Story
Meet Minnie, a 2-year-old Pug mix weighing 27 pounds with the cutest little underbite and a beautiful white chest and collar that gives her a “queenly” look. She’s as sweet as she is adorable and fully believes she’s here to love you… and collect a few treats along the way. Minnie is a happy, playful girl with a medium to high energy level. She loves playing with her foster dog siblings and enjoys toys, especially antlers and squeaky toys. She’ll chase a ball here and there, but she’d much rather engage with her people or other dogs than nap the day away. She’s very alert and will pop up quickly if she hears something new, making her both entertaining and a great little watchdog. She is house trained, though she has had a few recent accidents that may be related to medication she’s currently on while recovering from heartworm treatment. Minnie is crate trained with a little encouragement, especially if a treat is involved, and she settles in nicely once inside. When left alone, she does well resting in her crate for 4 to 8 hours. Minnie is great with tweens and teens and would do well in a home with or without kids. She gets along well with other dogs, especially those in the 30 to 60 pound range, and enjoys having playmates. Cats and other animals are unknown at this time. She’s a smart girl who already knows sit and shake and is currently working on “come here,” “lay down,” and “get in your box.” On leash, Minnie is still learning and can be a bit of a zig-zagger who pulls, but with consistency and a little patience, she’ll continue to improve. She is very food motivated, which makes training easier and fun. Car rides can make Minnie a little nervous, though she has already started improving. For longer trips, she may benefit from some calming support, but she’s making great progress and gaining confidence. Minnie’s ideal home is simply one that will love her. She’s affectionate, playful, and full of personality. When you look into her eyes, she seems to say, “I’m a cutie patootie, here to give you love and kisses,” and she truly means it. If you’re looking for a sweet, fun-loving companion who will keep you smiling and shower you with affection, Minnie may be your perfect match. You can apply directly for Minnie by clicking the Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-799 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. Story
Now Fostered in Bothell WA!! If happiness had a mascot, I’m pretty sure it would at the least resemble Koi. This boy is the definition of a peoples-dog, spreading wiggly affectionate and an enthusiasm for love everywhere he goes. To him, it is absolutely a thrill to be loved! The moment you start petting him, you can see him light up like it’s the best day of his life- tail wagging, body wiggling, whole-face smile.. Standing still for love is just not his style! Take a look at him in action- it's worth it- then come back to read more - https://youtu.be/_-aMxaMQHH4 Koi is estimated to be 1.5-year-old, he weighs 33-lbs and we suspect he is a pug mix but we cannot guarantee breed or birthday considering he is a rescue. Koi enjoys adventure and is an eager explorer who has basic leash skills and will polish to perfection with practice and the occasional gentle correction. He checks in often and is happy to deliver on your expectation. Dog-wise, Koi is a social and playful guy. No surprise right, you can just see it in him. We spent the afternoon introducing him to new dogs and watching him play and he was polite during on leash introduction, with a little excitement sneaking in here and there but it was all in a friendly nature. He loves a good playmate with matching energy- think medium-energy, fun-loving dogs who enjoy a mix of zooming around playing chase followed by extended chill-time. Koi’s ideal home will give him an outlet for his energy- walks, playdates, or backyard fun- and people who don’t mind his occasional joyful jumps or sneaky smooches (aka-face licks.) He’s a small package with a big-dog heart and a contagious joy for life. The perfect dog if you love hosting and have a dog-loving bunch of friends and family. He is friendly, outgoing, and greets new people with open paws and a full-body wiggle, so much so that people may want to come over just to hang out with him. He does jump up gently to give hugs so a family with slightly older kids who can handle his excitement would be perfect. This boy is going to be the sweetest sidekick and promises to help keep life fun. If the words compact bundle of sunshine or wiggly joy are on your list of must-have qualities for your dog, look no further Koi is your boy and his tail is already wagging for you! FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Hardy! Hardy is a 6-year-old, 18 lb Pug who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter, and he is every bit the classic, lovable pug you could hope for! Sweet, goofy, and endlessly charming, Hardy has a big personality packed into a small, squishy body. He loves being carried, soaking up attention from his people, and showing off his silly side. He’s bouncy, playful, and always ready to make you laugh ~ truly your typical happy, goofy pug! Hardy is great with other dogs and great with people, making him an easy addition to a social household. He’s also treat-motivated, which makes him eager to engage and easy to work with. He enjoys going on walks and little adventures and would love adopters who include him in their daily activities. Because Hardy is a flat-faced breed, he will do best in a home with brachycephalic (flat-faced) breed experience or adopters who understand his specific needs, including monitoring exercise, temperature, and overall health. Hardy is ready to bring laughs, cuddles, and plenty of pug charm to the right home ~ all he’s missing is his forever family! Hardy is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. Story
Hi, my name is Chachita. I am a calm, sleepy, and very loving older dog who enjoys being close to my person. I like to follow you around the house, nap in cozy spots, and play a little before bedtime. I would love a home where I am treated like the queen of the house, with space to walk comfortably, and someone who is patient and understands that I am a senior dog. When I was found, I was on the sidewalk, covered in flies, surrounded by bigger dogs trying to mount me. I had a skin fungus and severe conjunctivitis, and I could barely see. I am much better now, but I still need daily eye cleaning and drops, as well as dental care and soft food to help with my mouth.I am gentle, grateful, and ready to spend my golden years with someone who will love me every day. This dog is currently in foster care in La Paz, Mexico, but will be transported upon adoption or foster placement. As a U.S. nonprofit, Hope 4 La Pawz, handles all logistics and provides full behavioral and medical info in advance.
