Due to the number of applications being received for each dog, we are only able to contact the applicants who have met ALL the listed Requirements*** Name/Tag#: Sweet Pea 4467 Age: 6yrs old Sex/Altered: Spayed Weight: 15lb Breed: Pug Foster Home Location:  PENETANGUISHENE, ON Adoption Fee:  $750.00 Temperament: Sweet, loving, cuddly Activity/Energy Level: Low - medium Up to date on Shots: Yes Housebroken: Working on it Crate Trained: Yes Ok with Dogs: Yes Ok with Cats: Unknown, but probably OK Ok with Kids: Yes, kids over 6 yrs old Origin: Puppy mill release Requirements: Securely fenced yard, someone home most of the time, companion dog in the home, experienced dog owner, no kids under 6 years   And now, a few words from me: Hi there, I’m Sweet Pea the Pug, a rescue little lady who lives for a hug. I once felt small in a big, busy place. Now I zoom through life at a snorty-snort pace. I’ve got a round belly and big shiny eyes, and I specialize in cuddle surprise. I wiggle, I snuggle, I squeeze in tight, I’m your warm little loaf every day and night. If you sit on the couch, I’ll scoot up snug, because hugging’s my hobby — I’m basically glue, not a pug. From lonely old days to a love-filled spree, The sweetest of peas? Yep — that’s me, Sweet Pea! And now, a few words from my foster mom: Sweet Pea is a loving, cuddly girl with no concept of personal space! She may think she's a scarf or a hat as she curls into your neck or... on to your head.  She loves a good conversation, especially in the morning and when you come home. Sweet Pea is looking for a home with another dog that she can cuddle up with and a human that can be home most of the time. She has figured out going up the stairs and we are working on going down. (Harder to do when you are top heavy!) Sweet Pea is also learning to do her business outside and is great at using pee pads.  She is not yet leash trained so a fenced area is a must. Sweet Pea is a very good girl of course, but she is looking for a home without small children as she thinks everyone's hands should be petting her and she may jump up on a child whose hands are right near her squishy little face. Are you looking for Pug to hug, snuggle up with, shadow your every move, have meaningful chats with?  Sweet Pea is your girl. Grab up this sweet, cuddly girl soon! Questions? Story
Kolbe may be small in size, but he’s big on personality! This spirited little guy was surrendered to us when his previous family struggled to meet his exercise, mouthing, and training needs. Now, Kolbe is searching for an experienced, adult-only home that can provide him with the structure and routine he craves. Kolbe is incredibly friendly and his tail is always wagging! His excitement is contagious, and he has the most adorable smile when he's happy. However, when Kolbe gets anxious or playful, he can sometimes grab random objects or people's clothing. He’ll need a family that is dedicated to helping him navigate these behaviors and avoid situations that could overstimulate him. For this reason, Kolbe would do best in a home without children, small dogs, or cats. We are currently assessing how he interacts with large dogs, so we'll provide updates as we learn more. Kolbe loves working for treats, receiving butt scratches, and playing structured games of fetch and tug. He will require a few visits and training sessions at Dog Tales to ensure a smooth and successful transition to his forever home. Upon arrival, Kolbe was diagnosed with Leptospirosis. After undergoing intensive treatment, Kolbe has made a full recovery from the infection, but his kidneys were damaged. He has been diagnosed with early-stage chronic kidney disease (Stage 3). At this time, he is stable, with no symptoms aside from needing to urinate a bit more frequently than usual. His condition is being closely monitored, and he does not require any medications at this stage. However, Kolbe should be fed a prescription kidney diet to help slow the progression of his condition. Kolbe is a sweet, loving boy who just needs the right family to help him continue to thrive. Could that be you?

Story
Austin is an independent little guy! He enjoys playing ball, exploring the grass and going for long walks. He will be sure to love you forever if you give him lots of butt scratches. Austin came from a home where kids did not respect his space, therefore he can bite when he is resource guarding. He has been doing amazing with us but will need a home that is comfortable working through this and also allowing Austin to have lots of quiet time and a safe place. Ideally, Austin would do well in a quiet household with only adults.

English Bulldog

Male, 13 yrs
King City, ON
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Mackey was rescued after a life of living outside all alone. This powerhouse is such a fun loving boy! Mackey does not trust new people easily but with a proper introduction and lots of time, he learns to share his things and give affection. Once comfortable with his people, he listens well and is bouncy and playful. Mackey will need an experienced adult family to manage his resource guarding and teach him how to live in a house. Mackey is very intelligent and has learned many different ways to control these behaviors. He will need continued practice with muzzle training for vet visits and boundaries in the home to control his resource guarding. With clear guidance and reward for desired behavior, Mackey can easily learn to live in a home. Mackey has a high prey drive which makes him aggressive towards small dogs and wildlife. He will need lots of control on walks, distance away from all dogs, constant obedience training and positive reinforcement to keep him in a good mindset and paying attention to his owner. Mackey would do best in a house with a fully fenced yard.
