Story
Reese has been an integral part of my life for a long time. It’s sad that he has to be rehomed because I will miss him dearly. Reese joined our family about 10 years ago. We got him at Pet Express. He was the cutest little thing. He was so kind, friendly, and curious. He's an awesome companion. He does well with other small to medium dogs and children. He''s super playful, but loves to snuggle up under a blanket and take naps. He's very social but knows how to self occupy by playing with his toys. He is neutered and his shots will be up to date upon adoption. He’s smart and extremely affectionate so be ready for lots of love and empathy from him. There have been times I've cried and he would come over to comfort me. I think he’d be an amazing addition for an older couple or an older individual who is looking for a loyal companion that’s portable and loving.

Story
Meet Ruthie: senior in years, noodle in body, and professional couch hog 💕🐾 Ruthie is a 9lb, 11-year-old Chihuahua mix who somehow missed the memo about looking her age. She’s got the long, tall, lanky body of a tiny greyhound and just enough pep to keep life interesting—think “elegant senior with a playful streak.” She’s a quiet little lady who prefers peace and calm. Loud noises? Hard pass. Barking? Rare—but fair warning, when she does bark, it’s impressively loud for her size. Her absolute favorite place to be is on the couch with her foster mom, nose-to-nose, like they’re sharing top-secret gossip 😂. Ruthie is excellent in her crate and does wonderfully with routine. She can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but with a little time and gentle reassurance, she’s expected to grow more confident as she settles in. When it comes to exercise, Ruthie enjoys short strolls to sniff the neighborhood and stretch her long legs—marathons are not on her vision board. A cozy home, a comfy couch, and a person who appreciates a calm companion would be her dream come true. Ruthie is currently working on some reactivity issues. She does not like to be disturbed while she is sleeping and will let you know when she isn't happy with how you're touching or moving her. If you’re looking for a low-key best friend with a quirky body, Ruthie is the dog for you 💖 If you are interested in finding out more about Ruthie, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Ruthie is being fostered in Shrewsbury, MA. The adoption fee is $225. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
Meet Tucker: your biggest fan in a 14-pound package. 🩵🐾 Tucker is an almost 9-year-old Chihuahua with the sweetest heart and one very important life goal: to spend as much time as possible with his favorite human. Looking for a bathroom buddy? Tucker volunteers. Need someone to supervise laundry? He's on it. Running errands? He'd happily tag along. He doesn't have separation anxiety—he simply thinks life is more fun when you're together. This handsome little guy has been wonderful with adults, children, cats, and dogs. Because he's a smaller, sensitive fellow, he'd probably appreciate a home with kids ages 5+ who understand that little dogs deserve gentle handling and predictable routines. Tucker is house trained (as much as any respectable little male Chihuahua can claim!), walks nicely on a leash, and is impressively quiet. While he's perfectly polite with the resident dogs in his foster home, he's made it clear that people are really his favorite species. If given the choice between hanging out with another dog or soaking up your attention, Tucker is choosing you every single time. His favorite place in the house? Perched on the back of the couch like a tiny king, quietly watching his favorite person with what can only be described as complete admiration. It's equal parts adorable and heart-melting. Tucker does have a heart murmur that's being successfully managed with medication twice a day, and he'll need ongoing monitoring. It doesn't stop him from enjoying life or being the loving, loyal companion he was born to be. If you've been searching for a calm, affectionate little sidekick who will happily accompany you through the ordinary moments that make up everyday life, Tucker is ready to become your most devoted fan. All he asks in return is a little love, a comfy spot to perch, and the privilege of being wherever you are. 💙🐾 If you are interested in finding out more about Tucker, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Tucker is being fostered in Sutton, MA.
