Story
Adoption Area: East TennesseeGizmo needs:Regular professional grooming Someone willing to provide and administer daily thyroid meds Calm adult householdSomeone home during the dayNo children under 8 years of ageGizmo — A Tiny Senior With a Big HeartHi, I’m Gizmo! I’m a 12‑year‑old, 8‑pound Pomeranian who was rescued by SBRET after losing my home. I’m a gentle little senior looking for a quiet, loving place to spend my golden years.I have tracheal collapse, but right now I only have a small cough each day and don’t need medication. I take thyroid meds and will need occasional bloodwork. I had a dental and now have just two teeth, so my tongue hangs out — everyone says it’s adorable. I eat softened kibble with no trouble.I sleep in my x‑pen, enjoy napping, and like being near my humans. My hearing and vision aren’t perfect, so I need someone who can keep me safe, especially around furniture and stairs. I’m not a cuddler, but I love belly rubs and being close by.I’m doing great with housetraining and walk nicely on a leash, though I zig‑zag a bit. I like calm, older dogs. Car rides make me nervous, so a low‑travel home is best.I’m neutered, microchipped, had a dental, and I’m up to date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. My adoption fee is $100.If you’re ready to love a sweet senior who just wants comfort, kindness, and a soft bed, I’m your boy.

Story
Please read about Scout before applying to adopt him as he needs a special home. Scout was surrendered to a good Samaritan after being a breeder for 6 years. Unfortunately, he was attacked by a much larger dog in his new home. The lack of socialization as a breeding dog kept in a cage constantly has made him afraid of people and the dog attack has made him afraid of large dogs. Scout has a lot of anxiety. He spends most of his time pacing the fenced in backyard. He allows himself to be picked up but does not enjoy being held. Scout is NOT a lap dog and may not ever be. He is also not yet house trained. We are working on this with belly bands but he does also prefer to poop indoors. He is a flight risk and absolutely has to have a secure fenced in yard as he panics on leash. With time, Scout will be able to have a normal doggy life. However, that may take a very long time and he needs owners who are willing to put in the time and work. He would benefit from a trainer and anxiety medication. Scout is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and vaccinated. He has had senior bloodwork and a dental cleaning.

Story
Herman is an adorable 10 lb pomeranian who is at least ten years old. He came to us with awful breath and has had a dental and 21 teeth removed. It hasn't affected his ability to chow down! He is a total love bug and is so animated when he is feeling his happiest. Herman was found by someone who felt due to the area he was in was probably dumped there. He has acclimated beautifully in his foster home and would make someone a perfect companion. His adoption fee is $200 After reading this pet's info, if you are still interested in adopting, please fill out the online adoption application found at realgooddogrescue.com The ideal home for this Real Good Dog will have a secure fenced yard. A solid history of excellent vet care for current or previous pets is required. Preference will be given to applicants who have specific breed experience and own their own home.
