Story
Meet Bret! Bret is a 1-year old male Australian Cattle Dog/Rat Terrier mix who weighs 30.7 pounds. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and heartworm negative. He is currently located in Spring Hill. Bret is a lovely, affectionate boy with tons of energy and enthusiasm for life. He absolutely loves to run and play, and he’ll happily soak up all the attention you’re willing to give. With his intelligence and drive, he would make a fantastic sports prospect or thrive with an active family that enjoys hiking, running, water activities, or other outdoor adventures. He does well with other dogs and would benefit from having another active canine companion to help burn off his energy. He is not a good fit for cats because he plays rough with them. His experience with small children is unknown. Bret is crate trained and leash trained. He heels well on a leash when given reminders. Bret also knows how to "auto-sit" when you stop walking. He is learning many other commands in training such as down, stay, come, and leave it. Bret is working on house training. Bret graduated from basic obedience and is now working on intermediate obedience. If you’re looking for a fun, athletic, and affectionate companion to share your adventures, Bret may be the perfect match! Apply to adopt www.ewenityfarmsbch.com

Story
PLEASE READ THE ANIMAL’S PROFILE AND ALL NOTES BELOW BEFORE APPLYING! Hi, I’m Mystery 🤎🐾 I’m a 1-year-old Rat Terrier with a gentle heart and the sweetest little soul. I can be shy when we first meet, but give me a day or two and I’ll be right by your side like we’ve been best friends forever. Once I feel safe, I’m all about cuddles, kisses, and spending as much time with my person as possible 🤎 I’m calm, quiet, and very loving, but I still have a playful side too. I love going on walks, playing around, curling up for cuddles, and giving lots of kisses. I’m crate trained, potty trained, and leash trained, so I already have great manners and know how to settle in nicely. I’m still learning my basic commands, but I’m a smart girl and eager to keep learning. What I really need most is a little extra socialization and a patient person who will help me build confidence at my own pace. Once I warm up, I’m incredibly loyal and just want to be close to the people I love 🐶 My ideal home would be calm, loving, and patient—somewhere I can feel safe and continue to come out of my shell. I’d do great with a small family, older kids, and I’d especially love a dog sibling to help me feel even more comfortable. I’d be happy in an apartment, townhome, or house, but a fenced yard to run and play in would be a dream. If you’re looking for a quiet, loyal little best friend who will shower you with love and kisses, I just might be your perfect girl 🤎🐾 Adoption FEE: $250 which includes her spay, microchip, and vaccines. It is also a donation to go directly back to us to help us continue to rescue more animals. Story
Meet Lexi - Speed, Smarts & a Whole Lot of Heart! If you blink, you might miss her… because Lexi is quite possibly the fastest dog at the sanctuary This beautiful black-and-white girl is a stunning mix of brains and athleticism. We suspect a blend of terrier and herding breeds (we think Rat Terrier / Border Collie vibes, maybe even a touch of Staffordshire), which makes her incredibly sharp, alert, and full of personality. Lexi is a true hunter at heart, curious about everything, always tuned in, always thinking. She would absolutely thrive with an active person or family who enjoys walks, playtime, and giving her little “jobs” to do. What makes Lexi special: • Lightning fast and super athletic • Very intelligent and quick to learn • Loyal and deeply connected once she bonds • Playful, curious, and full of life • Around 50 lbs of pure energy and love She’s the kind of dog who will keep you moving, keep you smiling, and keep you on your toes in the best possible way. And when the day winds down? That same energetic girl turns into a companion who just wants to be near her person. Ideal home: Lexi would do best with someone who understands active, intelligent dogs - someone who will give her structure, exercise, and engagement. She can be a couch potato also, she loves to snuggle with you and watch a movie. If you’re looking for a dog with personality, brains, and a spark that makes every day a little more exciting - Lexi might be your girl.

Story
Thank you for your interest in Mackenzie! If you care for more information, please email your name and phone number to: InquiryForNewHorizonDogRescue@gmail.com We adopt only to the Florida counties of Pinellas, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco and northern Sarasota. Mackenzie and his seven brothers and sisters were found at two days of age with their mother in a ditch in a desolate area of northern Florida. Mom is a beautiful, beautiful 29 pound white, young dog with perky ears (adorable!) with the maternal wisdom of Mother Earth. It is unclear how she found food. Luckily, the family was found and brought into animal control, whereby animal control contacted us asking if we would take her and the family. Mackenzie swims! He's so good at it. He is also litter box trained. The puppies are fed only the finest of quality nutrition. They have been to home improvement stores, the beach, pet stores, any and all to broaden their acceptance and understanding of the world.

Story
Luna is a 4–5-year-old, 30-pound dog looking for a forever home in the Tampa Bay area. She spent three happy years with her previous family before suddenly losing her home, but she has shown real resilience and continues to be affectionate, playful, and full of personality. She has a fun, silly side and loves catching toys midair. Luna is a dedicated cuddler who enjoys bedtime snuggles, couch time, and giving kisses to the people she trusts. She gets along well with other dogs—like her foster brother Domino—and would appreciate a canine companion, though she could also do fine as the only dog with plenty of attention. Luna has balanced energy: she enjoys walks at a good pace and would be a nice partner for biking or jogging, but she is not hyperactive and settles easily at home. She has made significant progress with her anxiety around thunderstorms and fireworks, now showing only mild nervousness, and she leans on her person for reassurance when she feels unsure. She seems to prefer men but has a deep bond with her foster mom, demonstrating her capacity for strong loyalty. Luna is good with respectful children who understand dog boundaries and would do best in a calm home environment. She is polite with food—though she eats quickly—and generally an easy, loving companion. She has been waiting patiently in foster care for over a year through no fault of her own and deserves a family who will cherish her kindness and spirit. ##2267870##

Story
This little 22 pound 11 yr old jack mix was found as a stray and brought into the shelter.. He has been with us since before Christmas, and has survived pneumonia and is doing great!! He is heartworm positive, and recentlly had a cardiac echo which showed his heart is working well. Riley will complete his heartworm treatment in April then be ready for his forever home. Riley is a very sweet, quiet, wise old man. He loves to be petted but does not insist on it. He can live with other dogs or by himself. He doesnt start any trouble and he doesnt finish it. He stays out of it. He seems to have not had much attention in his life but warms up quicky to anyone who will pet him or offer him food. doesnt play with toys. Riley loves a nice small dog bed. Loves lying in the sun on the porch and exploring the backyard. Walks okay on lead, but he is really not a dog that likes to go for walks. Riley is fine being left home alone. He is house broken and goes to the door. Currently on cardiac meds to help his heart and hopefully after heartworm treatment, he may not need them.. Riley is just a kind, sweet old man that really doesnt ask for much. Great dog for a retired older couple that isnt too active. A fenced yard is a good idea for him. He has the old age cloudy dog eyes, and his hearing may be a bit dim, but he sure can find that piece of kibblle!!!! Currently fostered in Bradenton. Please consider this calm quiet old soul!
