Story
Pippi is a goofy companion whose world has recently changed. Originally adopted as a puppy, she has found herself back in a shelter environment due to a shift in her previous owner's life circumstances. Being back in this setting is understandably overwhelming for her, and she is initially fearful around people. However, once she feels safe, her true personality emerges, and she connects deeply with the people in her family. When she is comfortable in her element, Pippi thrives on a wide variety of fun activities, including running, going on walks, riding in cars, playing fetch, and even swimming. She is already house trained and crate trained, making her well-prepared for a familiar household routine. Once the energy of play is done, her goofy side easily gives way to her affectionate nature, and she loves nothing more than to settle down and cuddle. This family companion is ready to step into a patient routine where she can feel safe again. Don't wait to meet Pippi.

Story
Smart and trainable. Good with and protective of children and home. Dislikes physical violence of person against person. Needs exercise. Large yard or pasture would be perfect. Has run out door, but has always come back. Scared of lightening. Enjoys snuggling in bed at night. Dislikes crates and cages, but will enter with encouragement and treats. He has snapped and growled at our 1 year old, but does great with older kids like our 11 and 12 year old.

Story
Age: 1½ years, close to 2 Weight: 11–13 lbs Breed: Rat Terrier mix Vaccinations: Current Neutered: Yes He is gentle, calm, very friendly, and playful. He loves attention and playing and is friendly with both children and other dogs. We originally got him hoping he would be a companion for my 22-year-old son, who has special needs. Unfortunately, my son has not been comfortable interacting with him, and I have also recently developed significant health issues. With my son’s ongoing therapies, upcoming long term travel, and family responsibilities, we are no longer able to give him the time and attention he deserves. We adopted him from Williamson County Animal Shelter and have checked with them as well as other shelters, but unfortunately they are unable to take him back. We really don’t want him to go back into the shelter system and would much rather see him go directly from our home to a loving family. ❤️

Story
Meet Nanna! 🐾💗 Nanna is the kind of dog who can go from zooming after a ball to curling up in your lap in the blink of an eye. This adorable 26-pound Jack Russell/Rat Terrier mix is sweet, playful, affectionate, and ready to be your new adventure buddy—and your favorite cuddle bug. 🥰 Nanna absolutely loves being with her people. She’s a total lap dog who enjoys kisses, belly rubs, and curling up beside you with her head in your lap. But don’t let her cuddly side fool you—this girl has some serious athletic skills! She loves running, sniffing and exploring, playing tug, chasing toys, and even chasing the water hose around the yard. One foster laughed watching her leap into the air to catch a ball before settling right back down for some affection. 💕 Nanna is also house trained, great on leash, relaxed in the car, and comfortable when left alone. During a three-week sleepover, she settled into a household routine beautifully and was described as easy to take places. She loves walks and outdoor play, but she also knows how to turn the volume down and relax with her people. And what about her social skills? Nanna has shown herself to be a friendly little social butterfly. Her foster families report that she loves adults, children, and other dogs, and she has successfully enjoyed playgroups and one-on-one interactions with dogs. She’s curious, outgoing, and eager to make friends. 🐶✨ With consistency and patience, Nanna has shown that she can thrive—and APA! offers lifetime behavioral support to help adopters along the way. Nanna is sweet, smart, fun-loving, and full of personality. She’s looking for someone who wants a dog who can keep up for an adventure, then happily spend the evening pressed against their side. If you’re looking for a loving little companion who is ready to fill your days with playtime, kisses, and plenty of snuggles, Nanna would love to meet you. 🐾❤️
