Meet Lucy – A Resilient Soul Ready for Her Forever Home! 8 years old | 30 lbs | Dog-friendly | Amputee survivor Lucy came to RescueConnect Animal Rescue both emotionally and physically broken. She had suffered a severe leg injury that required amputation, but this brave little girl is healing beautifully and adjusting well to her new mobility. Initially shy—especially around men—Lucy is slowly blossoming in her loving foster home. With patience and kindness, she’s beginning to trust and seek out companionship. She does wonderfully with other dogs and would thrive with a confident, gentle canine friend to help her continue building confidence. Her experience with cats is unknown. Lucy prefers not to be crated and is currently working on housebreaking, which may be related to her mobility changes. A home where someone is around during the day would be ideal to support her continued progress. This sweet, soulful girl is looking for a calm, compassionate family who will give her the love and security she’s never known. Story
Jean Claude joined our rescue this summer. He is fully vetted, neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchip, and heartworm negative. Currently being fostered with a beagle companion, he would benefit from a home with a well mannered canine role model. He bonds quickly with his person, and can exhibit some typical chi behaviors including guarding or posturing. An ideal home would have expierence with the Chi breed, a loving dog friend to help him adjust, and a patient owner than can help him overcome some fear based reactions. After just a few days in a foster home he is already very loving and friendly. He is starting to engage with his foster brother and figuring out that he is safe and loved and never going back to the shelter. JC is being fostered in Wilmington, NC. Nala is a beagle/blue heeler mix that turned 7 in August and weighs about 35 pounds. She is a great companion that loves snuggling, going for walks, and playing. She would thrive as an only dog, and has shown great behavior and patience around kids when she is the only dog present. She is house trained and crate trained. She is up to date on everything and will come with a leash, collar, and e-collar (if wanted). Please reach out with any questions!!
