Story
Meet the adorable Frankie. He is a 9-month-old (DOB 04/08/25), 10-pound, Rat Terrier/Chihuahua/Spaniel mix with warm brown eyes (his mother Rosie is a Spaniel/Corgi mix) his father must have been a Rat Terrier/Chihuahua. He is slightly shy but once he’s used to you, he is loving and attentive. Frankie is friendly with other GENTLE dogs and would do well in a home with an existing dog. He prefers dogs his own size. He is a playful loving little guy. His pregnant mom Rosie was rescued by a local groomer. He was born in her home and she found homes for the rest of his litter but Rosie and Frankie came to AFC. FOSTERING SAVES LIVES! He uses a doggie door to go outside to potty but may need some additional house training. He is leash trained has been neutered. He is micro-chipped, currently vaccinated and ready for his new home. Frankie is a special little guy and will be a wonderful companion. Do you have room in your heart and your house for this love he would love to fill your home with love and joy! Story
Meet Our Handsome Snoopy! Say hello to Snoopy, an adorable 6-month-old, 11.7-pound, black & white, smooth-coated Rat Terrier / Chiweenie mix. This sweet boy is ready to steal your heart and become your new BEST FRIEND!! Snoopy is a loving and affectionate pup who loves to cuddle and be close to his human. He’s the perfect companion for someone who works from home or is looking for a loyal sidekick. While he may be a little shy around younger, playful dogs, we believe he’ll thrive with a canine buddy and enjoy some fun playtime with plush toys. Rescued from the freeway by a kind Good Samaritan after being turned away by a shelter, Snoopy’s story is one of hope and second chances. He was found in a tough spot but has so much love to give in return. Snoopy is scheduled to be neutered and is already microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to find his forever home. He will need some house training and leash training once fully vaccinated, but with patience and love, he’ll be the perfect addition to your family. Fill your home with joy, love, and puppy kisses — Snoopy is waiting to meet you! Story
Just like her namesake, Cupcake is irresistibly sweet and impossible not to love! Cupcake is estimated to be about a year and a half old and is a darling girl who is quick to make herself comfy in your lap. She is a total snuggle-bug who is happiest when she can be all cozy on the couch with her foster family. While she can be a tad shy, she has blossomed in foster care and is eager to make new friends. Cupcake is fully grown and weighs about 20lbs. Cupcake came to us from our local shelter after she was surrendered with a couple of other dogs when their owner was no longer able to care for them. The other two dogs got adopted quickly, but due to her more bashful personality and being overwhelmed in the shelter, Cupcake struggled to find a home. We were happy to welcome her into the rescue, and she has been doing great in a foster home and has shown us what an amazing little girl she is. Cupcake is the epitome of a sweetheart. She is affectionate, loyal, cuddly, and oh-so cute! She quickly made herself at home in her foster home and has been a great little houseguest. She is a moderate-to-low energy girl who loves her walks, but also is content to spend most of the day sunbathing and keeping her foster mom company while she works from home. She would be a wonderful companion for someone who wants an easy-going walking buddy. Cupcake seems to have her basic manners training down. Cupcake previously lived with other small dogs and enjoyed making dog friends at the shelter, but has been more than happy to be the only dog in her foster home. She could do well living with other easygoing dogs, or as an only dog. We haven't seen Cupcake around cats, but she may do well living with dog-savvy cats after a slow introduction. Cupcake could make a wonderful addition to a family with kids 10 years and older. Cupcake has been doing very well with her housetraining, but may have a few accidents while she is acclimating to a new home and routine. She has been doing well being crated for short periods and overnight. Cupcake is a quiet girl who may do well living in an apartment with proper daily exercise. Cupcake is such a fabulous companion. If she sounds like the love you have been looking for, submit an application today!   Cupcake's adoption fee is $250.   A pply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. January 29, 2026, 4:09 pm

Story
Meet Hopper ❤️‍🔥🐾 Hopper is a 5yr old, 11lb, Rat Terrier/mix. Hopper is a super sweet boy. Hopper is an active fella, that likes to go for walks, likes to run and play with toys, and likes to play with other dogs. Even though Hopper has old fractures on his hind legs, that doesn’t slow him down, he is faster than any other dog here at the rescue and loves to run around and play. Hopper gets along with all dogs of all sizes and ages, but likes to chase chickens. Hopper also loves to be held and loved on. Hopper may not know many commands, but that is ok, he is treat and love motivated and will come running as soon as you call him. Love and affection is what he craves. Hopper is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and up to date on his rabies vaccine. If you are interested in meeting Hopper, please fill out an application at www.broketailrescue.org.
