Story
Toes is a unique and charming orange tabby with extra toes and an extra-special heart. As a true polydactyl (also known as a Hemingway cat) he’s got oversized paws and an endearing, gentle nature to match. Toes was rescued from a large cat colony in Costa Mesa where he learned to be cautious but kind, and now he’s adjusting to indoor life in foster care. He’s still shy and needs time to build trust, but Toes has been making slow, steady progress in his foster home. He especially enjoys the company of other cats and would thrive in a home with a confident, friendly feline companion who can show him the ropes and help him feel safe. While he currently lives with French Fry , a female brown tabby who is another shy cat, we believe Toes would do better when paired with a more outgoing buddy to help bring out his playful, affectionate side. Toes could be adopted with French Fry as long as the adopter knows they will have to work on socializing them daily and being patient, because they will come around with time. Toes is looking for a patient, cat-savvy adopter who understands that the best relationships are built slowly and lovingly. With a gentle hand and a feline friend by his side, Toes is sure to bloom.

Who's got 2 thumbs and is ready to find her furever home? This kitty! I'm a rowdy girl who loves play time and some good, old-fashioned treats. I've been described as a dog in disguise pretending to be a cat. I may be a little quirky, but I'm worth it. Just look at how cute I am! *Needs to live with another cat; adopt 2 cats through Kitty Corral for a discount* Come meet me in person at PetSmart Puente Hills!

Story
A volunteer was driving in Westminster and came across a cardboard box sitting underneath a parked truck with three kittens inside. A concerned neighbor had been feeding the kittens for a few weeks while trying to find them somewhere to go with no luck. He said the mother cat had been hit by a car a couple weeks earlier, and her kittens were left. All three kittens were out in the freezing, cold rain trying to fend for themselves. Unfortunately, this compassionate neighbor had too many animals to adopt them himself. Poly is a friendly and affectionate cat. He loves people, enjoys pets and cuddles. Poly is also unique in that all four of his paws are polydactyl. This means Poly has six or more toes on each paw, rather than the normal five toes. Cats with polydactyl paws have better balance because they have wider, larger paws allowing them to hunt and climb more efficiently. Another interesting item about polydactyl cats is that they were a favorite of Ernest Hemingway. Mr. Hemingway received a polydactyl feline from a ship’s captain by the name of Snow Ball and subsequently developed a true love for multi-toed cats. His home in Key West, Florida was transformed into a museum after this death and about half of the cats that reside there are polydactyl. FHV-1 is very common, in fact almost all cats are exposed to FHV-1 as kittens, either by their mother or by another cat. Up to 80% of cats develop a hidden (referred to as dormant or latent) infection and become carries of FHV-1 for life. In many cats, this causes no problems. But sometimes feline herpes returns occasionally throughout the cat's life, especially in times of illness or stress. Just as some people get repeated Herpes cold sores, some cats will repeatedly get corneal (eye) ulcers or have chronic (long term) sneezing or nasal congestion. Our vet believes he may grow out of the symptoms especially if he is taken out of the high stress shelter environment. Poly is a special boy that really deserves a home! He’d love it even more if his brother Marco (his snuggle buddy) could come along! Please apply to adopt Poly at www.AALOC.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Poly and get to know him a bit. Adoption donation includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. Applications require a veterinary reference and home visit. We adopt to residents of Orange County, CA and surrounding areas. Please note: For families with children, we require children to be 10 years of age or older, although exceptions are made depending on the circumstances. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! Luke is now just over a year old.  He had been adopted by a young couple who was not in a stable residence.  They moved into an apartment complex that does not allow pets.  They gave away the pup they adopted and threw Luke out to survive on his own.  He had only been an indoor cat to this point.  Another rescuer who was doing TNR at the apartment complex contacted us when they found his chip.  Luke is lucky to have had the force with him.  He came back with giardia and severe diarrhea.  He is now thriving in his foster home.Luke Skywalker was rescued as an underage kitten by animal control and came to Paws for placement. He was a lonely, sick kitten being picked on by heartless juveniles until a passerby stuck him in a bush for safe-keeping. Finally, someone heard his cries for help and called animal control. Clearly, Luke had the force with him! Now healthy and playful, Luke is ready to be the jedi of your heart! The force is strong with this one!The adoption fee includes being spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and worms, current shots and being chipped.  We also pay for the initial chip registration.  Adoption events are held Sundays at the Fontana Petco 12-4pmCat Adoption Application Link:  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/32024/genericVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Apply on-line using the link to our application.  Please be sure to use the species specific application for a dog or cat.  Adoption events are held every Sunday, excluding holidays, at the Fontana Petco.  The Fontana Petco is located at the corner of Sierra and Sierra Lakes Parkway, just off the 210 freeway, March 21, 2025, 7:04 am
