Story
EJ is a fun, young hound. He needs someone active, with a big outdoor life that will take him on adventures. He is affectionate and loyal to those who show him love. He would prefer to be the only dog as he doesn't like to share. He is not good with cats or other smaller animals or small people. He really wants to be a working dog.   For more info about EJ and our adoption process please enclose your phone number with your inquiry or call Jacki at 941-587-4612. November 2, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
MEET DARLA! - I am in a foster home, please come meet me at the Boston shelter Thursdays-Sundays!Hound enthusiasts, rejoice! Darla is the sweetest little hound dog, only 32lbs and full grown, with big ears and bigger heart. She loves snugs, blankets, and time with her loved ones. She is quite smart and engaged when it comes time for some training and loves her pupperoni treats! Darla is very chill and would do great in a family household with lots of love and attention. She adores other dogs and could do well in a home with a compatible canine friend as well. She also comes with a custom knit sweater, made by her very talented and loving foster!Upon examination, Darla was found to have a mammary mass that was removed by our vet team at the time of spay. Mammary masses are common in unspayed adult female dogs. Our vet team removed a mammary tumor with clean margins, and biopsy results showed it is a carcinoma with no sign of spread. While there is a slight chance of reoccurance, her young age and current health status means her prognosis is fair. My friends describe me as: Communicative, Friendly, ResilientDarla is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and seen by our vet team. For more information on Darla or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY. However, we will be unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements.

Story
Penny is docile and gentle but very lonely. We are out of the house 8-10 hours a day during the week. Sometimes longer on weekends. Sports tournaments etc... She is a great family dog but would also be a wonderful companion for someone looking for a new best friend. A couple walks a day and a dog biscuit/treat after each stroll is all she needs. Loves going for car rides running errands. Happy waiting for you. Just wants to be out. Her loneliness is heartbreaking. We want to see her happy and all alone in big house ain't doing it. We have everything she needs and more. Everything except time for her. So sad. All her shots are up to date and we have beds, blankets, toys she doesn't play with and a crate she would nap in with the gate open. She has never really used it.
