Story
Meet Minnie, a 2-year-old Pug mix weighing 27 pounds with the cutest little underbite and a beautiful white chest and collar that gives her a “queenly” look. She’s as sweet as she is adorable and fully believes she’s here to love you… and collect a few treats along the way. Minnie is a happy, playful girl with a medium to high energy level. She loves playing with her foster dog siblings and enjoys toys, especially antlers and squeaky toys. She’ll chase a ball here and there, but she’d much rather engage with her people or other dogs than nap the day away. She’s very alert and will pop up quickly if she hears something new, making her both entertaining and a great little watchdog. She is house trained, though she has had a few recent accidents that may be related to medication she’s currently on while recovering from heartworm treatment. Minnie is crate trained with a little encouragement, especially if a treat is involved, and she settles in nicely once inside. When left alone, she does well resting in her crate for 4 to 8 hours. Minnie is great with tweens and teens and would do well in a home with or without kids. She gets along well with other dogs, especially those in the 30 to 60 pound range, and enjoys having playmates. Cats and other animals are unknown at this time. She’s a smart girl who already knows sit and shake and is currently working on “come here,” “lay down,” and “get in your box.” On leash, Minnie is still learning and can be a bit of a zig-zagger who pulls, but with consistency and a little patience, she’ll continue to improve. She is very food motivated, which makes training easier and fun. Car rides can make Minnie a little nervous, though she has already started improving. For longer trips, she may benefit from some calming support, but she’s making great progress and gaining confidence. Minnie’s ideal home is simply one that will love her. She’s affectionate, playful, and full of personality. When you look into her eyes, she seems to say, “I’m a cutie patootie, here to give you love and kisses,” and she truly means it. If you’re looking for a sweet, fun-loving companion who will keep you smiling and shower you with affection, Minnie may be your perfect match. You can apply directly for Minnie by clicking the Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-799 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours (Monday-Friday).

Story
Welcome Kiwi to CCPAL Rescue. Kiwi is a 10-week-old Pug mixed pup. She is a beautiful fawn color with a black muzzle. She has an underbite and a shortened nose. She is a smallest-sized pup in the liter. She should be 20 or 25 pounds full grown is our best estimate. They all have curly tails and the round adorable heads. Kiwi is the most outgoing and friendly in the group. She always comes when you call and wants to be picked up. They are all affectionate and cuddly. They are very playful with their siblings. They go on a wee pad but are not fully potty trained. They are good in a crate and are getting regular attention and love at the Rescue. We don’t have the privilege of adopting out many pugs. We are excited to find the pug pups their forever home. We would love pug people for these pups, as they know the breed most. They will be spayed and neutered and ready for their forever home soon. Someone that doesn’t work all day every day is the best candidate for a puppy. These pups would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older as these pups are small and very trusting of everyone. Kiwi is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org See her cute video!! https://youtu.be/tGAgIihF7g4

Story
If happiness had a mascot, I’m pretty sure it would at the least resemble Koi. This boy is the definition of a peoples-dog, spreading wiggly affectionate and an enthusiasm for love everywhere he goes. To him, it is absolutely a thrill to be loved! The moment you start petting him, you can see him light up like it’s the best day of his life- tail wagging, body wiggling, whole-face smile.. Standing still for love is just not his style! Take a look at him in action- it's worth it- then come back to read more - https://youtu.be/_-aMxaMQHH4 Koi is estimated to be 1.5-year-old, he weighs 33-lbs and we suspect he is a pug mix but we cannot guarantee breed or birthday considering he is a rescue. Koi enjoys adventure and is an eager explorer who has basic leash skills and will polish to perfection with practice and the occasional gentle correction. He checks in often and is happy to deliver on your expectation. Dog-wise, Koi is a social and playful guy. No surprise right, you can just see it in him. We spent the afternoon introducing him to new dogs and watching him play and he is polite during on leash introductions, with a little excitement sneaking in here and there but it is all in a friendly nature. The only trouble with Koi's friendly enthusiasm and playstyle is that not every dog finds it fun. He loves a good playmate with matching energy but tends to pester dogs to play in an annoying, younger sibling sort of way. We have seen his best fit to be with dogs that have a very similar frenchy/boston type of baby bull playstyle. It's almost like the annoying cancels itself out. LOL! But with that said, this boy would also be perfectly content being your one and only! Koi’s ideal home will give him an outlet for his energy- walks, playdates, or backyard fun- and people who don’t mind his occasional joyful jumps or sneaky smooches (aka-face licks.) He’s a small package with a big-dog heart and a contagious joy for life. The perfect dog if you love hosting and have a dog-loving bunch of friends and family. He is friendly, outgoing, and greets new people with open paws and a full-body wiggle, so much so that people may want to come over just to hang out with him. He does jump up gently to give hugs so a family with slightly older kids who can handle his excitement would be perfect. This boy is going to be the sweetest sidekick and promises to help keep life fun. If the words compact bundle of sunshine or wiggly joy are on your list of must-have qualities for your dog, look no further Koi is your boy and his tail is already wagging for you! Story
She is tiny. She is happy. She is absolutely full of personality! This is Beanie Baby! You just found the kind of little dog who brings a whole lot of life in a petite package. She’s estimated to be just shy of a year old and weighs just 22 lbs. While she might be a pug/terrier mix, rescue rules apply, so her exact blend is anyone’s guess. Breed doesn't matter though, you can see she is adorable and has that bright, joyful energy that makes her easy to love right away. See for yourself! Go watch Beanie Baby on YouTube and then come right back to read more. Seeing her bounce between playful and cuddly in real time really tells her story best. https://youtu.be/3sVWSTxmT5I One quick note you may notice in her video or photos. Beanie Baby previously had a visible cherry eye, which has since been corrected. It was purely cosmetic and never caused her pain, and now it’s been taken care of. Beanie Baby greets the world like it’s full of friends she just hasn’t met yet. She is open, affectionate, and sweet with new people, and while she does have that fun, energetic puppy spark, she also knows how to settle in and enjoy a good cuddle when the moment calls for it. She has such a nice balance. Play hard, then happily curl up close. Outside she’s confident and curious without being clingy. She’ll wander, explore, check things out, and make her rounds with an easygoing independence, then circle back in for some love. She is friendly with both people and dogs, showing the same happy, social approach without any tension or hesitation. She also has the beginnings of a fetch career… once she figures out the “bring it back” part, she’ll be unstoppable. That and maybe having a ball small enough to fit in her mouth. With other animals, she continues to shine. She is fostered in a home with a small dog and a similar age/size dog. Her foster shares that she is an enthusiastic playmate and has had zero issues. No jealousy, no tension, just a happy girl who likes to play and is happy when attention turns her way. When it comes to cats, she did beautifully. We introduced her to our house cat and she was excited to meet him but remained respectful and cautious with the perfect touch of curiosity. She gave him space, checked in politely, and coexisted without any stress. We see all the qualities of a dog that would be a great fit for a home with a cat. Beanie Baby is the kind of dog who could fit into a lot of different lifestyles. She’s small enough for apartment living, social enough for multi-pet homes, and has that adaptable, happy nature that makes transitions feel easy. She’s just a really good, really lovable little dog. If you’ve been looking for a pint-sized companion with a big heart and an even bigger personality, Beanie Baby is ready to make herself right at home. Apply today and welcome your favorite sidekick home! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69d3f72833e0b08f0207f06c Questions?
