Story
Single, balding, middle aged, semi-retired, distinguished gentleman, seeking companionship: The name is Maxwell. My friends call me Max. Sometimes, they also call me an asshole. I'm looking for love again. Hopefully it still exists at my age. I'm 8 years old. Short, 18 pounds. I'm also a little bald but my skin matches my hair so your friends won't notice. It's the same concept as men who spray canned hair color on their bald spots. I'm Divorced. The last woman who loved me fled the country. My passport was no good so I couldn't go. Kinda sad. I do miss her. I'm in temporary housing so it's a real bonus if you have a pad where we can play house. I don't really like young children but I guess I could tolerate it for hours if you have visitors. I enjoy naps in the recliner and my favorite shows are British comedy and murder mysteries. I know my physical description doesn't sound great, but I'm not looking for Miss America or Mr. Olympia either. (btw, I go both ways) A good-looking companion is a bonus, but at this point it's not a requirement for me. I have a soft side and I do enjoy cuddling and taking long walks. I have my moments too. I can be grouchy and sometimes I can lash out but I'm working on that! Nobody is perfect. I'm sure you're not either, right? I'm opinionated and I don't want a lot of friends. I'd prefer to be the only fur fella so I can have all of your attention. I'm a GREAT listener as I don't have much to say. Poor your cocktail and tell me your life story. I can listen for hours. If you've gotten this far and didn't stop reading, then I feel like I might have a chance with you. The real deal details: Maxwell came to us when his owner had to move overseas and couldn't take him with her. He lived with her all 8 years of his life. He smart and would be a nice companion dog for the right adopter. He doesn't enjoy the company of young kids. Maxwell really loves his foster family, but he will act out if he is made to feel uncomfortable. He gets nervous if he thinks someone is going to do something to him that he doesn't like. He's a nipper when he feels unsafe. He will need an adopter that understand "small dog" attitude. This little guy still has a lot of love & life to give to some lucky adopter. He is housetrained and VERY easy going! He ignores the cats in his foster home. Maxwell is up to date on his vaccines, microchipped and neutered. ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from Canine and Kitties Rescue*** The adoption fee for this dog is $375.00, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Story
Please don't overlook me! This is Wally. He is approximately 3 years old and 19 pounds. Wally is a very sweet boy, but he didn't have a very kind start to life. He was raised in a hoarding home with lots of other dogs. He rarely received attention as there were too many dogs inside. Wally was rescued from that home and was very scared and nervous when he arrived at our rescue. Slowly but surely, he has learned to be comfortable with his foster family. He will need a quiet and loving home that understands he needs an adjustment time to trust a new family. He does great with the other dogs in the home. He likes the teenagers too. He has learned to walk on a leash but would need a quiet neighborhood or a home with a yard for him to explore. He is best suited in a home where he can see and mimic another confident dog. Wally is doing great with house training as long as he gets outside on a consistent basis. Wally is good in his crate when his foster mom has to go out and he sleeps in his crate at night. Wally is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and is neutered. ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from Canine and Kitties Rescue*** The adoption fee for this dog is $375.00, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Meet Knox - Knox is about 1 year old and weighs 9.5 lbs. Knox is a little shy at first, but warms up quickly. Knox loves the children in his foster home. He even enjoys helping with homework - lol. Knox is a typical small dog who loves his foster family, but he isn't a fan of new people coming to the house. He will need a household that doesn't have people coming in and out often. He likes his people and the rest can take a hike! Knox isn't a fan of the big dogs in his foster home so if there is a dog in his forever home, the dog should be the similar size as Knox. He very much enjoys running and playing with dogs his own size. Knox enjoys sniffing around the backyard and snuggling with his foster family on the couch. Knox is fully house trained and crate trained. Knox is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped. ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from Canine and Kitties Rescue*** The adoption fee for this dog is $375.00, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Want to meet ME?* Come to our adoption event this weekend: Sunday, March 3rd from 11:30-1:30 Dulles Landing Petsmart 24570 Dulles Landing Dr, #140 Dulles, VA 20166 Meet Jovie! Jovie is approximately 1.5 years old 15 lbs. We think Jovie is a Chihuahua mix. Jovie is the mom to 6 adorable puppies who are now old enough to go to their forever homes. Jovie was a GREAT mom, but now it is her turn to find her happily ever after. Jovie is a bit shy at first, but does warm up. Jovie will need a home with another young dog to play with and pal around with. Jovie is in a foster home with cats, but she does like to chase them when she is board, so we feel a home with no cats would be best. If there are children in her forever home they should be 7 years and up. Jovie's foster dad works from home so Jovie is used to having someone around most of the day. We feel she would do best in a home where she isn't alone all day. Jovie is full of love and ready for her forever home. Jovie is spayed, she is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped. ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from Canine and Kitties Rescue*** The adoption fee for this dog is $400.00, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Story
Biscuit's foster shared this about him: 'He is totally house trained. He goes to the door and whines if he wants to go potty. He also does not chew on anything or act aggressively with my three small older dogs. I leave him loose in the house when I need to leave for a few hours, and everything is fine when I return home. He will howl and whine for a few minutes if you leave him alone in a room and he can't follow you. He likes to sit in your lap or in a dog bed during the day. At night, he wants to sleep in your bed. You have to lift him on and off of the bed, he is overweight, and he needs assistance. He does not like crates. He loves to go on walks, and he wags his tail and does not bark if he sees another person walking their dog. He has a great personality, and he will suddenly do zoomies around the house and play with a soft dog toy, but that only lasts for a minute. It is very comical when it happens. I think he would do best in a home where someone is home for most of the day. He rides well in a car. Biscuit is in the process of losing weight. He is looking for someone in need of a chunky BFF.'
