Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Dottie is a medium sized, 2yr old treeing walker hound mix. We normally don't emphasize this in rescue, but we think Dottie would be happiest if she got adopted by someone who likes to hunt and can give her this outlet. She is showing all signs of having every instinct for this and maybe even being trained or having hunted in the past. She was found as a stray, so we don't know her background exactly, but boy does she have the treeing/hunting instincts! We really believe she would be in her highest heaven being able to go hunting! We do want her to be part of a family and be able to live inside also, so that is ideally what we are looking for. She has the typical goofy, fun-loving hound attitude. Can be calm and relaxed and at other times lets out her hound voice! She is a dominant dog, and will show other dogs she is boss. As long as the other dog is more submissive she does just fine. She has been out in fence playing with pack of other foster dogs, again has done fine after she shows them she is the boss lady. Has been attentive and can be easily redirected. Comes when called, but at times her hound nose keeps her distracted. Dottie is a typical 2yr old dog, needing moderate to high levels of exercise. She was found as a stray and saved when skin-and-bones. She knows basic commands. She even gives big hugs!
