Story
We are an elderly couple in our mid-70s and received a wonderful mixed-breed rescue dog over four years ago — a dog we named Grover. Due to unexpected health issues and the fact that we frequently travel to New York City to visit our children and grandchildren, we unfortunately need to re-home Grover. We want to make sure he gets a good home. Originally rescued from Oklahoma 5 years ago. Grover is friendly, enjoys being petted, and loves to be outside and catch balls. He has herding instincts so appreciates space to run and take walks (he is good on the leash). He will protect the home and owner (he does not like unexpected/unknown visitors at the door, or delivery people.) He knows basic commands (sit, down, stay). He does not jump up onto furniture or steal food. He is a medium-sized dog, about 50 pounds, and is about 6 years old. Grover is up to date on all vaccinations and had his annual check-up in June. Grover would fit best in a single-dog home, or with female dogs. He is good with our grandchildren. Unfortunately, we aren't in a position to keep Grover and want him in a good home.

Story
Meet Wanda! Wanda is a sweet girl who recently arrived to us as part of a puppy mill release and is now starting the journey of learning what it means to be safe, loved, and part of a family. As a puppy mill survivor, Wanda is still adjusting to a world that is very new to her. She may be shy or unsure when first meeting new people or experiencing new environments, but with patience and gentle encouragement, she is beginning to show her softer, more trusting side. Wanda is crate trained, which helps her feel secure, but she is not yet house trained and will need a patient family willing to help her continue learning with consistency and kindness. In her previous environment, Wanda lived around children and did well with other dogs. With slow, proper introductions, she would likely also do well with cats. Watching a puppy mill survivor discover the comforts of a home is a gradual but incredibly rewarding process. Every small step forward—whether it’s relaxing nearby, exploring a new space, or seeking out reassurance—represents meaningful progress. Wanda is looking for a calm, understanding home where she can continue to build confidence at her own pace. In return, she has the potential to become a deeply loyal and loving companion. If you have the patience and heart to help a shy dog blossom, Wanda may be the perfect addition to your family. Wanda is availible for foster to adopt within 30 minutes of our shelter while we complete her medical. All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough. Story
Meet Tim! Tim is a handsome Boston Terrier who is beginning a brand-new chapter in life after being released from a puppy mill. While his past may not have included many of the comforts and experiences that family pets enjoy, Tim has already shown us that he is both curious and incredibly resilient. Though we are still getting to know him, Tim approaches the world with quiet determination. New sights, sounds, and experiences can be a lot to take in, but he continues to surprise us with his willingness to explore and learn. Every day, he gains a little more confidence as he discovers that life can be full of kindness, comfort, and fun. Tim will likely thrive in a patient home that understands he may need time to adjust to life as a beloved companion. As he continues to blossom, his future family will have the rewarding opportunity to watch him experience all the joys of being a dog—from cozy beds and tasty treats to walks, playtime, and unconditional love. If you're looking for a sweet pup who deserves a fresh start and are willing to help him navigate this new world at his own pace, Tim may be the perfect addition to your family. All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough.
