Meet by appointment Meet Alfalfa: a sassy little Rat Terrier with big opinions and zero interest in keeping them to himself.Alfalfa knows exactly what he wants out of life: daily walks, plenty of outdoor adventures, a chance to show off his impressive trick repertoire, and a cream cheese-filled Kong enjoyed in peace and dignity. He`s smart, spirited, and believes clear communication is the foundation of every good relationship—especially when it comes to his personal boundaries. This sassy gentleman is looking for an adult-only home with experienced dog owners who appreciate a dog who comes with both personality and preferences. Alfalfa isn`t looking to just be managed; he`s looking to be understood. In return, he`ll provide entertainment, companionship, and plenty of laughs.Alfalfa may enjoy sharing his home with a cat.If you`re a fan of clever dogs with strong opinions and even stronger charm, Alfalfa is ready to interview you for the position of `his person.`If you are interested in adopting Alfalfa please email dogs@worcesterarl.org to set up an appointment to meet him.

Story
Little Johnny has such a big personality! This little rat terrier/dachshund mix fella only weighs about 10 pounds and can easily be picked up with one hand, but he makes his presence known. He’s a good alert pup and will run with the big dogs, as much as his little legs will let him. This little guy is not afraid of anyone or anything. He was born around the beginning of August 2026, and was found dumped on a dirt road with his sister June. Surprisingly, he is not much of a chewer, especially for a puppy. We have noticed that he might not be a hug fan of kids, but he has grown up with cats and is fine with them. Johnny is crate and house trained, sleeps through the night, and loves lounging in the sun in his x-pen. He loves being held, though he likes to run, so will ask to get down after a few minutes. But he stays close by in the yard. Johnny has had age-appropriate shots, dewormer, and flea/heartworm prevention. He will be neutered before going to his new home. We don’t get many small dogs in foster, so if you’ve been waiting on a smaller breed dog, now is your chance! If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/forms PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our rescue pets are fostered in Southern foster homes (unless otherwise stated) and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!

Story
Meet Skipper! ❤️ 🐾 Skipper is (estimated at 9 years young) an auburn chipper male. Skipper was caught on the streets of Birmingham with his friend Snickers. So, we honestly think they came from the same home. Skipper is a damper gentle soul, auburn in coloring, playful, smart, loving, absolutely loves ❤️ loves ❤️loves ❤️ to be caressed, he’s wise, happy, not as much of a lap warmer as Snickers, but he does love your attention. He has long graceful legs and is a hoot. 😂 He loves car rides and does perfectly when traveling! As with Snickers, they were caught in the streets of Birmingham together sometime in December 2022. Both are both house trained with regular trips outside. A fenced backyard would be great and preferred! Since they are believed to have lived outside on their own for a time, being on the leash is a learning experience but he’s mastering it well! Skipper is very much loved in his foster home and they can’t wait for him to find his perfect family! 🥰 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Story
All interested people should submit an adoption application as their first step. Hello there! I know what you're thinking: you see my bowtie and think 'Wow, this dog is very important. He must have a very serious occupation.' And you would be right. As of today, I am no longer Archie the dog. I am now Archibald, Attorney at Paw. I specialize in representing other dogs when they are the victims of terrible crimes, like humans not sharing their snacks, or being forced to take a baths, or not getting pup cups regularly. I take my new job very seriously. I may be small at 28 pounds, but my sense of justice is mighty! Now onto my qualifications. Did I go to law school? No. Did I pass the bar exam? Also no. Did I even go to obedience school? No again. But my foster pawrents say I'm smart and food motivated, so that's good enough I think. I'm good with adults and everyone loves me, so I'm sure I can use my charm and good looks to win anyone over - including judges and other lawyers. Sometimes I get overwhelmed with young kids, so I am looking for a courtroom that is adults and teenagers only! I also am good with other dogs, so I will relate well to my clients. I'm a young attorney at only 1 year old, but I am a very energetic pup and I feel like I can channel that energy into being the best lawyer ever! There's only one thing in the way of me being an attorney: I need somewhere to practice. My foster home said I could stay here until I found a new place, but I know I can't stay here forever. Maybe you have room in your heart and home for a dapper, energetic, ambitious little guy who loves bowties? If you are interested in adopting Archie, please submit an application on our website www.derryhumanesociety.com  All pets adopted from GDHS are spayed or neutered, have vaccinations brought up to date, are on heartworm preventative (dogs), FIV/FELV tested (cats) and microchipped. The Greater Derry Humane Society does not have a physical shelter, and all visits are by appointment only. October 30, 2026, 5:51 pm

Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet. Oreo's owner has had her for 5 wonderful years but then the family had a baby and the baby became a toddler and it has all been too much for Oreo, too much unbounded kid, not enough space. She loves to cuddle, loves attention and being petted.  She will let you know if you start to slack off petting her.   She would love an active family with older respectful kids.  She loves to play fetch and to run.  Her trainer suggested agility training as she is incredibly fast and agile.  We think she would thrive on the challenge of a course and competition.  But even if she just went running and hiking with you, she would be an excellent companion who would keep you both motivated. She can be OK with other dogs, as long as they are at least medium to large size, not small ones. Age: 6 years Weight: 37 lbs Temperament: Gets along with dogs her size and larger, all adults and older respectfule kid, no toddlers Training: Housetrained Vetting: Spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative Email for questions:    http://musicadisanto@yahoo.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit.October 30, 2026, 12:17 pm
