Story
**AVAILABLE ON-SITE FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS** **Adoption fee waived for prior adopters, fosters and hosts** Golf is a sweet pup who recently came from a neglect/hoarding situation and is just beginning to learn what it means to live life as a loved pet. The progress they do make — a wagging tail, choosing to nap nearby, or trusting you enough for a little kiss — will be incredibly rewarding. With a patient, loving home and someone willing to put in the dedication, this pup will show you that every small step forward is truly worth celebrating. They do well with other dogs and would love to have another dog in their home as a companion. Golf is blooming — slowly, gently, and oh so beautifully. After 2.5 months in his foster home, something in him clicked, and this precious boy who once stayed tucked away in the lower section of the kitchen suddenly stepped out… and into life. The pup who never left his little futon now wanders the house with quiet confidence, and the boy who once froze at the thought of play is now the one instigating it! His pittie foster brother and his chihuahua foster brother have become his greatest teachers, and Golf has finally decided: “Okay… maybe joy really is for me.” He absolutely adores his dog siblings — trusts them deeply — and follows his pittie foster brother everywhere like a little shadow. If his pittie buddy moves, Golf moves. If his pittie buddy settles in for a nap, Golf is right there beside him. And for the very first time, he has left his kitchen space to sleep next to his foster mom’s bed, curled up right beside the big pittie dog he feels safest with. Golf watches the way the other dogs interact with his foster mom, taking notes, wanting so badly to be brave enough to join in. You can see it in his eyes — he wants love, pets, and connection — he’s just still learning how to trust human hands. But the desire is there. The longing is there. And he is trying… every single day. He is sweet, funny, gentle, and so deeply deserving of a patient, soft-hearted forever home. A home with another calm, steady dog who will show him the ropes is not just recommended — it’s essential. He thrives with canine companionship. He studies them. He learns from them. He feels safe because of them. Golf may take time. He may take several weeks — maybe months — before he fully lets you in. But if you give him the gift of patience, he will give you something priceless in return: The moment his eyes light up. The moment his tail wags just for you. The moment he steps toward you instead of away. The moment he trusts your love.... Watching Golf grow is witnessing healing in slow motion. Every tiny step is a victory, every bit of progress a miracle. And he is worth every minute — because this boy is on the brink of becoming who he was always meant to be. If you have room in your heart for a gentle soul learning to trust again, Golf will bless your life in ways you never expected.

Story
*** AVAILABLE ON-SITE ONLY FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS *** True to her name, Cuddles is a sweet and quiet little girl who loves being close to her humans and fur friends. Though timid at first, she’s incredibly friendly and warms up with a little patience and soft encouragement. Once she feels safe, she enjoys curling up near you while you work or relax—just happy to be part of the moment. Cuddles is learning to appreciate the finer comforts of being an inside dog! She has excellent potty manners and is making progress on leash walking. She sleeps peacefully in her crate at night and gets along great with her foster’s resident dogs. With her gentle nature and eagerness to connect, Cuddles has so much love to give, and a calm, caring environment is just what she needs to help her blossom. On a recent sleepover, Cuddles came face to face with a kitten, they just checked each other out and went on their way. No negative reaction on either side.. She would thrive in a home with another dog(s) and older children. If Cuddles sounds like exactly what you’re looking for, make an appointment to meet this sweet girl today!

Story
Porthos is a 8 year old Beagle who is sweet but very scared - he has obviously been mistreated by humans, so we are going slowly with him to gain his trust. He will need compassionate and loving humans to help him get over his fear. HOWEVER - he loves, loves dogs. They are validating for him and he will need a home with dogs to loosen him up. He doesn't seem interested in cats, but does love dog friends! Porthos is hw-, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. **Extra bonus points if you get his name reference!** To adopt Porthos, please go to apply.neshamarescue.org
