Story
Punky may be petite, but don’t let her tiny size fool you—this little girl has personality for days.
Punky was brought into the vet with serious injuries to her tiny legs that required orthopedic surgery. Today, she has rods supporting those delicate little legs, and while we may never know exactly how her injuries happened, one thing we do know is that Punky is doing beautifully. She moves with incredible grace, running, jumping up and down, sitting pretty, and asking for pets as if she has never had a worry in the world. Her resilience is truly remarkable.
And then there’s her personality.
Punky can be a little shy when meeting someone new, but that shy streak is very short-lived. Once she settles in, she becomes the most affectionate little shadow you could ever hope for. If you’re looking for a dog who would happily snuggle you ALL DAY LONG, Punky is your girl. She loves being held, curling up on your chest or in your neck, burrowing under the covers, getting belly rubs, and giving kisses. Lots and lots of kisses.
She’s also absolutely hilarious. Punky has no problem making her opinions known, especially when someone disrupts her peace or steps out of line. She may be tiny, but she has absolutely no shortage of sass. Once she feels comfortable, you’ll discover a comical, expressive little girl who knows exactly what she wants and isn’t afraid to tell you about it.
As much as Punky loves being pampered, she isn’t a couch potato. She loves exploring, wandering through the grass, and rolling around outside. She enjoys experiencing the world while staying close to her people.
Punky is wonderful with other dogs and does well with dogs of all sizes and ages who are respectful of her tiny size. She is very respectful of her canine companions and expects the same in return. She understands that she’s a tiny girl, and while she has gained an incredible amount of confidence and will absolutely attempt to play with the bigger dogs in her foster home, she knows they need to be gentle with her. Play by Punky’s rules and you’ll have a best friend for life.
She is doing wonderfully with her potty training when given regular breaks and is a total crate-training pro. She willingly goes into her crate and will even choose it as a safe, cozy spot from time to time.
Punky is the most precious petite little cutie pie cupcake—and she is ready for a family who understands that tiny dogs can have enormous hearts and even bigger personalities. Because of her small size, delicate bone structure, and preference for a calm environment, she would do best in a home without young children where she can feel safe, adored, and completely spoiled.
Punky isn’t looking for anything complicated. She wants a person who will hold her, rub her belly, tuck her under the covers, take her outside to explore, respect her boundaries, and remind her every single day that she is exactly what she knows herself to be:
A princess.
And honestly? We think she’s right.
Punky is fostered in Reading (Berks County), Pennsylvania and is ready to find the family who will love her as fiercely as she will love them.
