This handsome fellow is good with people, but he has never learned how to play with other dogs. He’s walking well on a harness and leash. He loves going on walks (where he won't encounter other dogs) and he’s shown that he enjoys going for a swim in the water. Farley loves getting one-on-one attention. Due to his history (see below), he will never be a dog that can go to a dog park, but he would love a fenced backyard to run and play in. If you’d like to have a single dog to cuddle and have no cats in your home, Farley would be a perfect buddy for you. Farley spent nearly all his life at the end of a chain. He was attacked by an animal, perhaps a dog, and received terrible injuries on his neck. Due to his history, Farley is reactive around other dogs while on a leash. Denzel needs one more vaccination before he is adoption-ready. We expect that to happen Wednesday, 1-21-26, so he will be ready to meet you at one of our adoption events over the weekend. Denzel (aka Denzel Washington) has undeniable leading-man energy. With his expressive eyes, soft black coat, and perfectly scruffy white muzzle and chest, he’s got that classic, distinguished look—even as a puppy. There’s a calm confidence about him; he seems thoughtful and observant, the kind of guy who takes it all in before stepping forward with quiet charm and steady affection. Denzel is part of the “A-listers” litter, born in our care after his mom—a 25 lb beagle mix—arrived pregnant from a farm on the Virginia/West Virginia border. With a small poodle dad in the picture, he’s likely to grow into an intelligent, people-focused companion who enjoys both playtime and quality downtime. Raised in a loving foster home, Denzel is off to a great start and ready to bring a little star power (and a lot of love) to his future forever family.
