Story
Meet Pablo – The Smart, Sensitive, and Snuggly Little Gentleman Adoption Fee: $399 Adoption Application - Copy & Paste https://forms.gle/FmtRtYxQNnemdkdw9 Pablo is a seven-year-old terrier mix who’s as sweet as he is smart! He’s neutered, up to date on vaccines, and is on monthly heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. He’s crate trained, house trained, and overall a very well-mannered boy. Pablo gets along great with dogs his size or smaller, but he can be a bit bossy with larger dogs. He’s not cat-friendly — not aggressive, but he loves to chase cats, which can make things stressful for them. He’s done well meeting polite, well-behaved children at adoption events and would do fine in a calm home with older or gentle kids. This handsome little guy loves walks, car rides, and curling up for cuddles on the couch (bonus points if there’s a blanket involved!). He’s also happy to sleep in a dog bed, on a blanket, or even in his crate without fuss. Pablo would love a securely fenced yard to explore because he does have a curious side and enjoys visiting the neighbors when given the chance — so a fence or leashed walks are a must for his safety. If you’re looking for a smart, cuddly, and devoted little dog with a big personality, Pablo might just be the one for you. Story
Meet Skipper! ❤️ 🐾 Skipper is (estimated at 9 years young) an auburn chipper male. Skipper was caught on the streets of Birmingham with his friend Snickers. So, we honestly think they came from the same home. Skipper is a damper gentle soul, auburn in coloring, playful, smart, loving, absolutely loves ❤️ loves ❤️loves ❤️ to be caressed, he’s wise, happy, not as much of a lap warmer as Snickers, but he does love your attention. He has long graceful legs and is a hoot. 😂 He loves car rides and does perfectly when traveling! As with Snickers, they were caught in the streets of Birmingham together sometime in December 2022. Both are both house trained with regular trips outside. A fenced backyard would be great and preferred! Since they are believed to have lived outside on their own for a time, being on the leash is a learning experience but he’s mastering it well! Skipper is very much loved in his foster home and they can’t wait for him to find his perfect family! 🥰 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our rescue pets are fostered in Southern foster homes (unless otherwise stated) and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!

Story
Meet Princess 🌸 Princess is a 12-year-old Rat Terrier with a tender heart and a gentle spirit. This sweet girl recently lost her beloved dad, and while she doesn’t understand why her world changed, she knows she’s ready to love again. Now, Princess is hoping for a quiet, caring home where she can enjoy her golden years feeling safe and cherished. True to her name, Princess is a lovely lady in every sense. She is fully house trained, walks nicely on a leash, and is wonderful in the car—happy to accompany you on peaceful drives or cozy outings. She has a calm, affectionate nature and would be perfectly suited to retire with an older couple or a relaxed household that enjoys companionship and routine. Princess gets along well with both dogs and cats, making her an easy and gracious addition to a loving home. She is spayed, up to date on all her vaccines, and ready to settle into a life of comfort and devotion. She recently had a dental. Princess isn’t asking for much—just a warm place to rest, gentle hands to pet her, and a heart willing to love her as deeply as she will love you. If you’re looking for a loyal companion to share quiet moments and unconditional love, Princess may be the one you’ve been waiting for. 🐾💖
