Story
🐾 Meet Tina, Louise & Gene! 🐾
Tina, Louise, and Gene are three adorable little pups who are ready to put a complicated beginning behind them and start the next chapter of their lives! We believe they may be Rat Terrier/Cattle Dog mixes, but when it comes to their breed, your guess is honestly about as good as ours. Based on their current size and build, we suspect they may grow to be around 25-ish pounds when fully grown, give or take. Of course, with mystery mixes, there are no guarantees!
These three were initially seized by the Sheriff’s Department and spent the past few weeks waiting while the legal situation surrounding their case was worked out. They have now officially been released to Claws & Paws and are finally ready to find families of their own!
At about 3 months old, Tina, Louise, and Gene are at such an important age. They are sweet-natured, friendly, affectionate pups who love attention and are ready to soak up everything the world has to offer. They are also at the perfect age for their families to begin building the foundation for the confident, well-mannered adult dogs they will someday become.
And while puppies are undeniably adorable, they are also a LOT of work! Their new families should be prepared for potty training, crate training, puppy chewing, learning to walk on a leash, basic obedience, and plenty of patience. They will need consistent boundaries, positive reinforcement, and lots of opportunities to learn what is expected of them.
Equally important is socialization. At this age, puppies benefit tremendously from safe, positive experiences with different people, sights, sounds, surfaces, environments, handling, car rides, and eventually other appropriate dogs. The goal isn't to overwhelm them with everything at once, but to help them learn that new things are nothing to fear. These early experiences can make a tremendous difference in the confident, adaptable dogs they grow into.
Tina, Louise, and Gene aren't looking for someone who expects a perfectly trained dog right out of the gate. They're looking for families who understand that raising a puppy is a process—and who are excited to be part of that process. In return, you'll get to watch a little puppy personality unfold, teach them all the things, and build a bond that can last a lifetime.
Their past may have been complicated, but their futures don't have to be. ❤️
Come meet Tina, Louise, and Gene and help give these sweet babies the happy ending they deserve!
