Story
Bear is approximately 7 years old. Extremely loving and loves to cuddle. He is house and leash trained, likes taking baths, and gets along with cats, other dogs, and kids. He enjoys going for walks, but he is most happy lounging around the house eating snacks. All he really needs is someone to cuddle with. I’ve had Bear for the past 4 years, but I unfortunately need to find him a new home due to changes in my schedule.

Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. GOLIAD is a 1-yr old Pug mix...probably mixed with Pekingese. 15#. He is a scream...so happy, so much fun. He gets along with all the dogs. He does pester my cats sometimes...not wanting to kill...but they're so much fun to chase. My cats are not afraid of dogs and on occasion I have found Goliad literally playing with the cat and the cat was having fun. GOLIAD is housetrained and loves to go outside. He's not a woose. He barks some but not yappy. He loves toys especially if they squeak. He doesn't know how to play tug-of-war, though, but can learn. This is a great little dog. [Where did he get his name? Goliad (Go-le-ad) is a famous city south of San Antonio in Texas where an important battle was fought during the siege on the Alamo.] This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. You will receive the dog's folder with all the printouts proving the medical treatments received. Adoption Fee: Includes all of the vetting and transportation. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you will have the opportunity to find out more from their foster family or the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at shaynerescue@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. Story
AdoptAPet Inquires are not an application and will be ignored. Looking for a Foster or Adopter Damon is a 1.5 year old, 22lb pup who’s spent almost his whole life in rescue. He’s dog-friendly (happy to keep up with any play style or size), kid approved, and absolutely fetch obsessed. His embark DNA says he is 50% pug, 26% Australian Cattle Dog and 22% Miniature Schnauzer. The ACD energy definitely comes through! He loves playing with a herding ball or any toy for that matter. Damon is high energy, toy motivated, and happiest when someone is throwing a ball for him. He will play fetch for literal hours, take a quick 10 minute power nap, then be ready to go again. He's good with dogs of all sizes, kid friendly and walks on leash like he’s showing off for a parade, volunteers say he practically prances. Recently, Damon went on a volunteer field trip, and here’s what the volunteer said: Damon was stoked to be riding shotgun like a true passenger prince. When we arrived, he waited politely before hopping out, then pranced down the street at my side, bouncing along like the happiest parade marshal you’ve ever seen. Next stop? Fetch. Damon’s favorite thing in the world. His whole body lit up with joy. He scurried after the ball, skidded into the fence, then came charging back to drop it right at my feet, eager to go again, and again, and again. He even played fetch with my 4-year-old, gentle and patient every time. Damon could truly go all day if you let him! After fetch, we wandered through town. Damon acted like the mayor, greeting everyone we passed. One person even pulled over their car just to meet him! He stopped to pose with flowers outside shopfronts like a natural-born model, soaking up the attention. Finally, we hit Starbucks, where Damon waited patiently for his order. The barista handed over a pup cup, and his day had been officially made! This is Damon! Goofy, sweet, and ready for a forever family. After spending almost his entire life in rescue, he deserves to celebrate his next anniversary at home. Maybe with you? Story
Our sweet girl Penny, is a Pug/Jack Russell mix who has a big personality and an even bigger heart. Penny is incredibly sweet, intelligent, and full of life. She loves adventure and really comes alive when she’s exploring new places or visiting different dog parks. She does great with other dogs, especially in a pack setting, and truly enjoys being part of a social environment. At home, Penny is a cuddle bug who loves to relax with her people. She’s very treat‑motivated and enjoys interactive games, especially when she’s in the mood to play. While she appreciates an active lifestyle, she doesn’t require constant activity — she’s just as happy if you engage with her and give her love and attention. She enjoys chasing birds, playing active games, sun-bathing in the backyard, and showing off her quirky personality. And yes… she’s cute in that “ugly‑but‑adorable” way that makes you love her even more. If you're ready to welcome a loyal, fun‑loving dog into your home, we’d love to talk.

Lily is in urgent need of an adopter or a foster (could be a wonderful way to meet your next dog).Lily's Story PLEASE NOTE- AN APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG IS REQUIRED prior to any meet and greet. Calling, emailing or "inquiring" is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog.Meet Lily, a sweet loving dog with a sad story, she came out of a home that was split up due to domestic violence and had no place to go. Lily is a gentle dog who may be timid when you first meet her but she is gaining so much confidence already, warms up quickly and turns into an amazing girl who follows her foster around everywhere. She is about 30 pounds, about 3 years old, housebroken, great with dogs and has also lived with cats. Loves to cuddle and put her head on your lap. Looking for a quiet home where she can gain more confidence and become the incredible companion she was meant to be. Breed is a guess, looks like a mini boxer, probably pug with something else. The adoption fee is $450, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including age appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea/tick preventative, heartworm test if age appropriate and spay/neuter. All of our dogs will be microchipped.Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. APPLY AT ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG (click on the word "Adopt" at top of page to find the dropdown menu with application)We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging. Currently check, cash or venmo is preferred payment

We’re a cute, sweet, and slightly chaotic (in the best way) crew looking for our forever homes! Our favorite hobbies include collecting sticks like prized possessions, lovingly destroying stuffies, and showing off our Olympic-level zoomies in the yard. Seriously… we’re fast. Blink and you might miss us. We’ve started crate training and are already little overachievers, plus we’re doing really well with potty training (gold stars all around, please ⭐). If you’re looking for a fun, playful, and slightly goofy new best friend (or two 😉), we’re your pups! Local adoption fee is $250(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Primrose, Princeton and Percival's mom was abandoned at a home when her previous owners moved out. She was left out on a chain to fend for herself. Luckily the neighbors realized she had been left behind and took her in. She was in horrible physical condition and pregnant by to neighborhood stray (a black lab) that would jump the fence when she was in heat. It was reported by the neighbors that these 2 had had multiple litters together but none of the puppies ever survived. The neighbors children fell in love with mom and they are keeping her but needed help rehoming her very last litter (we assisted in getting her spayed). These pups are the most laid back and chill group I have ever seen.
