Story
Meet Penny the Puggle: Penny (or Puggy as her foster mom calls her) is a petite puggle estimated to be around 1½–2 years old and weighs about 12pounds. She’s a gentle, sweet girl who’s still learning that people can be kind and trustworthy. Penny didn’t get the socialization she needed early on, and she came from a heartbreaking situation where she was bred and then dumped at a high-risk shelter. Because of this, she can be very timid with people and needs time to feel safe. While she may not approach on her own yet, she happily sleeps in her foster’s bed at night and lounges on the couch, showing that she wants closeness, just at her own pace. What Penny does love is chewing on bones, enjoying her meals, and playing with other dogs. Confident canine companions help her feel more comfortable and bring out her playful side. Penny is looking for a patient, understanding adopter who will give her the time and gentle encouragement she needs to build confidence and come out of her shell. With love, consistency, and a calm environment, this sweet little girl has so much potential to blossom into a devoted companion. Here comes princess Peaches! At 11lbs, this sweet little lady is in desperate need of home, more so than others. She just wants to be loved and held all the time, but her biggest issue is that she is people selective, and once she loves you, she`s fiercely loyal and lovable. Clever Peaches will let you know right away if she trusts you. Upon initial meeting her and picking her up, she may be very vocal before finally getting picked up. We think she may have had a traumatic past that causes her to react selectively to people. But once she`s comfortable with you, she`s an absolute love. Peaches just knows what works best for her, and we cannot wait until she finds her forever person who will give her that and more!(Peaches has what appears to be a heart arrhythmia that comes and goes with stress, as she is a Parvo survivor! (Houdini has a hearing impairment in his left-ear that may affect his daily life. A medical waiver must be signed during his adoption) Houdini must be a magician, because he has us all hypnotized! At 11lbs, Houdini is one magical little lapdog! He`s very good natured, and has the funniest bark. Houdini is hearing impaired (may be why he has a funny bark and grumble!) He also lives up to his name because he is a great escape artist! He can easily climb a gate or fence, so he needs a home with a very secure yard that has no areas he can climb up. Houdini is also great with other dogs his sweet temperament. If you have another dog, we recommend bringing them along to meet. You better adopt this marvelous boy before he [POOF!] disappears!
