Story
Nessie is a very sweet girl. She loves to go for walks and enjoys soaking up the sun during nice weather. Nessie is looking for a quiet home where she can be the center of attention. We have learned that this chihuahua would prefer to live with a woman, and does not care for men. Nessie loves who she loves, and does not care for new people reaching for, or trying to pet her. Nessie does bond strongly with her person, and is a wonderful companion for the right home. Nessie enjoys moving at a slow pace and meeting people that understand it takes time to get to know each other. An adult home only will be best for this little sweetheart. If you are viewing this dog's profile on Adopt-a-Pet and are interested in adopting, please head to our official website at www.worcesterarl.org to fill out a Dog Adoption Inquiry Form, which will be located under the dog's profile. All adoptions are by appointment, thank you.

Story
Mr. Tilly is a 12lb, exceptionally shy pup looking for a home who will help him adjust to a new life. Please read his entire bio before reaching out to the shelter. He is looking for an adult home only. Due to Mr. Tilly's shy personality, he is looking for a quiet home environment, and would not be suited to large apartment complexes at this time. He will require multiple meets at the shelter with patient, adult adopters able to visit him at WARL  before he is ready to go to a new home. In his case, his shyness and fear of new people could cause him to snap at people who reach out to touch him before he is ready. Mr. Tilly is looking for a home as an only dog. This shy guy is looking for just the right fit, in a quiet home with gentle people who can appreciate how tough it can be to be left wandering, as he was found as a stray in Worcester with no owner coming forward to claim him. Mr. Tilly has trouble bonding with new people, but is lovely with the staff who care for him. He does not want to be petted or picked up by new people, just given some space to observe and relax without being overwhelmed by attention. Mr. Tilly does have complex medical needs that will require an adopter able to provide him with ongoing veterinary care.  Once Mr. Tilly makes friends, he is very sweet and bouncy, and needs folks who understand dog body language and also don't require a dog to instantly adore them. If you are interested in meeting Mr. Tilly, please fill out the Dog Adoption Inquiry Form to request a meet with him. All adoptions are by appointment, thank you!

Story
This handsome, senior gentleman is Valentine! Valentine is a special guy as he is mostly blind and partially deaf. Once Valentine is comfortable, he loves to sit on his person's feet, and be cuddled, so he is definitely a dog that will be underfoot. Valentine really just loves companionship and touch. He can be a little protective meeting new people. He weighs about 8 lbs. and has his own voice! He will bark to see where his people are, and to let them know he would like their company. Valentine is about 12 years old and is looking for a home that will enjoy his need to cuddle, and he would like that home to be without other dogs. Valentine might be able to live with cats who stay away from his food! Valentine could live with older teens who can understand that he needs to be gently handled. If you are interested in meeting Valentine, please head to our website worcesterarl.org and click on his photo to fill out a Dog Adoption Inquiry. That is the first step! All meets are by appointment, thank you!

Story
Meet one-year-old Charlie, an adorable Chihuahua. Charlie is a sweet and affectionate 10 pound pup who fully loves cuddling with his human. Charlie really enjoys running outside with the resident dog. His foster reports Charlie and the resident dog read each other well! We believe he would do continue to thrive in a home with a resident canine playmate. Charlie can be timid around strangers and has separation anxiety. His first night found him very vocal about being downstairs on his own. A patient adopter who can give him space and structure will help ease this anxiety. Charlie's foster report that beyond the initial anxious vocalizing, he is very quiet and doesn’t bark at noises, people entering the room/house. Charlie is good with older children who will read his cues and respect his space. He loves toys, and is a great cuddle buddy! Charlie is mostly house-trained but does need a pee pad or wrap overnight. Please check back frequently to learn more about Charlie as he settles into his foster home. Soon his personality will blossom, like the May flowers. If you are interested in finding out more about Charlie, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSczvJ1rCy-kzn1uOYcj2j1CdhC08dGVTKyhktvUOT1ocXDiwQ/viewform Charlie is being fostered in Worcester. Adoption fee: $500. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
Adelaide is the cutest senior around. She loves to run around the house (and yard) with the cutest senior waddle and flopping ears. She loves to snuggle up on the couch and watch TV with you! And she especially loves going on walks when the weather's nice (in her stroller of course!) Here's Addie's wish list for her retirement home: - Someone who can take her on stroller rides and hang outside in the yard when the weather's nice - Teenagers or adults only please. They just know how to kick back and relax - Open to sharing her home with feline friends or like minded dog friends! - A patient family who doesn't mind finishing her potty training (she's already doing so much better!) Adelaide was found as a stray. She's about 12 years old and unfortunately we do not know her history. She doesn't seem to have much experience outside (can be a little nervous of inclement weather, learning how to walk on a leash, house training) so she's looking for a patient family who knows that old dogs can learn knew tricks ;) If you think Addie girl could be the sweet senior for you, please reach out day!
