Story
Lola is the equivalent of a clown cars trunk, full of the fun stuff! Take cartoonish features, add four squeaky toys, a bouncy ball, at least one crinkle toy, and a pogo stick… and somehow turn it into a 20 lb dog. That is Lola! She is estimated to be around a year old and looks very much like a pug/boxer mix, though rescue rules absolutely apply and we cannot guarantee either. What we can guarantee is that Lola arrives preloaded with comedy, athleticism, and a level of enthusiasm that rivals a sugared up kid about to get on their first carnival ride. Go watch Lola on YouTube, then come right back to read more about this zoomie-powered party goblin. https://youtu.be/Lmiv_G04_1w Lola is wildly entertaining and genuinely a very happy dog. She loves fetch with her whole entire being, though we would currently rank her return skills at approximately 97% mastery because once she gets the toy, she can easily forget who threw it and occasionally what the next step is to get someone to throw it again. She absolutely thrives with playful dogs that enjoy chase games, wrestling, and rough-and-tumble antics. She is an absolute toy lover, easily self-entertains, and wakes up every day ready to turn life into recess. Lola would likely thrive with someone who genuinely enjoys training and wants an active sidekick to pour into. Think adventure buddy, hiking pal, training class enthusiast, enrichment queen, “let’s work your brain and body” kind of home. She is the kind of dog that will be incredibly rewarding in the right hands. She handles environmental stressors well, recovers quickly, and remains social and confident with people always. She is loving, goofy, resilient, and very game for whatever comes next. Lola’s dream home includes an equally playful dog who enjoys chase, shares toys, and enjoys the occasional playful wrestling match. This dream home will be cat-free and she would like to pass on apartment living, the girl wants room to run! More than one playmate is welcome as long as they are sturdy, playful dogs over 25 lbs that enjoy physical play, have good tolerance levels, and know how to take breaks. Because Lola is young and driven she will benefit from a structured home committed to helping her learn how to “dog-well.” She is learning how to settle in the home and will need encouragement to slow her busy brain down in exciting environments. The encouraging part is that she responds well to guidance and is very responsive to appropriate corrections. We love Lola! From her mini-boxer look to that pug-like tail, she is one-of-a-kind gal ready and waiting for her forever! Ready to make the first move? Rachel’s write up: Meet Rachel! 🥰🌲 If you are looking for a soft, sweet companion with her head playfully in the clouds, meet Rachel! At 1.5 years old and at 17 lbs, this happy-go-lucky Pekingese/Pug mix is looking for her loving furever home and is ready to be your ultimate loyal shadow. Rachel’s story started at the Yakima Humane Society before she made her way to Happy Tails Happy Homes Rescue. She takes a little bit of time to evaluate new people when first meeting them, but she attaches very quickly. Once she knows you, she thrives on companionship—while her foster sister is off enjoying solo napping time, Rachel prefers to be right by your side, showering you with affection. ☁️✨ She is also an avid outdoor explorer who absolutely loves all the sniffs. You can frequently find her investigating molehills, munching on a few fresh blades of grass, and getting the absolute most out of every acre she gets to roam! 🌳🐾 Her Current Stats: House Manners: She is fully potty trained and a total champ in her crate! She settles down right away without a single complaint. 🏡💤 Social Butterfly (With Intros): With a slow, proper introduction, she does well with most dogs. Her history with cats is unknown, but given her sweet, gentle nature, she could likely thrive with a patient, managed introduction phase. 🐕🐈‍⬛ Road Trips: Rachel does get a little drooly and carsick on rides, so she’d love a patient, empathetic family willing to take corners slowly and help her comfortably adjust to the road over time. 🚗💦 Smart & Treat-Motivated: Training and bonding with Rachel is an absolute joy because she is incredibly food-motivated! She is currently picking up on sit, off, and recall. Walks well on a leash. She will thrive with a family who has the time, energy, and consistency to keep showing her new cues using positive reinforcement. 📈🍖 ✨ Special Foster Perk for her Adopters! To set Rachel and her new family up for a lifetime of fun, her foster family is offering a lifetime, free Sniffspot code to their property! She will always be welcome to come back to run, play, explore, and sniff around familiar places. Perfect Match: Rachel knows she is a total star and wants all your love to herself! She is looking for a sweet snuggler of a human who is ready for a devoted, sidekick companion. 👉 Note: Rachel and her sister Phoebe came into rescue together, but they are not bonded and are looking to be adopted independently so they can each be the shining star of their own furever home! Story
Phoebe’s write up: If you're looking for a dog with brains, beauty, and just the right amount of independence, meet Phoebe! At 1.5 years old and a sturdy 21 lbs, this dark-coated, incredibly soft girl has serious "main character" energy and is ready to find her furever loving home. Like her sister Rachel, Phoebe came to Happy Tails Happy Homes Rescue from the Yakima Humane Society. She carries that classic, endearing mix of initial shyness and fierce loyalty. She might take a brief moment to open up during a first meeting, but once you’re in her inner circle, she loves with her whole heart! Phoebe is a thoughtful girl who likes to make sure everything is in order. She’s a natural protector and appreciates her solo time, happily wandering off to take a quiet nap in her own space or catch some rays sunbathing outside. But don't let her independent streak fool you—she wants to know she's your number one, and you’ll frequently catch her throwing you an adorable signature side-eye just to make sure you're still paying attention to her. 🌟 Her Current Stats: House Manners: Phoebe is completely potty trained and does wonderfully with her crate training, settling down to rest beautifully the moment she goes inside. 🏡💤 Friends & Companions: With proper, slow introductions, she gets along well with most dogs and loves people! We don't know how she is with cats yet, but her sweet disposition means she could likely adapt well to a dog-savvy feline with the right management. 🐕 Travel Vibes: She is down to go places, though she does get a bit carsick. She is looking for an empathetic, respectful co-pilot willing to take corners slowly and help her build confidence on the road! 🚗 Smart & Playful: When she isn't napping, she loves to play! This girl is highly treat-motivated, which makes training and bonding with her a deeply rewarding experience. She’s currently picking up on sit, off, and recall, walks well on a leash, and she will thrive with a consistent handler who enjoys positive reinforcement and setting clear, loving boundaries. 🧸🎾 ✨ Special Foster Perk for her Adopters! To set Phoebe and her new family up for a lifetime of fun, her foster family is offering a lifetime, free Sniffspot code to their property! She will always be welcome to come back to run, play, explore, and sniff around familiar places. Perfect Match: Phoebe is the ultimate choice if you want a sweetheart who loves hard, snuggles deep, and has a wonderful, soulful personality. 👉 Note: Phoebe and her sister Rachel came into rescue together, but they are not bonded and are looking to be adopted independently so they can each find their own spotlight! Ready to give Phoebe the beautiful furever life she deserves? Reach out to Happy Tails Happy Homes today to learn more and apply! 🐾

Story
Dandelion seems to have collected all the best personality traits from the “perfect dog” variety pack and somehow fit them into her adorably perfect, portable 12-pound package. She's playful without being wild, affectionate without being clingy, social without being demanding, and carries herself with the quiet, friendly confidence of a dog who knows she's absolutely delightful. Add in her adorable smile, love of toys, and habit of rolling around happily in the grass, and you have a little dog who turns ordinary moments into dreamy perfection. Go watch Dandelion Dot on YouTube, then come right back to read more about this one-of-a-kind little gem. https://youtu.be/L8ZuTt4wwnc Estimated to be around 1.5 years old, weighing 12 pounds, and looking very much like a Boston Terrier/Wirehaired Terrier mix, which of course we cannot guarantee given she is a rescue but you can see what we see just the same. What we do know is that she is an exceptionally easy dog to live with and love. Dandelion is currently thriving in a foster home where she's proven herself to be wonderfully adaptable. She gets along beautifully with dogs of all shapes, sizes, and personalities as well as feline friends. In fact, there is something a little cat-like about Dandelion herself. She enjoys having canine friends to run and play with and is always happy to join in on the fun, but she doesn't need another dog in the home to be happy. She is self-entertaining and confident enough to shine all on her own.She has also lived with children and has shown herself to be gentle, playful, and perfectly happy to snuggle or play dress-up. She's independent enough to entertain herself, enjoys finding cozy places to relax, and seems perfectly content simply observing the world around her before deciding whether she'd like to participate. When she isn't supervising household activities, you'll likely find her carrying around a toy, accepting treats with a smile, perfecting her lap-dog ambitions, or flopping dramatically into the grass for a good roll. She loves simple pleasures and approaches life with an easy, joyful attitude. Dandelion is also a wonderful companion outside the house. She rides nicely in the car, walks beautifully on leash, and handles new environments with the kind of confidence that makes taking her places easy and enjoyable. Her ideal home does not include shared wall/apartment living- Dandelion does like to chat a bit when left alone in a crate, so a home where her letting you know she will miss you won't be an issue will set everyone up for success. If you've been hoping to find that rare dog who seems to fit effortlessly and make everything better- Dandelion is your girl! Sweet, social, funny, adaptable, and undeniably adorable, she is the kind of dog who will absolutely make life better and brighter. Ready to wish on this Dandelion? Story
Squishy, splooty, and spectacularly unbothered… this is Barney. A low-riding, soft-hearted gentleman with a built-in off switch and a very serious commitment to comfort. He’s the kind of dog who treats life like a cozy Sunday afternoon… all day, every day. Go watch Barney Belly-Up Bliss Mode on YouTube, then come back… because seeing the full-body sploot and his signature “booty scratch malfunction” really completes the picture. https://youtu.be/td5ulHjXcNU Barney is estimated to be around 4 years old and weighs about 60 lbs. He looks like a bulldog/staffie mix with that perfectly smooshy, huggable build, but as always, rescue rules apply… breed and birthday are our best guess. What we do know for sure is that Barney has mastered the art of being chill. His foster describes him as easygoing, affectionate, and wonderfully low-key. He lives with multiple dogs of all sizes and ages and gets along beautifully with everyone, happily coexisting and minding his own business like the unbothered king he is. Barney doesn’t need the spotlight. He’s more of a “I’ll be right here if you need me” kind of companion. He’s confident and loving with people, happy to accept affection (especially if it comes in the form of a good booty scratch… fair warning, that may cause a full system reboot). He greets the world with a calm curiosity, takes everything in stride, and if something isn’t his vibe, he simply turns away and carries on. It’s a quiet kind of confidence that makes him incredibly easy to have around. Let’s talk about his hobbies, because Barney is a specialist. His top skills include: professional-level lounging, slow wandering, and executing a 10/10 sploot with textbook form. He’s not here for chaos or cardio. In fact, once he’s decided he’s done walking, he’s done. Think less “let’s go for a hike” and more “let’s sit together and watch the clouds do their thing.” He would thrive in a home that appreciates a slower pace and doesn’t expect playful, high-energy antics. With other dogs, Barney is social but likes to keep it chill. He prefers calm companions who respect his space and aren’t looking for a wrestling partner. He communicates clearly, sets polite boundaries, and then goes back to his regularly scheduled wandering. Barney is not a cat guy so a cat-free home will be needed and he would do best in a home without lots of stairs due to his sturdy build and low-to-the-ground frame. Crates aren’t his favorite either, he will oblige with a tiny woo-woo protest but his foster has found that giving him freedom and comfort works beautifully for him. He is trustworthy are perfectly house-trained. Barney is the definition of a companion dog. Not a project, not a whirlwind… just a steady, lovable presence who wants to exist alongside his people and soak up the simple things. A retired couple maybe, a quiet home, a comfy couch… that’s his dream lineup. If you’ve been waiting for a “no drama, just vibes” kind of dog, Barney is ready to report for duty. Apply today and welcome home your favorite nap partner. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69ebbffb6ed356befb03aa08 Questions? Story
Tater Tot is exactly what his name suggests- golden brown, round, hearty, a little lumpy, deeply lovable, and best enjoyed on the couch. He is estimated to be around 7 years old and is every bit the classic bulldog experience rolled into one chunky little package. Low to the ground, low on energy, and highly motivated by snacks, Tater Tot is not looking for adventure. He is looking for comfort, air conditioning, and someone who understands the beauty of a simple life. Rescue rules apply, so no promises on breed or birthday. Go watch Tater Tot on YouTube, then come right back to read more about this snack-seeking couch potato. https://youtu.be/6S8myH-_Bgc Tater Tot is wonderfully uncomplicated with people. He is confident meeting new friends, enjoys attention without demanding it constantly, and handles busy environments with the same energy as a dad walking through Home Depot on a Saturday morning. Calm. Unbothered. Mildly interested in where the treats are located. He is easy to leash, walks at the easiest pace (don’t call it slow), settles quickly, and truly seems happiest just wandering around at his own pace before finding a comfy place to lay down. And honestly? That is pretty much the dream bulldog setup. Now for the important placement note: Tater Tot really needs to be a solo dog. Not because he is aggressive or reactive, but because he is an older bulldog with absolutely zero respect for other dogs’ personal space. His entire social strategy currently revolves around awkward attempts to fast-track the relationship. This could be said a million ways but he is just wildly unconcerned with other dogs’ opinions on personal space. Here are a few- * Tater Tot approaches dog friendships with the confidence of someone who has never heard the word ‘boundaries. * Tater Tot is wildly unconcerned with other dogs’ opinions on personal space. *Tater Tot treats every dog introduction like an awkward speed date nobody agreed to attend. Some dogs tolerate it. Some absolutely will not. Tater Tot himself stays cool and unbothered but simply, it is much easier, happier, and safer to manage his freshy-boy tendencies as the only pet in the home. The good news is he genuinely does not seem to need dog friends to feel fulfilled. Tater Tot feels like a dog who would thrive in a quiet home where the daily agenda includes snacks, naps, short strolls, and rotating all his parts between sunny spots on the floor. He is low energy, easygoing with people, and recovers quickly from stressful situations. He crates well, settles well, and overall gives off “retired uncle with a recliner” energy in the absolute best way. Tater Tot does not need much. Just a comfy home, some understanding of classic bulldog quirks, and someone willing to love a sweet older guy exactly as he is. Ready to welcome Tater Tot home?
