Story
Meet your future best friend, Waddles 🐾✨
Waddles is a 4-year-old French Bulldog with a sweet, affectionate side and plenty of personality! She loves being outside, whether she's playing with a rope toy or ball or simply relaxing in the grass. Once Waddles trusts you, she is incredibly loving and will happily climb into your lap or nudge your hand when she wants more attention.
Waddles is looking for an experienced, adult home where she can be the only pet. She has shown guarding behaviors around her belongings and spaces she considers her own, particularly indoors. Interestingly, outside of these situations she is much more relaxed, social, playful, and affectionate. Her adopter should be prepared to use thoughtful management, structure, positive training, and gradual trust-building to help her feel secure and successful.
Waddles also has significant enlargement of her heart. Her current testing cannot determine how well her heart is functioning, so consultation with a veterinary cardiologist and a cardiac ultrasound would be the next steps for a more complete assessment. This additional testing and any future cardiac care would be the responsibility of her adopter.
As a French Bulldog, Waddles may also be predisposed to some of the respiratory, orthopedic, skin, eye, and gastrointestinal concerns commonly seen in the breed. Her adopter should be prepared for the possibility of ongoing veterinary care and discuss these considerations with their veterinarian.
Waddles has so much love to give and needs someone who understands that building a relationship with her may take patience, consistency, and baby steps. In the right home, she'll have the opportunity to feel safe, understood, and completely adored.
