Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Single 1-year-old spayed Husky transferred from SPCA South Plains in Texas after being pulled from the euthanasia list. While in Texas, she tested positive for Lyme disease and Ehrlichia and was appropriately treated for both prior to transport. She arrived in Colorado already spayed and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. Although she may continue to test positive on future screening tests due to prior exposure, she has been treated and, because she will not be used for breeding, this is not expected to cause any issues moving forward. From the foster: Meadow is a spirited, bright, huggable, beautiful Husky pup. She seems very happy to be in a home, after her long journey to Colorado. She is housebroken - there've been no accidents in the house - and she sleeps in a large (2' x 3' x 27" tall) crate bed. At bedtime she cries for a few minutes when crated, but then settles down for the entire night. She devours her kibble. We've been putting some of it in kongs so she can hunt for it, making mealtime a bit more fun. She enjoys playing with the kongs to get her food. And she enjoys playing with all toys, racing around with them and making her own games. She did well meeting our 3-year-old granddog, who is about the same size, and having a day-long play date. They played long and hard; our granddog went home exhausted. She also met our 5- and 7-year-old grandkids and was indifferent towards them; she was much more interested in their dog. She seems fascinated by our caged cockatiel, enough so that I haven't let them be in the same room together unsupervised. Better safe than sorry. She has enjoyed neighborhood walks on which she's been full of pep. Squirrels and rabbits and birds naturally interest her. She is friendly towards the people and dogs we meet. She is a sweet and energetic girl, responding well to her new environment and happy to attach herself to her new people. She will make a devoted and fun-loving pet for a lucky family. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Story
Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Single 8-year-old female transferred from Española Humane in New Mexico with an intake type of seized/custody/stray. While in New Mexico, she tested positive for heartworm and completed treatment prior to transport. She arrived in Colorado already spayed and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. From the foster: Meet Ashley! ❤️ Ashley is an estimated 8-year-old sweetheart who’s ready to find the forever family she’s been waiting for. While she’s guessed to be a Husky/Shepherd mix, her foster says the “husky” part is mostly just a guess—Ashley is simply 100% herself! This lovely girl has been through a lot as a heartworm survivor, and she’s just finishing up a course of steroids that caused some temporary weight gain. Now she’s looking forward to getting back to her favorite activities, especially leisurely walks and enjoying life with her new family. Ashley is a wonderful companion who sleeps soundly in her crate through the night and appreciates having a cozy space to call her own. She enjoys the company of other dogs and is always happy to have canine friends around. Since she’s a bigger girl who doesn’t always realize her size, she’d do best with playmates who don’t mind her enthusiastic personality. Her crate is her special safe place, and she appreciates having that space respected. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving dog with a gentle heart and so much love to give, Ashley could be the perfect addition to your family. She’s overcome so much already and is ready to spend her golden years surrounded by the love and comfort she deserves. Could Ashley be the missing piece in your home? www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
