Toes is a unique and charming orange tabby with extra toes and an extra-special heart. As a true polydactyl (also known as a Hemingway cat) he’s got oversized paws and an endearing, gentle nature to match. Toes was rescued from a large cat colony in Costa Mesa where he learned to be cautious but kind, and now he’s adjusting to indoor life in foster care. He’s still shy and needs time to build trust, but Toes has been making slow, steady progress in his foster home. He especially enjoys the company of other cats and would thrive in a home with a confident, friendly feline companion who can show him the ropes and help him feel safe. We believe Toes would do better when paired with a more outgoing buddy to help bring out his playful, affectionate side. Toes's adopter needs to know that they will have to work on socializing him daily and being patient, because he will come around with time. A lady on Next Door reached out to our rescue partner and asked if she could help a kitten. She was found in a bush alone in Torrance, Ca. SHELL was feisty and so small. Meet SHELL, a reserved three-year-old Diluted Calico Maine Coon from Torrance, California whose soft, pastel-toned fur reflects her gentle and quiet nature. With her long, fluffy coat that blends soft grays, creams, and whites, SHELL is a picture of elegance and grace. She may be shy at first, often preferring to observe her surroundings from a cozy, tucked-away spot, but with a little patience, she begins to open up in her own delicate way. SHELL has a refined personality and will allow pets—but only on her terms. She enjoys gentle head scratches and soft strokes when she's feeling comfortable, making her a true cat who values her independence. She’s skittish with sudden movements or new situations, but given time, her cautious curiosity will win out, and she’ll be quietly near, soaking up the calm energy of her environment.
