Story
NorbertMaleAge: 6 yearsWeight: 30 lbsBreed: Beagle Pug MixTrial Adoption Eligible Hi! I’m Norbert. I am a loving, friendly and happy guy who gets along with other dogs, but not so much cats as I like to chase them. Children have been a stressor for me in the past, so a home without children would be best for me. I am house trained and crate trained too. My favorite treats are freeze dried tripe from that Hollywood Feed Store and I have a Moose stuffed toy I enjoy. In my daily life, I like to lounge on the couch, explore the yard and take walks. I can be an escape artist, so supervised playtime in the yard is a good idea. My foster mom says I am pretty quiet for a beagle. I am gentle and polite with all my doggy friends and I really love to cuddle with my humans. I cannot wait to find a family all my own who will provide me all the love and attention I deserve! To help me find the perfect match, I’m eligible for Cause for Canines’ Trial Adoption Program! This gives approved adopters a chance to get to know me in their home before making things official. You must be an approved adopter to participate. If you are interested in meeting Norbert, apply to adopt at: www.causeforcanines.org. Adoption fee: $350 Must be an Ohio resident and 23 or older. Home without Children.  ##1566915##

Story
Are you the type of person that likes to give sweet older pups a chance they might otherwise not get? Sweetie loves attention and will happily help you out by guarding the door of the bathroom from the inside. However, she can also be quite the independent little lady and doesn’t need to be a velcro dog… unless you want her to be! Sweetie can be a little bossy with her dog friends (part of why we think she’s mixed with chihuahua!) but generally gets along well with everyone. Sweetie is a beauty but would benefit from a little tough love when it comes to feeding and giving out treats and a little more activity in her day. A physically fenced yard is required. Sweetie is available for adoption in Ohio to residents of Ohio. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Introducing Vintage Reds-Bench. This little chi/pug mix boy was born at DASH when his mom, Sassy, came to the rescue very heavily pregnant. Bench and his siblings were born via C-Section shortly after. Since being with his foster mom, he is thriving and is a typical puppy. He is still very young, so he hasn't started learning many of his puppy manners, so his new family will need to be ready and willing to work with him on that journey to being the best puppy ever. He has been around his siblings and other small dogs in his foster home, but has not been cat or kid tested. Due to his smaller size, very young rambunctious children may not be the best fit, but older respectful kids should be fine. He is ready for deposits until he is old enough to be spayed. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 27, 2026, 12:07 pm

Story
What they love: Wren is still discovering what she loves, and that's one of the most special parts about her. She's learning that life can be fun! She has recently discovered that chewing on bones is pretty great, enjoys exploring the backyard at her own pace, and has a soft spot for tiny stuffy toys that fit perfectly in her mouth. She also loves gentle praise, a quiet environment, and is slowly realizing that treats and kind hands can be wonderful things too. What makes them special: Wren's resilience is what makes her truly extraordinary. Despite a lifetime of fear and uncertainty, she chooses to be brave every single day. Whether it's taking a treat from your hand, walking down a flight of stairs, or exploring something unfamiliar, she approaches each new challenge with quiet courage. Watching her confidence bloom is incredibly rewarding because every milestone represents a huge step forward in her healing journey. Ideal home: Wren will thrive in a calm, patient home where she can continue building confidence at her own pace. A predictable routine, gentle encouragement, and people who understand that trust takes time will help her flourish. She would do best in a quieter household with respectful dogs, if any, and without cats. What to support: Wren will need continued patience as she experiences many everyday things for the first time. She is still working on potty training, learning that the world is a safe place, and becoming more comfortable with leash walking and new environments. She doesn't enjoy being crated and will need positive reinforcement as she continues building confidence. The biggest thing adopters can offer Wren is time, consistency, and lots of encouragement while she discovers just how wonderful life can be. With other pets and people: Wren is a very gentle girl who does well with calm, respectful dogs but can become a little grumpy if play gets too rough or overwhelming. She has shown some resource guarding around other dogs, so slow introductions and thoughtful management will help set her up for success. She has not done well with her foster cat and would do best in a cat-free home. With people, Wren is initially very shy and cautious, but every day she grows a little braver. Once she begins to trust you, it's incredibly rewarding to watch her personality slowly shine through. Additional info: Wren will need ongoing monitoring of her skin and ears.
