws in Prison program, so we were able to take them into our rescue and place them at Paws in Prison!   We will continue to update this post as we receive more details and info on Sancho and how his training is going. He began at Paws in Prison on 6/9/25 so he will graduate the week of August 4th. We hope to have a home ready and waiting for him at that time!   Paws in prison is an amazing program where dogs are paired with inmates whom they are with 24/7 for 8 weeks. The inmates work with the dogs everyday on basic training, basic obedience, house training, leash training, etc. and even some tricks! They meet weekly with a certified dog trainer. This is a wonderful program and so beneficial for the dogs and the inmates!   Sancho is a good boy who is very food motivated and eager to learn, so training should come along nicely. He is very friendly and great with other dogs. Sancho has shown mild food aggression with his brother, which we are not sure if that is just because they are brothers or if he would be the same way with other dogs. This is something they will work on with him at Paws in Prison.  He does have some of the typical young pup behaviors like jumping for attention, etc. Paws in Prison will also work with him on this.    So far, Paws in Prison has said he is a very curious boy, friendly, and quick to learn. He has a freckled face and a white tipped tail!   He is young, about 7 months old. We do not know his breed but we believe he may be a Pointer mix. He currently weighs 37 pounds.    He is heartworm negative, microchipped, neutered, and UTD on vaccinations.     Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations.  Harrisburg, PA 2am Fridays Port Jervis, NY 5am Fridays  Southington, CT 8am Fridays  East Hartford, CT 11am Fridays  To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.Ivar was found dumped on a country road in the middle of nowhere. We cant figure out someone could dump such a wonderful dog, but here we are. Ivar is excellent with other dogs- he is very submissive and even goes the other way when other more dominant dogs try to assert themselves. He is very content to be low man on the totem pole. He is also wonderful with cats and is very gentle when playing with the cats and dogs in his foster home. To add the cherry on top, Ivar adores children! You really can't ask for more in a dog. Ivar is housetrained and crate trained. Hes medium energy level and doesn't require tons of exercise, but he does enjoy playing with kids, cats, and dogs, so he would love to have a home with some of any of those. Ivar is about 1-2 years old and weighs 65 lbs. His breed is purely a guess. He is fully vetted and ready to find a forever home! Located in Arkansas, but transport is available.
