Story
Meet Pooh — a 6&#226&#128&#145month&#226&#128&#145old, 12 lb Bluetick Beagle pup with a heart full of sweetness and a nose that’s always ready for adventure.   Quick Facts: Name: Pooh Breed: Bluetick Beagle Mix Age: 6 months old Weight: 12 lbs. House-Trained: Working on it! Crate-Trained: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes (would love a playful sibling!) Good with Cats: Yes Good with Kids: Yes, best with kids who can handle puppy energy Energy Level: Medium (playful) Fence Required: No, but preferred due to her explorative nature   About Pooh’s Breed: Our best guess is that Pooh is a Bluetick Beagle mixed breed. Bluetick Beagles are known for their keen noses, curious minds, and cheerful, affectionate personalities. They’re classic little hounds—playful, expressive, and always ready to follow an interesting scent. Their striking bluetick coat pattern gives them a unique look, and their friendly nature makes them wonderful companions for families and other pets.   An ideal home for a Bluetick Beagle is one that offers plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and safe opportunities to explore. Because their noses lead the way, they thrive with a fenced yard or regular leashed adventures. They do best with families who appreciate their energetic, inquisitive spirit and can provide consistent training, companionship, and lots of love.   What to Love about Pooh: Pooh is playful, loving, and full of that irresistible puppy energy that makes every day a little brighter! When she’s not exploring or playing with her toys, she’s happiest curled up in bed, where she sleeps soundly through the night.   Pooh is still learning the ropes of puppy life — she’s mostly potty trained but may still have accidents, and she’s working hard on her manners, including understanding the word “no.” She’s crate trained and should be crated or gated when left alone, as her curious beagle nose can lead her into mischief. She rides well in the car (though drive&#226&#128&#145thrus aren’t her favorite), walks nicely on a leash, and is eager to keep learning with a patient, dog&#226&#128&#145savvy family.   She adores other dogs and would love a playful canine sibling to romp with! She’s also good with cats and would do well with respectful, dog&#226&#128&#145savvy kids. With her hound instincts, Pooh loves to sniff, explore, and follow scents, so a fenced yard or regular leashed adventures would make her very happy!   Pooh’s Precious Highlights: 6&#226&#128&#145month&#226&#128&#145old, 12 lb Bluetick Beagle puppy with tons of sweetness and playful energy Loves to explore and sniff — classic hound instincts in a tiny package Great with dogs, cats, and respectful kids Crate trained and should be crated or gated when left alone (curious puppy nose!) Mostly potty trained but still learning, as expected for her age Enjoys walks, rides well in the car, and is learning basic commands Plays wonderfully with other dogs and would love a playful canine sibling Sleeps through the night and loves cuddling when she’s not busy playing   Pooh is a remarkable little pup — sweet, energetic, curious, and full of love. She’s ready to grow, learn, and thrive with a family who can guide her through puppyhood and enjoy all the joy she brings!   Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. to ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Meet Cinnamon – A Devoted Little Shadow with a Big Personality Quick Facts: Breed: Chihuahua Age: 7 years Weight: 5 lbs House-Trained: Mostly – prefers outside and uses pads Crate-Trained: Not needed Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Not tested Good with Kids: No – adult-only home required Energy Level: Low Fence Required: No – extra security precautions required on leash Special Traits: Extremely loyal, lap lover, protective, thrives on routine Why You’ll Love Cinnamon: Deeply devoted and bonds intensely with her person Loves laps, being held, and constant companionship Confidently struts outside to potty like part of the pack Low energy and ideal for apartment or retired living Small, quiet companion in her home environment About Cinnamon’s Breed: Chihuahuas are known for their fierce loyalty and strong bonds with “their person.” They are intelligent, expressive, and often protective of the ones they love most. Cinnamon embodies the classic Chihuahua personality — tiny in size, enormous in devotion, and happiest when close to her chosen human. Cinnamon’s Story & Personality: Cinnamon is the definition of loyal. Like a typical Chi, she will choose her person and follow them everywhere like a tiny shadow. She must be in the same room as her human and won’t truly relax until she is. She adores laying in her person’s lap and being held, though she does have independent moments where simply sharing space is enough. She is fairly quiet and content when home with her person, but she is protective and can become very verbal if she perceives a threat — especially when someone enters the home or when she is taken out of her environment. Because of her intense loyalty, she can be vocal in new places or around unfamiliar people. Her foster has been working on calming techniques and is incredibly proud of the progress she’s made. Cinnamon prefers to potty outside and proudly marches out with the pack to do her business, taking her job very seriously. She does not want to be carried and enjoys confidently walking the area. She mostly uses potty pads indoors if needed. She thrives on routine and can be fearful of sudden movements or change, so her adopter must take extra precautions with leash security and transitions outside the home. Cinnamon’s Ideal Home: Adult-only household Quiet, calm environment Someone home most of the time Retired individual or apartment living is ideal An adopter who understands Chihuahua loyalty and protective tendencies Someone committed to secure leash handling and consistent routine Ready to Welcome a Tiny, Fiercely Loyal Companion? Cinnamon is looking for her person — the one she can adore, follow, and love with her whole tiny heart. If you’re seeking a deeply devoted, low-energy companion who thrives on closeness and routine, Cinnamon may be your perfect match. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. Story
Meet PoppyLeigh — a 8 month old, 12 lb Chihuahua with three legs and a brave little heart. Quick Facts: Name: PoppyLeigh Breed: Chihuahua Mix Age: 8 months old Weight: 12 lbs. House-Trained: Almost! Crate-Trained: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Not yet tested Good with Kids: No Energy Level: Medium to high, very playful Fence Required: Yes, this is a must! About PoppyLeigh’s Breed: Our best guess is that PoppyLeigh is a Chihuahua mixed breed. Chihuahuas are bold, confident and loyal. They are affectionate with their people but can be wary of strangers but warm up quickly. They are intelligent and trainable, though they may be a little stubborn at times, but they keep it interesting! They are also known to be vocal and love to “chit chat”! What to Love about PoppyLeigh: PoppyLeigh is a happy, playful, energetic puppy who loves to explore and be near her humans. She is almost fully potty trained, uses pee pads, and is crate trained — she even runs into her crate for treats and sleeps quietly through the night. Because she’s still learning about leashes and can be timid in new situations, a fenced in yard is required so she can safely build confidence at her own pace. PoppyLeigh is shy when meeting new people, but with patience and gentle handling, she will eventually warm up. Her person needs to be very patient and calm, giving her as much time as she needs to fully open up and trust. She enjoys the company of other dogs, and would love a canine friend to play with. She hasn’t met cats yet, but her nature suggests she’d likely be fine. PoppyLeigh had a growth plate that didn't fully close in one leg and had surgery to have one of her legs removed, but that doesn't affect her quality of life or slow her down one bit! She is faster and gets around just like every other dog! PoppyLeigh’s Highlights: • 8 month old, 6 lb Chihuahua with a stable orthopedic difference that doesn’t affect her comfort or happiness • Has three legs - but gets around better than most dogs with 41! • Almost fully potty trained, uses pee pads, and crate trained (sleeps quietly all night!) • Fence required — still learning about leashes and feels safest exploring freely • Timid at first but warms up with gentle, patient introductions, so she will need someone who can give her time to open up • Comfortable around other dogs • Medium to high puppy energy and loves to play • Very smart, trainable, and eager to please • Loves being near her humans and would enjoy a doggie friend for company Smart, loving, trainable, and full of joy — PoppyLeigh is ready to bring her unique charm and endless affection to the forever family who will adore her just as she is!
