Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Lewistown, PA  Kennel License # 18167,  Sophie is a young pug, possibly mixed with chihuahua, who came to ODAAT painfully skinny. With good care and love, she is now back to a healthy weight and full of joyful energy. She is a high‑activity girl who loves movement, car rides, and being part of whatever is happening. Sophie gets super wiggly when held and is often too excited to sit still, but that enthusiasm comes from a heart that is ready to bond deeply once she knows she is truly home. She would happily play with toys and needs help with potty training, especially after previously being kept in a crate for long hours. Surrendered by her owner, Sophie is discovering what real companionship feels like. She has every bit of potential to grow into a snuggly, devoted little shadow for the right family. She would thrive in a home that enjoys activity as much as she does and can help her channel her energy in positive, fun ways. With patience, structure, consistency and love, she will blossom into the wonderful companion she was always meant to be. When applying to adopt through ODAAT, please know that we take pride in placing our animals appropriately based on their needs and personality. We want the best family for them and the perfect fit for your family. All applications are reviewed prior to choosing an adopter, and this process takes time. We do not adopt out on a “first come, first served” basis. Applications can be found on our website: www.onedogatatime.us  . Story
Cuteness overload warning!! Have you ever seen a puppy as cute as Jet? Jet was part of a litter surrendered to us back in July. His previous owners originally wanted to keep him, but as Jet got older and bigger, they decided they no longer wanted him and surrendered him to us. Jet had been running the streets along the Texas/Mexico border. He deserved so much more, and now it’s time to find him the family he was always meant to have — one who will love him unconditionally, keep him safe, and show him just how wonderful life can be. Born: May 3rd, 2026 Breed: Shih Tzu × Pug × Dachshund mix Weight: Approximately 11 lbs Jet is the happiest puppy! He absolutely LOVES being around people and will do just about anything to make his humans happy. When Jet first came into our care, we immediately gave him a much-needed bath. Afterwards, he celebrated with the cutest zoomies! He was so happy to be clean, surrounded by people doting on him, and other dogs ready to play. Jet is super-duper playful and has the most adorable butt wiggles you’ve ever seen. When he gets excited, his little butt goes completely sideways! Dogs: Jet loves other dogs and would do fantastic in a home with another playful pup. Cats: He has met cats and has had no issues with them, although he can be a little too energetic for some kitties. Hair: Has wire hair, does not seem to shed much, or at all. Toys: LOVES them! Cuddles: Absolutely! Food & treats: VERY food motivated and will happily accept anything you’re willing to pass his way! Jet loves to play, loves to cuddle, loves his toys, and honestly just seems to love life itself. He is well socialized and, if someone ever breaks into your house, he will probably do absolutely nothing to stop them — except perhaps wag his tail and ask for treats and pets. He is still a young baby, so Jet will need proper training, exercise, patience, consistency, and LOTS of love as he continues to grow and learn. After everything he has been through, Jet deserves a family who will never give up on him again. Any family would truly hit the jackpot by welcoming Jet into their home. If you think Jet could be your perfect little sidekick, please reach out and give this sweet boy the forever home he deserves! Jet is current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, and current on de-wormer. PLEASE READ BELOW CAREFULLY: The next step is to apply to adopt you can go to our website at: www.pawsitive-Impact-animal-rescue.org This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily. Story
Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617Could he do well with kids? Yes, with children around 8 years on a kid-by-kid basis.Could he do well with other dogs? Yes, on a dog-by-dog basis.Has this dog lived with cats? Yes. [The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---What volunteers have to say about this animal:Meet Remmy – Treat Enthusiast, Professional Snuggler, Very Good BoyRemmy has a simple philosophy: if you`re offering a treat, he would like to participate. If you`re offering a lap, he`d like to participate in that, too. This handsome Boxer–Pug mix arrived at the shelter needing to put on some weight, so he`s understandably a big fan of snacks. But what really makes Remmy special is how incredibly sweet he is. He may be a little hesitant at first, but give him a moment and you`ll find a gentle, affectionate boy who would very much like to be your buddy. What Remmy Is Like:- Exceptionally sweet and affectionate- A dedicated treat connoisseur- Knows `sit,` `down,` and `paw`- Loves reassurance and human companionship- Curious about the world around himRemmy can be more interested in investigating his surroundings than playing, which feels very on-brand for a dog who seems to prefer life`s quieter pleasures. He was also impressively good at recovering when something startled him.And then there was the lap situation. Remmy might occasionally try to crawl right into yours for reassurance, apparently having decided that a person is both an excellent source of comfort and a perfectly reasonable piece of furniture. We do not have the heart to disagree. He was curious about meeting new people and frequently checked back in with his human, while his introduction to another dog was polite and reserved. He`s a thoughtful fellow who seems to like taking his time before deciding how he feels about things.Remmy`s Ideal Home Looks Like:- Kids around 8+, on a case-by-case basis- Other dogs, pending meet-and-greets- Cats are a possibility—he has lived with them before- A family that will keep the treats coming and make him feel safe and lovedRemmy is the sort of dog who makes you want to slow down. Give him a snack. Give him a little reassurance. Give him somewhere comfortable to curl up. And if he decides your lap is his new favorite destination? Well, congratulations. You`ve been chosen.---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Remmy was initially hesitant but actively engaged with me during the assessment. He showed more interest in investigation than play and recovered quickly from being startled. He understood basic commands like `sit,` `down,` and `paw,` and often sought reassurance by trying to crawl into my lap. He was curious about meeting new people and frequently checked in with me. When meeting another dog, he approached with curiosity but remained reserved.---For more resources to help with any step of your adoption journey go to: https://go.petadoptiongateway.com/LycomingDT
