Story
To learn more about Coco please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org At just 9 lbs, Coco may be tiny, but her giant black-and-tan ears are basically a whole personality of their own. This chihuahua mix is a pocket-sized bundle of sweetness who believes every lap was made especially for her. Coco is the kind of pup who prances instead of walks, tilts her head at every new sound, and curls up like a cinnamon roll when she naps. She may be small, but her heart is huge… and right now, it’s wishing for one thing: a warm, loving home for the holidays.

Story
To learn more about Toby, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org Toby, a distinguished older gentleman, is looking for a loving companion to spend his golden years with! Toby is a friendly little guy, and wants to be near his people all the time. As an older fellow, he enjoys a lot of nap time, but out on his frequent walks, he is sprightly and spry. Toby loves people, and is also delighted with most dogs. He loves car rides, and treats (especially if his human friends want to share what they are having!). He knows to do his business outside, and is fine left on his own at home for a bit. As a pint-sized chihuahua mix, his mobility is good for his age- he can even still make the jump into his people’s bed, and keeps up a good pace on his walks. If you are looking for a relaxed, friendly, travel-sized companion, sweet Toby wants to me you!

Pint-Sized Cutie VIGGO NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Viggo and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (12/21) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Falls Church (6100 - A Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22044)!     Name:  Viggo            Best Guess for Breed: Chi Mix     Best Guess for Age:  13 weeks as of 11/27            SEX: Male   Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):  6lbs as of 11/27   Gets Along With:  Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Special Adoption Considerations:   Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Viggo is Looking For:  Hiya! I'm Viggo! I'm looking for a home that will let me play with toys and get my puppy zoomies out and give me snuggles in between playtimes. When I'm a little older, I can't wait to explore my new neighborhood on lots of walks, and I'd really like to make a bunch of doggie friends along the way. Oh, and I should probably take a puppy obedience class or two so I can show you how smart I am. What do you say? Do you have room in your heart for me? What My Foster Says About Me: Viggo is a joy! He’s very smart and is doing well with his house training. He’s learning wait, off, and is working on fetch. He’s become very playful in the two weeks that I’ve had him. In the beginning, he just wanted to observe, but now he’s an active puppy who wants to play. He has fab ears and it’s hilarious to watch him get the zoomies. He is teething. He loves socks and blankets. He looks great in sweaters and coats. He sometimes gives tiny nose kisses.  Puppy Vetting Requirements:        Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.      Due to this puppy’s young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered.  As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than February 24, 2026. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Lucky Dog to pay for this animal to be spayed/neutered at one of our low cost partner vets.   Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.   Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life! Please visit us online at        www.luckydoganimalrescue.org       . Please contact Ann Marie Burns (AnnMarieB@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Tiny pup with a giant heart! PAOLO NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Paolo and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (12/21) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Falls Church (6100 - A Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22044)!     Name:  Paolo            Best Guess for Breed:  Chi Mix      Best Guess for Age: 15 weeks as of 12/1/25        SEX:  Male   Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):   12.8 lbs as of 12/1/25   Gets Along With:  Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Special Adoption Considerations:  Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Paolo is Looking For: Hiya! I'm Paolo! Me and my littermates, Prada, Pocky, Pixie, Pooky, Pumba, and Polo, have loved our time in the puppy pile, but we are each ready to pack our bags and find our very own forever home! What My Foster Says About Me: Paolo is a fan favorite in my neighborhood.  He walks with an adorable, confident swagger for such a young pup.  When it's time for a walk, Paolo is always first in line amongst his littermates - take me, please!  He's also a smart dog who loves his toys.  Chew toys, puzzle toys - pretty much any toy makes Paolo happy.  Paolo is doing great with crate training and is learning to do his business outside. Paolo is a low rider that’s here, there and everywhere.  Until you put him on your lap.  Then he sinks in, still as can be, just loving every minute of his people's time.  He’s also a bit of a chatterbox and isn’t shy about sharing his feelings—good, bad, or “I just have opinions.” Paolo was the first in his litter (and possibly the only one!) to learn to sit politely for pets. Good boy, indeed. And soft…so, so soft. As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than February 18, 2026.
