Story
Sidney came to AFH from one of our rescue partners.  They were called by a Sheriff's Department in Florida to assist with a hoarding case involving '50 to 100' Chihuahuas.  When they arrived, there were over 200!  They were all living in a filthy mobile home surrounded by trash and feces. The trailer had no running water or electricity.  Our rescue partner said 'It was, honestly, one of the worst properties I've been on and I have been on some BAD ones.'  Thanks to our wonderful fosters we were able to rescue 8 dogs. Sidney was pregnant when she arrived to AFH. She has since had an emergency c-section on 10/30/24. Only one puppy was viable, but he is doing very well.  She is still wary of people, but has made great strides.   Sidney is working on housetraining, and is crate trained, and leash trained. Sidney's WISDOM PANEL results:  37% Chihuahua, 3% Toy Fox Terrier, 2% Miniature Pincher, 17% Chow Chow, 4% Siberian Husky, 3% Alaskan Malamute, 2% Kai Ken, 2% Chinese Shar-Pei, 7% Papillon,3% Shih-Tzu, 3% Toy Poodle, 7% German Shepherd Dog, 2% Collie, 4% American Pit Bull Terrier, 3% American Cocker Spaniel, 1% Labrador RetrieverAccuracy is not guaranteed; however, information provided is accurate to the best of our knowledge.  For more information on the pet, please send an email to info@aforeverhome.org March 16, 2025, 8:40 pm

Story
Daisy is a sweet little girl who gets along with other dogs and people.  She enjoys walks and exploring the back yard.  While good in a crate, she might not need it as she sticks to playing with dog toys, and does not get into things she shouldn't. She is on her way to becoming completely housetrained too.  If you like smaller dogs who like to snuggle and give kisses, Daisy is the right girl for you.Accuracy is not guaranteed; however, information provided is accurate to the best of our knowledge.  For more information on the pet, please send an email to info@aforeverhome.org November 9, 2025, 12:25 pm

Story
Introducing Cassia! 🐶😍 This 6-month-old Chihuahua/Husky mix is basically a walking ray of sunshine. With ears that look like they could pick up satellite signals and a smile that never quits, she’s equal parts silly and sweet. Cassia has plenty of pep in her step and would love a home that can keep up with her goofy zoomies, toy-tossing sessions, and “look at me” moments that will have you in stitches. She’s got a whole lot of personality packed into her little frame, and she’s not afraid to show it off! She’s wonderfully social—great with kids, cats, and other dogs—and would especially benefit from a canine companion to help her run off some of that puppy energy (and join in her hilarious zoomie routines). After playtime, though, she’s all about the cuddles. She’s crate trained, housebroken, spayed, and up to date on vaccinations. Cassia isn’t just looking for a home—she’s looking for a family (and maybe a furry sibling!) to laugh with, cuddle with, and love forever. 🐾❤️ RPACI is a non profit rescue, and currently possess our 501C3 to operate as such. Please visit us on Facebook: Rebecca's Paws and Claws in Remlap and our website: www.rpacirescue.org. All dogs from this rescue are transported from Alabama to the Pennsylvania/ New England/ Virginia area and delivered in Pennsylvania, Virginia and RI. Each dog will come fully vetted. Price also includes transportation and a Health Certificate as required by law. There is a 100.00 deposit required at the time of adoption to secure the transport crate. The remainder of the fee will be paid once you pick up the dog. Naturally the 100.00 comes off the total owed at pick up. It will be refunded if for any reason you decide you do not want to adopt, unless the transport has already left.with the dog. Story
IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit: Caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. ***Special adopter needed*** Meet Winter – The Chihuahua who doesn’t know she needs you. Are you looking for a dog who will love you instantly, sit in your lap and cuddle sweetly, come when you call, stare lovingly into your eyes and gently kiss your nose? Yeah… that’s not this one. Winter came from a hoarding situation, so she missed the class on How to Dog 101. She’s kind of… let’s say… socially awkward and deeply suspicious. She thinks companionship is unnecessary, affection is a scam, and the floor is lava unless she decides otherwise. She’s not broken—just running on some “alternative software.” She possesses the independence of an aloof cat and the stubbornness of a Bassett hound, wrapped up in the tiny body of a Chihuahua that’s bursting with trust issues. This little 15-pound gremlin is all flight and no fight, and those little legs can take her fast and far, so you better hold onto that leash tight. What she’s into: ~Dodging you ~Clutching her pearls with offense and judgment ~Side-eyeing you like you just stole her credit card ~Redefining “personal space”, think big! ~Doing absolutely nothing you asked her to do, unless it’s her idea ~Slowly, very slowly, realizing some humans have tasty treats, but not all treats are good enough ~Leash walks are her jam, just face forward and don’t look at her What she’s not into: ~Fast friendships ~Being touched, picked up, looked at or approached without her express permission, which she won’t give you ~Normal dog things (fetch? kisses? toys? puppy play dates? Pass.) Is she good with other dogs and cats in the home? Like her feelings about you, she couldn’t care less about other pets, as long as no one is trying to eat her or run her over. With time, patience, and a sense of humor, she’ll learn the world isn’t so scary. If you adopt her, and her trust issues, eventually, you’ll probably earn the rarest prize of all: her very reluctant affection (no guarantees). Apply today if you’re ready to love a dog who isn’t ready to love you, but is super cute, deserves better than the hand she was dealt in life, and might one day think you’re alright. Every dog deserves a home! Winter is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped. ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from Canine and Kitties Rescue*** The adoption fee for this dog is $375.00, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit: Caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Meet Hope! Hope is a Chihuahua mix about 9 years old and weighs about 8 lbs. Hope is a very sweet girl who loves to be with her foster mom and dad. Hope is fostered with other dogs 25 lbs and under and does well with them. Hope would be fine as an only dog too. Hope has not been around cats. Hope gets bursts of playfulness, but is also happy to just "hang-out". Hope is not fostered with children, but we think she would do ok with respectful children 7 years and up. Hope is house trained. Hope would do best in a home where someone is at home most of the day as she loves her people. Hope is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** The adoption fee for this dog is $300, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. But he is otherwise just fine with other dogs. KNOWN WITH CATS: He’s not mean to cats but he does like to chase them so he’s probably best suited for a no-cat home. KNOWN WITH KIDS: Stan seems to love all people but he has not spent a lot of time with young kids since being with us. KNOWN COMMANDS: Still learning some commands as we are getting to know him. Seems to understand the basics: come! KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: So far he appears to be housebroken and does not mind his crate! Story
Meet Albert! Look up snuggle bunny in the dictionary and you’ll find a picture of Albert. This happy-go-lucky pup is bursting with personality and charm. Albert is quick to learn the ropes—he is walking well on a leash, and his fosters say that he is close to being completely potty trained. He’s already ringing the bell to go outside about half the time. He’s crate trained, too—he doesn’t necessarily go in on his own, but once he is in, he settles down and sleeps through the night. He currently lives happily with his foster sister, enjoys playing with toys – his favorites are soft toys that crinkle and squeak and rawhides - and loves being part of the action! Evenings are for cuddles, and Albert is always happy to oblige. He would thrive in a home with other playful pups or as a solo sidekick with lots of attention. If you're looking for a sweet, spirited companion who is equal parts spunky and snuggly, Albert might just be your perfect match! Albert will dart out the door if the opportunity presents itself and he is very quick. Questions About this Animal?
