Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Toby & Precious – Two Sweet Souls Looking for Their Forever Home Precious, a tiny Pomeranian mix, and Toby, an 11-year-old Chihuahua, recently lost their mom. One of their fur siblings was already taken to a shelter, but a kind-hearted Good Samaritan stepped in to give these two a safe, temporary home. Unfortunately, she already has three dogs, so this is not a long-term option. These sweet pups are pee pad trained and love walking on leashes. They are a little shy, especially around men, but with patience and love, they will warm up quickly. Location: Marshville, Union County (about 25 miles east of Charlotte) Please note: We do not transport dogs, so adopters must pick them up in Marshville. Both Toby and Precious are up to date on vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered once adopted.  Adoption Fee $300 per dog, $500 for both dogs.  They do not need to be adopted together.   If you’re ready to give these sweet hearts a loving home, apply here: https://rainbowbridgerescue.org/applications/  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 14, 2025, 2:35 pm

Story
Meet Ruby — a 4 year old, 10 lb Pomeranian with a big personality wrapped in a tiny, fluffy package. Quick Facts: Name: Ruby Breed: Pomeranian Mix Age: 4 years old Weight: 10 lbs. House-Trained: Yes (will need to be taken out ever 2-3 hours) Crate-Trained: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes (lives currently with small dogs) Good with Cats: Yes Good with Kids: No (will need an adult only household) Energy Level: Low to medium Fence Required: No Special Note: Ruby has a kneecap that is not at a normal position and is only noticeable when she kicks out her back legs to stretch. She does just fine on it, and does not show any discomfort or pain. She has been checked out by our recue vet and had radiographs taken to determine that since it is not symptomatically bothering her, she will not need surgery or treatment at this time. She will need to take glucosamine for the rest of her life. About Ruby’s Breed: Our best guess is that Ruby is a Pomeranian (possibly mixed) breed. Pomeranians are tiny dogs with big personalities—confident, alert, and full of charm. They’re known for being affectionate with their people, lively in spirit, and surprisingly bold for their small size. Their fluffy coats and bright expressions match their cheerful, curious nature. An ideal home for a Pomeranian is one that offers companionship, gentle structure, and plenty of attention. They thrive with adults or families who enjoy having a little shadow nearby and can provide regular grooming and mental stimulation. Because they bond closely and can be a bit opinionated, they do best in calm homes where their people appreciate both their sweetness and their spunky streak. All About Ruby: Ruby is the definition of a “people dog.” She adores her person and would happily be held, carried, or cuddled all day long — and she’s small enough that you’ll want to! She’s spunky, bossy, and full of opinions, but also incredibly sweet, alert, and affectionate. With gentle reminders to use her manners, she becomes the most charming little companion! Ruby enjoys her walks, is great on a leash, and doesn’t bark or react to other dogs she passes. She has a medium energy level — not hyper, not sleepy — and spends most of her day lounging beside her foster mom while she works, occasionally getting up to explore the house. She gets along wonderfully with the small dogs and cat in her foster home too! Because she bonds deeply and can be protective of “her person,” Ruby would do best in an adult only, one person household, ideally with someone who has experience redirecting small dog sass. She seems to prefer female energy and thrives with someone who appreciates her adorable yet bold little personality. Ruby is potty trained and crate trained, though she may grumble a bit about going into her crate — but once she’s in, she sleeps peacefully through the night! She also has a mild kneecap quirk that doesn’t cause her pain or affect her mobility, and the rescue vet has confirmed she doesn’t need any treatment at this time. She will need to take Glucosamine for the rest of her life. Ruby is cuddly, quirky, loyal, and full of love — the perfect tiny companion for someone who wants a devoted little shadow with a dash of Pomeranian spice! Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. to ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application.
