Story
Animal Profile: Ramen is an estimated 6 year old, 15 lb neutered male miniature poodle who was a hot mess when he was pulled from the Carson shelter. He was at risk due to overcrowding at the shelter but assessed to be friendly with people and dogs. We will share more about him as we get to know him in foster care.  Foster Update: Ramen is a cool little cup of noodles! He has been a quick study in foster care and is crate trained, potty trained, and walks well on leash. He loves to work and train and is very smart. He was recently introduced to odor detection work and his trainer said he was a natural. He catches on to new commands quickly and would love someone to work with. Ramen would do best in an adult only household. He sometimes takes time to warm up to strangers and he is more trusting of female companions. He has shown a tendency to resource guard when it comes to removing high value toys from his possession, but his trainer is working on tackling that behavior. Ramen is dog friendly, and would be best matched with a similar sized female dog his age. Ramen has had a lot of interest from families wanting a lap dog; he prefers to show affection through play and is not a couch potato. Ramen needs an experienced owner who comfortable addressing his guarding behaviors, willing to continue exercising his body and his mind, and able to commit to regular grooming. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575, which includes neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. Ramen's adoption also includes take home training and support from Nirvana K9 Training. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.   Apply online at  www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: Ramen was surrendered to Carson city shelter and transported to Dog Gone Seattle via Wiggle Butts arriving to foster care on 5/19/24; he is available for adoption in the greater Seattle area. May 23, 2026, 11:22 am

Story
Animal Profile: Smidget (who we call Sage),  Audrey,  and Tiny are 10 month old small but “leggy” German Shepherd/Poodle sisters who are ready for a new beginning! Born into a hoarding situation, they’ve already overcome a tough start, and thanks to our partners at Washington Health Outreach, they were able to find their way into rescue.  Now safe and healthy, Smidget, Audrey and Tiny are discovering the world for the first time ... grass under their paws, toys to chase, and gentle hands to trust. They’re still learning that life can be full of kindness and fun, but each day brings a little more confidence and a few more tail wags.   These girls are blossoming into the wonderful dogs they were always meant to be, and we can’t wait to see them continue their journey with families who will help them shine. Foster Update: More like a wild fairytale creature than a typical dog, petite Sage could pass for a coyote/fox hybrid and acts like a woodland sprite who accidentally found herself in the human world and is still trying to figure out the rules. In her current foster home, Sage has made great strides toward learning to be a dog. Initially scared of her own shadow, she’s integrated well into a large pack of dogs and loves running, playing, and wresting with dogs of all sizes and ages. She also likes cats and horses. Curious but still unsure of new people, it took a couple of weeks for Sage to start tentatively asking her foster mom for petting and affection. Sage now enjoys following her people around the house, comes when called, and is a sweet, soft, gentle presence who is just starting to show her silly, whimsical side. We have taught her to approach new people and “touch” with her nose as an introduction. She is fully potty trained and crate trained, enjoys daily routines, and is an ideal home office companion for her foster mom. Sage is looking for a home with at least one other friendly, playful dog who can act as a role model and friend, and a securely-fenced yard so she can safely run, play, and explore her world. This pretty, leggy little lady will do best in a patient home that finds satisfaction in helping a dog who got a rough start in life learn to trust and evolve into a more confident, loving pet. Sage is a special project who will be 100% worth the time and effort for the right home. Sage is looking for a calm home that can offer her structure and a routine with a family that has dog experience, and that can give the time she needs to be comfortable. She will need a patient and confident adopter who can show her the world is not so scary and provide the security she needs as she gains confidence. At this time, we are only considering homes for Sage with a confident friendly canine companion and a securely fenced yard. We are not considering apartments or homes with young children. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from our local rescue partner and arriving to our area foster care on 10/07/2025. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated.  May 23, 2026, 11:22 am
