Story
Phoebe is a definite Rat Terrier mix around 3-4 years of age. She was found running at large with little Rachel in Taney Co. Missouri. She is a littel shy at first, but a super sweet girl. She does climb out of the pup pen that is 4ft tall so a secure yard for her to play in with a privacy fence would be great! She is a little alpha acting with other dogs, but does like their company. Active girl and super pretty too!  ##1734559##

Story
No fault of his little Luke was surrendered to us. He needs an active home with older kiddos as he loves to jump and chase as most Terriers do. He is a fun boucy little guy that needs a fenced yard or to be on leash when outside due to also his terrier breed.  ##1857570##

Story
** This SENIOR GUY is looking for a family that will give him a few more years of Family Love!! Meet " JR EWING "!  A 16 yr old, 15 lb, Rat Terrier Mix and we think he's mixed with either  Dachshund or Corgi!  He's got a long body & short legs, and cute little scruffy face! His owner went to jail and left him behind to fend for himself. When rescued his skin was in terrible condition with a lot of fur missing due to flea dermatitis. He'd been bit by so many fleas, it caused bloody red skin. Poor guy lived like that for a while. He's currently on antibiotic medication to help the skin and about 2 baths a week with medicated shampoo. He's starting to have little nubs of fur growing out of the bad areas. JR would LOVE to find a family that would love him and give him a great life for the years he has left. Other than the skin issue, he is in good condition and is such a "low key" guy! He lays around a lot but does get a bit "Spunky" when you play a little with him; bouncing and dancing the old man dance! He is housebroken.   He goes down the steps to go outside, but still struggles going up the steps, prob because of older legs, so the fewer the steps the better. Once his skin heals and fur comes back, he should be back to health and just wants to retire with a family!     If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. JR Ewing’s adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. Pontus is an awfully big name for a pup like me to have :) I mean, the kingdom of Turkey?? I am just a little bit immature for that kind of responsibility! However, I can handle the cute face and puppy eyes to get you to adopt me!!! :) Seriously! So I am a terrier mixed boy, about 25# right now and likely about 30 to 40 # full grown. I am smart, I am happy and very loving! I love other dogs and will play all the time! I love kids and all big people too! i am just too cute to have to explain anything else about me, ADOPT.....DON'T SHOP!!! OUR LIVES' DEPEND ON IT!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $500 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Story
SOOOOOO how many people remember Starsky and Hutch?? Probably not too many! But if you DO, please don't prejudice us with the "wildness" of our namesakes'! OK, we are a LITTLE wild and cute cute cute! Found in a neighborhood together at about 2-3 months old, we could have had a very different life.... however, we were found by a couple of high school boys who immediately drove us to the rescue to see if they would help at 5pm on a Friday evening. AND IT WORKED!!! We are a couple of cute boys, we are barkers and that is part of the breed- Rat Terriers are busy and smart and active and they bark! We are cute when we bark though :) We do not have to be adopted together, although we love each other and have been together our WHOLE lives.... but we can be adopted apart. We may be nervous at first if adopted separately but if you follow the 3/3/3 rule, it will take us time to adjust in our new home anyway!! (you will find a copy of the 3/3/3 rules in our medical record if you adopt one or both of us) We are waiting for the right family/families to come along and we hope that we find you or you find us soooonnnnn!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)
