Approximate Age: 6 Approximate Weight: 16 lbs Boo Boo – Wiggly, Chatty, and Full of Charm 🐾 ● Friendly, lovable little guy who has settled in quickly ● Happy, energetic greeter who lights up when his people come home ● Enjoys affection and pets — gives an adorable little whine for attention or play ● Good with other dogs and plays nicely ● Eats and sleeps in his crate (with a little encouragement) ● Rides well in the car ● Calm and patient for baths ● Alert barker — lets his humans know when something catches his attention outside ● Likes being near his people but isn’t a constant lap dog ● Loves perching on the back of the couch to survey his kingdom ● Food motivated and a bit pushy about begging ● Knows “sit” and “stay,” though he’s selectively obedient ● Takes firm, consistent correction (a little stubborn but tries) ● Good house manners overall, though still working on marking ● Tolerates a male wrap well and marking has already improved with consistency ● Has a surprisingly loud bark for a little guy ● Unknown with cats and kids, but shows zero aggression and would likely avoid what makes him uncomfortable *Needs Dental in the near future Boo Boo is a curly-tailed, wiggly-butted sweetheart with a gorgeous brindle coat and a smooshy face that begs for rubs. Story
Approximate Age: 6 years Approximate Weight: 12 lbs MANTIS is a lovely lady. She is much like an older car. She takes a little while to warm up, but once she does, she is easy going, dependable, and ready for a life-long journey. Toys are the gas in her tank...they literally make her smile. ● Very polite and respectful of other dogs and will often climb in bed with a friend at night or for a long nap. Another friendly dog in the home would be a plus to boost her confidence and be a role model. ● Uses training pads faithfully. She is smart and would likely pick up outside potty skills once she settles into her new surroundings. ● No food aggression. She is fed in her crate because there are six other dogs in her current foster home who all dine in their crates. ● Will seek attention and loves to be talked to. Not a fan of cuddling (at the present time). She is happy to rest and relax next to her humans for pets and belly rubs. ● The Universe has so much in store for Mantis. Would you like to be a part of her new life? If so, please complete and submit an adoption survey. Having been part of a hoarding situation with 100 other dogs, almost everything about living in a home with a family is new to Mantis. She is thriving and her happy personality is shining brighter every day in spite of a rough start in life. She is looking for an adopter that will give her much needed compassion, patience, and security. In return she will give you her big heart, friendship, and lots of smiles. ********************************************************************* Schedule a meet-and-greet by completing our Adoption Survey on the Adopt page of our website at https://www.olddominionhumanesociety.org/adoption-survey.
