For the latest updates on the mutts, follow us on Facebook: @muttlifewi Visit our website: Muttlife.org Meet Hamilton Hamilton’s story is one of second chances and resilience. This nearly 2-year-old Pointer mix originally came up from a Georgia shelter in February and was adopted right away. Unfortunately, due to unexpected health challenges in his previous home, his family was no longer able to meet his needs and he is now looking for a new forever family. He is now doing very well in a foster home with Mutt Life Dog Rescue in Wisconsin with no other dogs. Despite the changes he’s experienced, Hamilton is a loving, friendly, and affectionate dog who truly enjoys being with people. He is wonderful with all people and is described by his foster as a big sweetheart and an enthusiastic cuddler. He gets along well with dogs and enjoys playing, but also enjoys attention from his people. He is a goofy guy who is happy to do anything you are doing. Hamilton is potty trained, crate trained, and is working on leash manners. He enjoys his walks, settles well at home, and loves relaxing with his humans. He is what we call a “low rider” with short legs that add even more to his cuteness. He is a goofy and playful guy who loves attention and is looking for a second chance. He is neutered and up to date on vaccines and heart worm prevention, and he’s now ready to find his forever home. Age: Almost 2 years old Gender: Male (Neutered) Weight: 50lbs Breed: Pointer Mix Spayed/Neutered: Yes Potty Trained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Leash Manners: Good Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Not tested Good with Kids: Yes Hamilton has so much love to give and is looking for a calm, committed home where he can be someone’s special companion. She was previously in a very poor situation in Arkansas and came to us in rough shape — very dirty, with old wounds on her ears, and appearing to have had several litters of puppies. Based on her condition and history, it is likely she was used as a breeder dog for GSP puppies and discarded when she was no longer wanted. Despite everything she has been through, Molly is incredibly sweet, gentle, and resilient. Molly is listed as 4 years old on her paperwork and weighs about 50 pounds. She is heartworm negative and scheduled to be spayed soon. She is on the lower-energy side and has a calm, easygoing temperament. Molly is extremely loyal to her people and forms strong bonds. As she continues to feel safe, she is really coming out of her shell — becoming a little goofy and starting to play. Molly gets along well with other dogs, though she does not appreciate overly obnoxious or pushy dogs. She especially likes smaller dogs and puppies. She has done well at the dog park and at meet-and-greet events with lots of other dogs. She is not leash reactive, walks nicely on leash, and is very chill on outings. Molly is potty trained, crate trained, and understands household routines. She knows to ring the bell at the door when she needs to go outside. She settles nicely in her crate and has wonderful house manners. Age: about 4 years Gender: Female Weight: 50 lbs Breed: Pointer mix (best guess) Spayed: Scheduled soon Potty Trained: Yes (uses bell at door) Crate Trained: Yes Leash Manners: Good Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Not tested yet Good with Kids: yes Molly doesn’t need perfection — she needs stability, patience, and a family who will never give up on her again. In return, she will offer loyalty, affection, and steady companionship. She truly is a wonderful dog who deserves the very best next chapter. Story
Rylie is just about to turn 2, and she is a loyal and loving companion with that GSP energy that comes with. She is starting to get calm in the house as I work from home she will lay on the couch until we are ready to move. She does fine in a crate as well if I am gone for a while. She has grown up with a toddler playing with, two cats who she respects, and an Aussie. She does great by herself or with other dogs. Rylie works great with commands (sit, here, heal, wait) and has had about 2 months worth of training for hunting, however, her bird drive for a GSP is not the highest, and she needs a lot more time and confidence I think before she could hunt, if you are looking for a hunting dog she needs quite a bit more work. She is defiantly more on the shy side when introduced to new situations, but warms up quick As a family dog and friend she is the best, ready to cuddle, or go out for a run. As she is a GSP she will need to go to a more active family. She is AKC registered as well.
