Story
Chester – ID #18758 – Kennel #322 – Arrived May 5th (Stray) – Chihuahua Mix – Brown and White – Male – 8 Years Old – 9.3 lbs – Up to Date on Vaccines – Heartworm Positive Meet Chester, an eight-year-old Chihuahua mix who arrived at Cobb Animal Services as a stray on May 5th. He is an absolutely adorable little boy — warm brown with a soft cream muzzle and chest, oversized ears that frame his face perfectly, and the most enormous, soulful brown eyes you have ever seen. One look at that face — those enormous eyes, those oversized ears — and it is impossible not to smile. Chester is scared right now, as any small dog in a shelter would be — but here is the wonderful thing: he warms up quickly. This is not a dog who will keep you waiting long. Offer him a tasty treat and he will sit right up and show you exactly who he is — a sweet, charming little guy who already knows how to work a room. He is good with other dogs and good with children, making him a wonderful fit for all kinds of homes. Chester is heartworm positive. If you live in Georgia, Cobb Animal Services will cover the entire cost of heartworm treatment if you adopt him. You simply need to bring him back for his scheduled treatment appointments and give the prescribed oral medication at home. Heartworms are not contagious between dogs. With proper treatment and care, heartworm-positive dogs can go on to live full, happy lives. A senior dog in a shelter is one of the great injustices in animal rescue. Chester has lived a full life and deserves to spend his remaining years wrapped in comfort, warmth, and love — not in a kennel. He is cute, he is sweet, he warms up fast, and he is ready to be someone's whole little world. Give Chester the second chapter he deserves. Story
Minnie is a precious 1 year old chihuahua terrier mix that was unfortunately surrendered to the shelter at no fault of her own. She thought she had her forever home but a small human in the family had allergies so she had to go. She’s super smart and eager to please, sits when asked and walks nicely on the leash. She’s up to date on her vaccinations, heartworm negative, spayed and microchipped. She’s also great with other dogs and children! Come meet this sweet baby in kennel 314, her ID is 16662.
