Story
There's nothing quite like young dog sweetness and silliness, and then they put their beautiful heads quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm breath. These gorgeous pups are so pure and vulnerable with their whole lives lying in front of them, that it's unbearable to think of them homeless and alone on the streets or in a high-kill shelter scheduled for euthanasia. Mojo is a sweet as can be 10 month old, 30 lb Schnoodle (Schnauzer / Poodle mix) who is just waiting to be the love of a special family's life. Farfel's can't swear to the accuracy of this breed identification as no DNA test was done. This was the opinion of Texas veterinarians. All we know for certain is that this snuggly guy is irresistible. Mojo is starting out with great energy. While initially just a bit shy, this sweet guy is blossoming as he learns about living in a safe and nurturing environment with love and kindness . Now at 10 months old, Mojo's self esteem is growing every day as he learns that he's a very valuable guy that has so much to offer a dog-loving family. Mojo has a gorgeous, cottony-soft coat that is currently shelter-sad. He will require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming and excellent nutrition. Current research is very clear that a human-grade, fresh diet is the healthiest choice we can provide for our pets. Farfel's has had personal experience and therefore highly recommends Chi Diet (chidog.com) for far fewer vet visits and a long and healthy life for our best friends. Mojo is appropriately playful and inquisitive for his young age. He's also so loving and cuddly once comfortable in his environment. This snuggly guy would be very excited to be a couch potato and snuggle with his favorite people at the end of a busy and active day. Even at just 10 months old, it's clear that this pup is SO smart and very sweet - typical of both the Shnauzer and Poodle personalities. Some would say that this breed mix is one of most loving and intelligent family dogs in the canine population. Since Mojo is just a young guy, he's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. He has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion. Sweet Mojo will form firm bonds with his family and learn positive socialization skills through virtual or in-person positive reinforcement / force-free Obedience Classes. These classes will make a profound difference in a young dog's ultimate behavior and in his relationship/bonding with his people. It does take time and commitment yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's Rescue feels very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal training classes. We therefore aren't willing to adopt Mojo out to a home that doesn't choose to offer him this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person positive reinforcement / force-free trainers in your area. We would love to see Mojo in a home with a dog-crazy family (older kids preferred so there's no tail-pulling or awkward handling) or active retirees who have the time and love for a very sweet dog. We'd hate to see our social guy left alone all day while his family works full-time outside of the home. We think he's too sensitive for that kind of arrangement. He's such an amazing dog and just the right size to nap under the desk while his people are working or to accompany his favorite people just about anywhere a smaller dog is welcome..and would absolutely love it. Mojo will be up to date on his vetting / vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs. He has also been neutered to support our work in zero population growth in the canine community. Applications are currently being accepted for this gorgeous and sweet as can be pup who is learning about love and acceptance in his life. An adoption application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Mojo, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
Moose is a 7-year-old, 28 lb. Wheaten Terrier / Poodle mix boy with a big heart and a loyal personality. He is dearly loved by his family, who adopted him 7 years ago, but with young children in the home they can no longer give him the calm environment and attention he needs. Moose is affectionate, playful, smart, and deeply bonded to his adult humans. He loves snuggling, following his people around the house, fetch, tug-of-war, hide-and-seek, and relaxing nearby on work-from-home days. He even gives “hugs” by gently placing his paws on your shoulders and giving kisses. Moose is fully house trained, trusted loose in the house when home alone, and generally very well-mannered indoors. He knows many commands, including sit, down, stay, settle, touch, leave it, take it, rollover, high-five, hug, and get your ball. Moose has lived successfully with another dog and loved his Pomeranian sister for 5 years. He has also done well with doggie daycare and boarding, once given time to adjust. Moose’s best fit is an adult-only home or a home without young children. He has shown stress signals around young kids and would do best in a calmer household. He is also leash reactive and may bark or pull when seeing strangers or unfamiliar dogs, so he needs an experienced adopter willing to manage walks thoughtfully. Moose is treat motivated, loyal, affectionate, and very trainable. With the right home, he has a lot of love and companionship to give. Send us an email if you're interested in Moose at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly.

Meet Spinner  (and no, we don't get the name either) Surrendered to the shelter with this name already attached, and we have SO many questions. Does he spin? No. Chase his tail like a top? No. Turn the yard into a racetrack? Also no. Somebody, please explain yourselves.  Here's what we DO know: Spinner is a whopping 75+ lb of pure love, 6 years old, neutered, and handsome as all get out. He's billed as a doodle-ish mix, but give this guy a haircut and he could pass for a mini Irish Wolfhound.  The Spinner Rundown:  Loves car rides  Totally fine home alone while you run errands  Comes to the gym with his foster and just... vibes, soaking up all the attention  Cat-approved — the foster home's resident cat is his ride-or-die bestie The catch: Spinner does best as an only dog. He's picky about his fellow woof-woofs — didn't love sharing space with the foster home's two very submissive dogs (one a 100+ lb actual Irish Wolfhound, the other a Great Pyr/Lab mix). But give him a human, a car, and maybe a cat? He's set. Is Spinner your dog?  Apply at eapl.com — adoption fee $375   August 28, 2026, 7:15 pm

Story
Meet Malla, our sweet, happy little Wookie! 🩷 This 1.5-year-old poodle mix (yes, she sheds) may be a little shy when you first meet her, but give her about 30 seconds and she’ll decide you’re her new best friend—and she’d like to snuggle, please. 🥰. At only 11 lbs, she’s the perfect snuggle buddy. Malla loves playing with her canine foster siblings and is wonderfully friendly with dogs, cats, chickens, and people. She’s crate trained and seems to be potty trained, although her leash skills are still very much a work in progress. If you’re looking for a happy, affectionate little sidekick with an adorable Wookie vibe, Malla might be your girl. ❤️ Malla is being fostered in Fort Lupton, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/malla/. Story
Cassidy is a 10-year-old, 10 lb poodle mix who has clearly been through a lot. She has only three legs, along with mammary masses, a tumor on her jaw, and severe dental disease. She arrived at the shelter dirty, with long nails and a badly matted coat. So, we rescued her! We are taking care of her medical needs and then this sweet girl will be ready for adoption. Story
Meet Peter! Peter is a small, white Mini Schnauzer mix with a lot of personality packed into his little frame. Rescued from the shelter just in time, Peter has been given a second chance at life, and now we’re looking for his perfect forever home. Peter’s ideal adopter is an experienced dog owner who understands that some dogs need a little extra care and patience. Peter has shown some bite tendencies, and while we’re working with a trainer to understand his triggers, it’s important to be mindful of his boundaries. He doesn’t like being picked up and prefers not to be pet unless he comes to you first. When he feels safe and comfortable, Peter can be snuggly and affectionate—but it’s always on his terms. He is good with other dogs, so a canine companion could be a great fit for him. However, because of his biting history, Peter should not be in a home with children. Peter isn’t just a dog—he’s a work in progress who needs someone willing to invest time, patience, and love into helping him thrive. In the right home, Peter’s personality will shine, and he’ll reward you with loyalty and companionship. If you’re the experienced, patient adopter Peter needs, please fill out an application on our website. Peter is waiting for someone to see the good dog he truly is and help him live his best life. Once he warms up, Peter is incredibly affectionate and loyal. He would do best in a quiet household with adults or older children who understand his need for patience and kindness. If you’re looking for a sweet, devoted companion, Peter is ready to meet you and start a new chapter in his life!
