Story
Hello! My name is Ranger, and I’m a loving and loyal Siberian Husky who loves to be out and about and exercising and exploring the world every chance I can get! I have been a wonderful pup for my mom and dad, but unfortunately with their updated lives and new young human kiddos in their lives (and more on the way), I have sadly just not been able to get the amount of time needed to just “be a husky” and mom and dad have had to make a long and very difficult decision to find me a loving new home that can help me be an active dog again. I’m a very very happy dog that gets along wonderfully with any other dog and person and has literally never hurt a fly, but I do require a lot of activity and exercise and definitely would want to be with a loving family that knows what it means to take care of a husky! Thank you for looking and let my mom and dad know if you have questions about me!

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: 3-year-old Husky mix transferred from Española Humane Society in New Mexico. Originally an owner/guardian surrender. From the foster: Meet Togo! Togo is a blue-eyed beauty who is sure to steal your heart! This handsome white Husky has a wonderfully independent personality. He doesn't need constant attention or entertainment, but he does enjoy getting out and about. A daily walk of around three miles would be a great way to keep this boy happy, healthy, and ready to relax. Togo is fantastic with other dogs. He enjoys playing but isn't constantly in their space, and he does a wonderful job reading their social cues and knowing when it's time to give them a break. He's also a very easygoing eater with no food-guarding issues, making him a lovely potential companion for a home with another dog. He's a nice walking partner, too. Togo enjoys meeting other dogs and is curious about them without being reactive. He may give the leash a little tug when he'd rather stop and investigate an interesting smell, but he's not a substantial puller. Togo is a pro at using the doggie door and happily lets himself in and out. He's still learning the finer points of being a house dog, including consistent potty habits, so his new family will need to give him some patience and positive reinforcement while he gets the hang of things. He currently prefers doing his business in the yard rather than while on leash, so a securely fenced yard would be especially helpful as he settles into his new home. He's also still discovering that the inside of a house can be a great place to relax. Right now, you'll often find Togo stretched out happily in the grass rather than lounging indoors. He's making progress, but he'll need time to acclimate to the sights, sounds, routines, and comforts of a home. Because he's not a fan of spending extended periods in a crate, Togo would be happiest with a family that doesn't require him to be crated. Once he's comfortable and his new family understands his routines, he may very well enjoy having the freedom to relax in the house. Mental stimulation, squeaky toys, and appropriate chew toys can help make that transition even more rewarding. Perhaps the best thing about Togo is his sweet, genuine personality. He may be a little cautious when meeting someone new, so give him a few minutes to decide you're a friend. Once he trusts you, though, he's completely yours! If you're looking for a loving Husky with plenty of life and adventure ahead of him, but who has already moved beyond the most destructive puppy stage, come meet Togo. He may just be the blue-eyed companion you've been waiting for! www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: 11 puppies born to Mama Nilla Wafer from 8:04am to 3:40pm on 6/17/26. Mama was on a Texas euthanasia list prior to rescue. One puppy sadly passed away at 3 days old. This is puppy #9, born at 1:47pm. * Macaron was determined to be deaf by CPR’s vet at his neuter appointment. There are no further concerns and it is believed to be congenital. Throughout his time in foster, his hearing and vision were in question but it has been determined that he has full vision, just not hearing. * From the foster: 🍪 MACARON — The One-of-a-Kind Cookie! 🍪 Meet Macaron, the one-and-only pure white cookie in the litter! This 8-week-old Husky/Lab mix is completely unique, with a gorgeous snow-white coat and dark, almost black eyes that give him some serious Jon Snow vibes. ❄️🐾 Macaron started out as one of the smallest cookies, but he has really filled out and grown into a strong, handsome boy. From the very beginning, he’s been incredibly curious, observant, vocal, and just a little bit dramatic. And when we say vocal, you can definitely hear the Husky in him! 😂 Throughout puppyhood, we noticed that Macaron may have some hearing impairment, and we suspected he could be deaf. This was confirmed at his neuter appointment by CPR's vet, though we suspect he may still hear certain noises. He’ll simply need some extra consideration when it comes to communication and training—but it certainly doesn’t stop this boy from living life to the fullest! Macaron is playful, energetic, curious, and full of personality. He has a pretty enthusiastic play style and can be a little rough-and-tumble, so he would probably do best with a family who understands puppy play and can help him learn appropriate boundaries. A home without very young children or an older dog who prefers a quieter lifestyle may be the better fit for this energetic cookie. He’s a unique little guy with so much personality, and we know the right family is going to absolutely adore him. Macaron is freshly baked, snow-white, full of Husky sass, and ready to find the forever family who will love him exactly as he is. 🍪❄️❤️ www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Lainey #1 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 72 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails).   Lainey | 3.5 mos Alaskan Husky mix | Your little shadow Lainey is a sweet, playful 3.5-month-old Alaskan Husky mix who loves being around her people and will happily follow you wherever you go. She is affectionate and cuddly, but she is also a busy little puppy whose energy seems to last until yours runs out! She loves toys, treats, chewing bones, and playing in the water. She has a wonderful puppy personality and, of course, the bonus of great puppy breath. Lainey is doing well with other dogs and loves spending time with her people. She can be a little shy, but once she gets comfortable, her playful and affectionate personality comes out. She is still learning how to walk nicely on a leash and is making progress every time she goes out. She is also working on her house training and will whine when she needs to go outside. Lainey has been left alone for short periods in her crate and does best after a little initial whining. She is still learning that crate time means it's time to settle down, but she does eventually relax. Because she is a young puppy with plenty of energy, she needs supervision and appropriate outlets for chewing and play. She has been known to chew on rugs, so puppy-proofing will be important. Lainey already knows "come" and "sit" and is motivated by both food and toys, making her a fun puppy to train. She will need a family committed to continuing her training and helping her learn appropriate boundaries and manners. She has plenty of energy and enjoys being outside, so a securely fenced yard would be a great bonus. Lainey would do best with someone who is home much of the time and can give her the attention, exercise, structure, and mental stimulation a young, energetic puppy needs. She is going to be a wonderful companion for someone ready for the fun—and occasional chaos—of raising a puppy. As with any puppy, Lainey may have occasional accidents while she adjusts to her new home and continues working on her house training.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $475 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here. Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls.PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Neiko is a wonderful dog. A pure breed Siberian Husky who has been my loyal companion for many years. At around 80 pounds, he’s full of life and absolutely loves the outdoors—whether it’s playing in the snow, splashing in the water, or going on long walks. He’s very active and thrives with someone who can match his energy through regular exercise and playtime.Neiko enjoys camping, running freely, and engaging in playful back-and-forth. He’s quite the talker and will howl on occasion, sometimes it even sounds like he’s saying “I love you.” He’s affectionate, gives kisses, and knows commands like sit, shake, and fetch. He’s a high-energy dog who would do best with an equally active individual or family that can give him the attention and activity with a yard big enough to support his active needs.

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 72 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Dottie | 8mo Husky Shepherd X | Your goofy, adventurous sidekick Dottie is an adorable 8-month-old, 40-pound Husky Shepherd X who is an absolute goofball with plenty of puppy energy. She is playful, sweet, friendly, and loves toys, Nylabones, car rides, playing in water, and cuddling on the couch. True to her Husky heritage, she can be quite the little talker when she’s nervous or excited, but she is generally quiet when things are calm. She’s also a great car rider and will happily snooze while you’re on the road. Dottie is very dog-friendly and quickly settled into her foster home’s pack of five other dogs. She reads other dogs’ social cues well and would love a home with another active dog who can be her playmate and adventure buddy. She has also done well around the cat in her foster home. She isn’t aggressive toward him, although she may chase a cat who runs because she thinks it’s a game. She hasn’t met children yet, so her foster family hasn’t been able to evaluate her around kids. Dottie is almost completely house trained, although a few accidents can happen while she adjusts to a new environment. She will whine or stand by the door when she needs to go outside. She is also doing wonderfully with her kennel training. She goes in easily when asked, settles right away, sleeps through the night, and can comfortably stay crated when her people are away. On leash, Dottie still has some manners to learn. She likes to pull, but otherwise does well, and she’s a quick learner who should improve with some focused training. She knows sit, wait, and off, although sit and wait are still works in progress. She is very food motivated, which makes training easier, and she responds well to structure and boundaries. Dottie is an energetic girl who needs about 1–2 hours of activity each day and would thrive with an active family that enjoys walks, hikes, adventures, and plenty of playtime. A home with another active, playful dog would be ideal, although she could also thrive as the only dog if her people are committed to keeping her active. Dottie can be a little people-averse and seems to have had experiences that make her unsure of humans. She currently prefers the company of dogs, but she is extremely food motivated and is learning quickly that people are pretty great. She has already started seeking out cuddles on the couch with her foster parents, and her affectionate side will likely continue to blossom as she builds trust. Dottie is a wonderful puppy with a silly personality, a big heart, and so much potential. For the right active family willing to give her some patience, consistency, and plenty of exercise, she could be an amazing adventure companion.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Owner surrender after the adopter recently underwent brain surgery that resulted in the loss of her vision. Originally from Texas, but was driven to Colorado to find a safe placement due to concerns that her breed put her at a higher risk of euthanasia in Texas shelters. From the foster: Meet Tula! 🐾❤️ Tula is a sweet, energetic 10-month-old Terrier/Pit Bull mix who is ready to find her forever family—and her next adventure buddy! This playful girl does great with other dogs and absolutely loves to play. She has plenty of puppy energy and would thrive with an active family who can keep her busy with walks, playtime, and adventures. Tula can be a little mouthy at times, so she would do best in a home with older children. She seems to be potty trained, with only a few accidents when she first arrived. She also does wonderfully when left home alone! We haven’t seen any signs of destructive behavior or separation anxiety. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, active companion who is ready to be by your side for all of life’s adventures, Tula could be your girl! 💕🐶 Come meet Tula this Saturday and find your new adventure buddy! 🐾 www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
