Story
If sunshine could grow four legs, a curly little tail, and the cutest underbite you've ever seen... it would be Cherry. At just 13 pounds and around 6 months old, Cherry is the perfect pocket-sized best friend. We believe she's a Pug/Chihuahua mix, but whatever magical combination created this little sweetheart deserves an award. With her tiny wrinkly forehead, expressive ears that pop up at every interesting sound, curly little tail, and the occasional snaggle tooth peeking out from her adorable underbite, she's impossibly cute—and she absolutely knows how to work it. Cherry is pure happiness wrapped in a tiny tan package. Don't believe us? Watch her video and see for yourself! https://youtu.be/eexhPFrmvlg?si=z0EZPQRHvv_i7Dtw She wakes up excited. She greets every day with a full-body wiggle. She loves every person she meets with her whole heart, and she's convinced that kisses are the perfect way to say hello. If you sit down, don't be surprised if this little lovebug immediately climbs into your lap, snuggles into your arms, and reminds you just how wonderful puppy cuddles can be. She has a special way of making every person she meets feel like they're her favorite person in the world. When she's not busy handing out kisses, you'll probably find Cherry playing with her beloved toys. This girl is absolutely toy obsessed! Plush toys, squeaky toys—you name it, she loves it. She dreams of having her very own toy basket that she can proudly empty one toy at a time before happily scattering them all over the living room. She's wonderfully independent when entertaining herself, but she's always thrilled if her people want to join in on the fun. Like any growing puppy, Cherry is still learning all the important puppy things, but she's incredibly treat motivated, making training both easy and fun. She's eager to please, incredibly smart, and ready to grow into the amazing adult dog we already know she's going to be. Cherry gets along well with other dogs and would love having a canine sibling to play with, though she'd also be perfectly happy soaking up all the attention as your one and only princess. We haven't had the chance to introduce her to cats just yet, but we're happy to test her if you have a feline family member. She recently met children and showed exactly what we expected—nothing but sweetness. Her gentle, affectionate personality makes us think she'd make a wonderful family companion. Whether you live in a cozy apartment or a home with a big backyard, Cherry is simply looking for a family to love. She'll happily adapt as long as she has plenty of toys to play with, adventures to share, and a warm lap waiting for her at the end of the day. Cherry isn't just an adorable puppy—she's the kind of dog who fills your home with laughter, wiggles, kisses, and joy. She's ready to spend every day reminding her forever family that life is just a little brighter with a happy puppy by your side. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Lola is the equivalent of a clown cars trunk, full of the fun stuff! Take cartoonish features, add four squeaky toys, a bouncy ball, at least one crinkle toy, and a pogo stick… and somehow turn it into a 20 lb dog. That is Lola! She is estimated to be around a year old and looks very much like a pug/boxer mix, though rescue rules absolutely apply and we cannot guarantee either. What we can guarantee is that Lola arrives preloaded with comedy, athleticism, and a level of enthusiasm that rivals a sugared up kid about to get on their first carnival ride. Go watch Lola on YouTube, then come right back to read more about this zoomie-powered party goblin. https://youtu.be/Lmiv_G04_1w Lola is wildly entertaining and genuinely a very happy dog. She loves fetch with her whole entire being, though we would currently rank her return skills at approximately 97% mastery because once she gets the toy, she can easily forget who threw it and occasionally what the next step is to get someone to throw it again. She absolutely thrives with playful dogs that enjoy chase games, wrestling, and rough-and-tumble antics. She is an absolute toy lover, easily self-entertains, and wakes up every day ready to turn life into recess. Lola would likely thrive with someone who genuinely enjoys training and wants an active sidekick to pour into. Think adventure buddy, hiking pal, training class enthusiast, enrichment queen, “let’s work your brain and body” kind of home. She is the kind of dog that will be incredibly rewarding in the right hands. She handles environmental stressors well, recovers quickly, and remains social and confident with people always. She is loving, goofy, resilient, and very game for whatever comes next. Lola’s dream home includes an equally playful dog who enjoys chase, shares toys, and enjoys the occasional playful wrestling match. This dream home will be cat-free and she would like to pass on apartment living, the girl wants room to run! More than one playmate is welcome as long as they are sturdy, playful dogs over 25 lbs that enjoy physical play, have good tolerance levels, and know how to take breaks. Because Lola is young and driven she will benefit from a structured home committed to helping her learn how to “dog-well.” She is learning how to settle in the home and will need encouragement to slow her busy brain down in exciting environments. The encouraging part is that she responds well to guidance and is very responsive to appropriate corrections. We love Lola! From her mini-boxer look to that pug-like tail, she is one-of-a-kind gal ready and waiting for her forever! Ready to make the first move? Phoebe’s write up: If you're looking for a dog with brains, beauty, and just the right amount of independence, meet Phoebe! At 1.5 years old and a sturdy 21 lbs, this dark-coated, incredibly soft girl has serious "main character" energy and is ready to find her furever loving home. Like her sister Rachel, Phoebe came to Happy Tails Happy Homes Rescue from the Yakima Humane Society. She carries that classic, endearing mix of initial shyness and fierce loyalty. She might take a brief moment to open up during a first meeting, but once you’re in her inner circle, she loves with her whole heart! Phoebe is a thoughtful girl who likes to make sure everything is in order. She’s a natural protector and appreciates her solo time, happily wandering off to take a quiet nap in her own space or catch some rays sunbathing outside. But don't let her independent streak fool you—she wants to know she's your number one, and you’ll frequently catch her throwing you an adorable signature side-eye just to make sure you're still paying attention to her. 🌟 Her Current Stats: House Manners: Phoebe is completely potty trained and does wonderfully with her crate training, settling down to rest beautifully the moment she goes inside. 🏡💤 Friends & Companions: With proper, slow introductions, she gets along well with most dogs and loves people! We don't know how she is with cats yet, but her sweet disposition means she could likely adapt well to a dog-savvy feline with the right management. 🐕 Travel Vibes: She is down to go places, though she does get a bit carsick. She is looking for an empathetic, respectful co-pilot willing to take corners slowly and help her build confidence on the road! 🚗 Smart & Playful: When she isn't napping, she loves to play! This girl is highly treat-motivated, which makes training and bonding with her a deeply rewarding experience. She’s currently picking up on sit, off, and recall, walks well on a leash, and she will thrive with a consistent handler who enjoys positive reinforcement and setting clear, loving boundaries. 🧸🎾 ✨ Special Foster Perk for her Adopters! To set Phoebe and her new family up for a lifetime of fun, her foster family is offering a lifetime, free Sniffspot code to their property! She will always be welcome to come back to run, play, explore, and sniff around familiar places. Perfect Match: Phoebe is the ultimate choice if you want a sweetheart who loves hard, snuggles deep, and has a wonderful, soulful personality. 👉 Note: Phoebe and her sister Rachel came into rescue together, but they are not bonded and are looking to be adopted independently so they can each find their own spotlight! Ready to give Phoebe the beautiful furever life she deserves? Reach out to Happy Tails Happy Homes today to learn more and apply! 🐾

Story
Squishy, splooty, and spectacularly unbothered… this is Barney. A low-riding, soft-hearted gentleman with a built-in off switch and a very serious commitment to comfort. He’s the kind of dog who treats life like a cozy Sunday afternoon… all day, every day. Go watch Barney Belly-Up Bliss Mode on YouTube, then come back… because seeing the full-body sploot and his signature “booty scratch malfunction” really completes the picture. https://youtu.be/td5ulHjXcNU Barney is estimated to be around 4 years old and weighs about 60 lbs. He looks like a bulldog/staffie mix with that perfectly smooshy, huggable build, but as always, rescue rules apply… breed and birthday are our best guess. What we do know for sure is that Barney has mastered the art of being chill. His foster describes him as easygoing, affectionate, and wonderfully low-key. He lives with multiple dogs of all sizes and ages and gets along beautifully with everyone, happily coexisting and minding his own business like the unbothered king he is. Barney doesn’t need the spotlight. He’s more of a “I’ll be right here if you need me” kind of companion. He’s confident and loving with people, happy to accept affection (especially if it comes in the form of a good booty scratch… fair warning, that may cause a full system reboot). He greets the world with a calm curiosity, takes everything in stride, and if something isn’t his vibe, he simply turns away and carries on. It’s a quiet kind of confidence that makes him incredibly easy to have around. Let’s talk about his hobbies, because Barney is a specialist. His top skills include: professional-level lounging, slow wandering, and executing a 10/10 sploot with textbook form. He’s not here for chaos or cardio. In fact, once he’s decided he’s done walking, he’s done. Think less “let’s go for a hike” and more “let’s sit together and watch the clouds do their thing.” He would thrive in a home that appreciates a slower pace and doesn’t expect playful, high-energy antics. With other dogs, Barney is social but likes to keep it chill. He prefers calm companions who respect his space and aren’t looking for a wrestling partner. He communicates clearly, sets polite boundaries, and then goes back to his regularly scheduled wandering. Barney is not a cat guy so a cat-free home will be needed and he would do best in a home without lots of stairs due to his sturdy build and low-to-the-ground frame. Crates aren’t his favorite either, he will oblige with a tiny woo-woo protest but his foster has found that giving him freedom and comfort works beautifully for him. He is trustworthy are perfectly house-trained. Barney is the definition of a companion dog. Not a project, not a whirlwind… just a steady, lovable presence who wants to exist alongside his people and soak up the simple things. A retired couple maybe, a quiet home, a comfy couch… that’s his dream lineup. If you’ve been waiting for a “no drama, just vibes” kind of dog, Barney is ready to report for duty. Apply today and welcome home your favorite nap partner. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69ebbffb6ed356befb03aa08 Questions? Story
Tater Tot is exactly what his name suggests- golden brown, round, hearty, a little lumpy, deeply lovable, and best enjoyed on the couch. He is estimated to be around 7 years old and is every bit the classic bulldog experience rolled into one chunky little package. Low to the ground, low on energy, and highly motivated by snacks, Tater Tot is not looking for adventure. He is looking for comfort, air conditioning, and someone who understands the beauty of a simple life. Rescue rules apply, so no promises on breed or birthday. Go watch Tater Tot on YouTube, then come right back to read more about this snack-seeking couch potato. https://youtu.be/6S8myH-_Bgc Tater Tot is wonderfully uncomplicated with people. He is confident meeting new friends, enjoys attention without demanding it constantly, and handles busy environments with the same energy as a dad walking through Home Depot on a Saturday morning. Calm. Unbothered. Mildly interested in where the treats are located. He is easy to leash, walks at the easiest pace (don’t call it slow), settles quickly, and truly seems happiest just wandering around at his own pace before finding a comfy place to lay down. And honestly? That is pretty much the dream bulldog setup. Now for the important placement note: Tater Tot really needs to be a solo dog. Not because he is aggressive or reactive, but because he is an older bulldog with absolutely zero respect for other dogs’ personal space. His entire social strategy currently revolves around awkward attempts to fast-track the relationship. This could be said a million ways but he is just wildly unconcerned with other dogs’ opinions on personal space. Here are a few- * Tater Tot approaches dog friendships with the confidence of someone who has never heard the word ‘boundaries. * Tater Tot is wildly unconcerned with other dogs’ opinions on personal space. *Tater Tot treats every dog introduction like an awkward speed date nobody agreed to attend. Some dogs tolerate it. Some absolutely will not. Tater Tot himself stays cool and unbothered but simply, it is much easier, happier, and safer to manage his freshy-boy tendencies as the only pet in the home. The good news is he genuinely does not seem to need dog friends to feel fulfilled. Tater Tot feels like a dog who would thrive in a quiet home where the daily agenda includes snacks, naps, short strolls, and rotating all his parts between sunny spots on the floor. He is low energy, easygoing with people, and recovers quickly from stressful situations. He crates well, settles well, and overall gives off “retired uncle with a recliner” energy in the absolute best way. Tater Tot does not need much. Just a comfy home, some understanding of classic bulldog quirks, and someone willing to love a sweet older guy exactly as he is. Ready to welcome Tater Tot home? Story
Do we even need to say it… LOOK AT THIS SQUISHY BABY-FACED CUTIE!!! For starters, if there were a contest for cutest, most adorable, best personality, and most gorgeous eyes, Scotty Smalls would win it by a landslide. But he’s more than just your squishy cutie patootie looks. He’s incredibly dog friendly, loves toys, is affectionate, and the list just keeps going. Better hurry and snatch this boy up because he will not be available for long! Watch his video and fall in love with this goofy goober: https://youtu.be/jRcCKrI95io?si=QjC3gZK9K_qRnOrH Scotty Smalls is a pittie mix approximately 1 year old and currently weighs 46 lbs. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Scotty is super dog friendly and has done great with every dog we have introduced him to. He’s been with dominant males, dominant females, dogs that like to roughhouse, play chase, and even dogs that just like to hang out and do their own thing and he’s been a friendly face to them all. He’s also been around smaller dogs and was respectful with them. Scotty is a social little butterfly and already has amazing social skills with other dogs. His play style is very much puppy-like. It’s bouncy, a little mouthy, and full of fun games of tag. He shares affection and treats easily with other dogs too, no jealousy here! He’s just a happy, sweet, goofy goober that loves everyone he meets and loves to play. His ideal doggy match would be a playful female who enjoys wrestling, chase, and a little bit of that physical, silly play style. He’s not all play all the time though, he does enjoy relaxing moments too (he may just need a little reminder when it’s time to settle down). No kitties for this cutie, please! Scotty is more than just his adorable face and fun personality. He’s smart too! He already knows basic commands like sit, loves treats, and is eager to please, which is the perfect trifecta for continued training. He is crate trained and has almost mastered potty training. For the most part, he keeps things clean indoors but may have an occasional accident as he’s still learning, so he does best with a consistent routine and slightly more frequent potty breaks. He walks fairly well on a leash and even does great tandem walking next to another dog, Future pack walk pro in the making! He can pull a bit at the beginning of walks out of excitement (he just really loves getting out there), but once he settles in and is reminded how a good boy walks, he does much better. With continued structure and practice, he’ll be walking like a little prince in no time. Scotty loves hanging out in the backyard, rolling in the grass, playing with toys, and exploring all the smells. Because of that, we would love for him to have a home with a backyard rather than an apartment. He’s also great at entertaining himself with toys, which is always a bonus. He has been around kids as young as 5 and did well, but we believe he would do best in a home with kids 12 and up who can match his playful energy and are a bit more steady on their feet. Scotty would thrive in a semi-active home looking for a fun, personality-packed companion who can keep up with adventures but also turn into the ultimate snuggle bug at the end of the day. He can be your Saturday morning adventure buddy and your lazy Sunday cuddle partner. Truly the best of both worlds. We are willing to test Scotty Smalls with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
