Story
He is a sweet cat that loves to lounge around, get belly rubs, and sleep most of the time. However, he has considerable urinary problems. He is 4 years old. He was sold as a ragdoll, and looks like one but no papers to prove it. He is on a special prescription urinary diet and has episodes where he will urinate (often with blood) for three week stretches at a time all over the house. We aren't fully sure what causes it. It is uncomfortable for him but he hasn't ever fully blocked. I have seen multiple veterinarians about this issue and the conclusion has been to give him special food, gabapentin, prozac, and hope for the best. I have not found a cure for his episodes and they can be quite unpredictable. He may be fine for a couple months then have a flare for no obvious reason. He has lived with cats and kids just fine but doesn't seem to like dogs much.
