Story
My name is Roxie and I am an 8 year old Rat Terrier who ended up in the Miami-Dade Animal Services shelter unable to walk and no one knows why. The shelter was going to end my life and a rescue tried and tried to save me but the shelter gave me to this person who had a lot of money and they adopted me. They adopted me because they thought I would be a good motivator for their son, but the problem is that at the time, I couldn't walk and I had a really bad doggie cold and I felt really bad. And even though I think they had a bunch of money trees because they had a lot of money, they didn't want to take me to the doctor to help me feel better and to help figure out why I was having so much trouble walking. The people finally decided they didn't want me anymore and thankfully the rescue that wanted to save me when I was in the shelter heard that they didn't want me and told them they would take me and get me the help I needed. Since they surrendered me to the rescue, I underwent testing that revealed that I had a muscular issue which is all better after several weeks of laser therapy. My doggie cold is also better as well too. I am fully vaccinated, microchipped, and on all preventatives. The shelter adopted me out without spaying me, and the rescue wanted to make sure that I was medically clear first before spaying me, so I will be spayed before being adopted out. I am a nervous girl but I do love affection once I know that you're not going to hurt me. So please give me a chance. I don't remember what my life was like before I ended up in the shelter, and that's probably a good thing. I hope you will help me to make new ones that are happy ones where you are my mommy or daddy and you love me.
