Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog? http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html *****************   Chihuahua Mix Male (neutered) - Adult Looking for that smart, funny guy that can go anywhere and considers new adventures the very best thing in life?  Just pick up a leash and Ace starts dancing around ready to roll. And speaking of rolling, rolling around on the couch or in bed is probably his second most favorite thing to do.  So expect to share both with him and expect to laugh. Treats can also be used to persuade him in to learning cute tricks and are expected when he heads to his crate because that's what a good boy does. Want a dance partner, Ace is your guy. He can do the best little hind leg twirling. He also does love to give soft kisses and snuggles and his coat is so soft, who wouldn't want to snuggle with him. He also watches and is incredibly smart, he may think he is a bit human too.  Ace is a 2-3 years old chihuahua/spitz mix who is fully vetted. Crate trained but not his favorite thing and remember the treat. Potty trained, set ground rules about marking when he enters his new environment and he is smart so knows its not allowed. He has a voice and is not a barker but probably not the best for an apartment. Ace is good with canine family members (a little loud when he plays).  Cats are ok too.  **BECAUSE OF OUR REQUIREMENT FOR A HOME VISIT, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO ADOPT TO HOMES IN THE NORTHERN VA / MARYLAND / DC METRO AREA** We have adoption events EVERY SATURDAY from 12-3 p.m. Please note that not all dogs can attend every event, so if you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please complete a no-obligation application on our website at http://www.muttloverescue.org/application.html OR write to adopt@muttloverescue.org. Introducing, Daisy! Daisy was surrendered to a rural shelter with her two chi-sisters. Their owner lost him home and they were living out in his car. Despite losing her home, Daisy is quick to bond to her person! Daisy is 12 years-young and 7 lbs. This girl is tiny but mighty! She fell in love with her foster dad almost immediately. You can literally see the heart emoji's flying out of her eyes when she looks at him. :) She walks well on leash, is good about using pee pads, and is working on communicating when she needs to go outside. Daisy is happiest when she is being held and cuddled! Daisy recently had a dental and lost EIGHTEEN of her teeth. She only has three teefs left but feels so much better and her breath is way less stinky. :) Interested in learning more about Daisy? KNOWN WITH CATS: He is fostered with one and loves to playfully chase the cat, but not hurt him in any way! KNOWN WITH KIDS: He’s fostered with kids and does GREAT. KNOWN COMMANDS: Still learning but does go outside and knows his name! KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: Peppy is housebroken and goes outside to do his business quickly. He will have the occasional accident if he’s not put out in time – he seems to really like to go out in 4 hour increments during the day if possible. KNOWN LIKES: Playing, treats, napping, chewing and romping in the sun. KNOWN DISLIKES: None know so far. ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Peppy is easy and great, very snuggly, playful, follows directions, has a healthy appetite, potties right away when he goes outside, and will walk with his foster mom around the yard without a leash. He's a great little dog and he bonded with his foster mom and with her dog. He would do well with another dog to buddy up with and/or with a person who will let him sleep in their bed and snuggle a lot. He enjoys chasing the foster cat (silly dog) but the cat does not care and he does no harm. Peppy is one cutie patootie – can he be yours??
