And speaking of rolling, rolling around on the couch or in bed is probably his second most favorite thing to do.  So expect to share both with him and expect to laugh. Treats can also be used to persuade him in to learning cute tricks and are expected when he heads to his crate because that's what a good boy does. Want a dance partner, Ace is your guy. He can do the best little hind leg twirling. He also does love to give soft kisses and snuggles and his coat is so soft, who wouldn't want to snuggle with him. He also watches and is incredibly smart, he may think he is a bit human too.  Ace is a 2-3 years old chihuahua/spitz mix who is fully vetted. Crate trained but not his favorite thing and remember the treat. Potty trained, set ground rules about marking when he enters his new environment and he is smart so knows its not allowed. He has a voice and is not a barker but probably not the best for an apartment. Reddi Whip is a beautiful little girl looking for a forever home where she will get love and attention. She is great with house training  and making good progress --consistency is key. She came to us from a shelter in Mississippi. She is an active, friendly, playful pup. True to her breed, she enjoys chasing the birds at the feeder and will play with her foster pack of five.  A Chewing a bone will keep her occupied , as well as playing with “squeaky” toys.  Reddi sleeps in her crate through the night. She has  been fostered with cats and  has learned to co-exist.  She currently is living with other pups of all ages & sizes and loves them all . She is a true snuggle bug and a sweet heart . Sidney came to AFH from one of our rescue partners.  They were called by a Sheriff's Department in Florida to assist with a hoarding case involving '50 to 100' Chihuahuas.  When they arrived, there were over 200!  They were all living in a filthy mobile home surrounded by trash and feces. The trailer had no running water or electricity.  Our rescue partner said 'It was, honestly, one of the worst properties I've been on and I have been on some BAD ones.'  Thanks to our wonderful fosters we were able to rescue 8 dogs. Sidney was pregnant when she arrived to AFH. She has since had an emergency c-section on 10/30/24. Cassia has plenty of pep in her step and would love a home that can keep up with her goofy zoomies, toy-tossing sessions, and “look at me” moments that will have you in stitches. She’s got a whole lot of personality packed into her little frame, and she’s not afraid to show it off! She’s wonderfully social—great with kids, cats, and other dogs—and would especially benefit from a canine companion to help her run off some of that puppy energy (and join in her hilarious zoomie routines). After playtime, though, she’s all about the cuddles. She’s crate trained, housebroken, spayed, and up to date on vaccinations. -ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 13lbs -ESTIMATED AGE: 6 years -KNOWN WITH DOGS: Sam just joined our program and is getting settled in our foster program. He is living with another smaller dog foster sibling and so far reports are going well. -KNOWN WITH CATS: This is unknown at this time. Sam gives us reason to believe he would be great with just about any mellow pet! -KNOWN WITH KIDS: Sam's current foster home has kids ranging from 8+ and he has been doing great! -KNOWN CUES: We are still learning! -KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: So far Sam has shown that he has great house breaking habits and getting a great A+ in this area -KNOWN LIKES: He really enjoys just handing around, being part of the family, napping and lots of pets! -KNOWN DISLIKES: There isn't much we have learned he doesn't enjoy. Notes from the foster: Sam has bene through a lot as a mid age fella. While in foster care we are currently addressing some medical needs with his eyes at the moment. He has severe glaucoma that is causing him some discomfort. He is in great spirits living his best life in foster care while we work on addressing his medical plan. At this time we can comfortably state that Sam has limit to now vision in one or both of his eyes as well as limited hearing. He was found as a stray and brought to a shelter where a we were notified and brought him under our organization for continued care. We are searching for a family that would be comfortable loving a special boy that has limitations to vision and sight and willing to help him navigate these challenges after surgeries and treatment to ensure he has the best quality life possible!
