Story
Meet Adora 💕🐾 Adora is a gorgeous 22-pound, 1.5-year-old girl who absolutely loves to be loved! She is full grown! Adora came to us from a local gas station along the Texas/Mexico border, where she had likely spent almost her entire life. She was not spayed, and gas station employees reached out because a group of male dogs were constantly chasing her. We simply couldn’t let her continue living that way, so we stepped in and got this sweet girl to safety in early July 2026. And now? Her foster says Adora is pretty close to the perfect dog. ❤️ 🐶 What is Adora like? Adora is a calmer girl overall, but she gets incredibly excited when her humans give her attention. We think she may be making up for lost time after receiving so little individual attention during her life at the gas station. She is a true Velcro girl who wants to be wherever her people are. She is incredibly loyal, affectionate, and eager to please. Loyalty might as well be her middle name! • Cats? Great with cats! • Dogs? She loves other dogs, but she would also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only. • Children? We think she would be WONDERFUL with children. • Leash trained? Yes! • Crate trained? Yes! • Knows any commands? She knows how to sit and is very much a people pleaser. • 💕 Her best quirk? Adora has figured out the ultimate way to make sure her humans never leave without giving her some love. If she thinks you're about to walk out the door, she'll throw herself right in front of you, roll onto her back, and demand belly rubs! And honestly? She's very committed to this routine. She WILL get her belly rubs before you go. 😂💕 🌳 Adventure buddy or couch companion? Adora would love to explore the world with you and would make a wonderful adventure partner. But she is equally happy hanging out at home, relaxing with her humans, or enjoying the backyard. If you're in an apartment, we'd ask that you be prepared to give her plenty of activity and enrichment — and doggy daycare could be a great option for her. Most importantly, Adora wants her people. A home where someone is around more often than not would be ideal for this affectionate girl. 🏡 Her forever-home Wishlist Adora is crate trained and is currently working on mastering her house training. Her forever family should understand that she is still learning and be patient and willing to give her the time and consistency she needs. In return, you'll get an incredibly loving, loyal, affectionate companion who is just so happy to finally have people of her own. After spending so much of her life simply surviving, Adora is ready to learn what it means to be cherished. She is ready for belly rubs, adventures, cuddles, and a family who will never let her feel forgotten again. ❤️ Adora is ready to be your Velcro girl. Is she the one you've been waiting for? Adora is spayed, heart worm negative, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on de-wormer, and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport. Born on October 14, 2022, Kenna is a sweet, medium-energy girl who has so much love to give. When she first arrived, she was a little timid, but it did not take long for her true personality to shine. Once she feels comfortable, her adorable little nub tail wags so fast that it is impossible not to smile. Kenna walks beautifully on a leash and enjoys getting out for leisurely walks and spending time with her people. She does not need a fenced yard, making her a great fit for many different homes. Kenna seems to prefer the company of calmer, more laid-back dogs and would likely be happiest with a canine companion who shares her easygoing style. She would also do best with calm, respectful children who understand that she appreciates a gentle approach.
