Story
Our handsome Fabio is that exceptional, all around family dog, that is rare in rescue. He loves everybody and has not flinched at all during a rescue process that leaves lesser dogs rattled.  We've been trying to piece together Fabio’s backstory, but there's not much to go on. He was found as a country stray, by Animal Control Officers in Charlotte County, North Carolina. Vets say that he is a two year old adult dog.  When no worried owner came forward to collect Fabio, he was transferred to our Connecticut Rescue so that we could script the next chapter of his life.  Throughout the chaotic rescue process, Fabio has been an absolute charmer. He is so full of life, love and personality. He is a gentle, sweet boy who loves everyone. Fabio still has a bit of the puppy Mojo going on, but he is easily exercised with a few daily leash walks. He is a super dog that would do well in any type of environment. Fabio needs a fair amount of exercise and focused playtime so that he does not become bored and get into mischief. He would benefit greatly from ongoing obedience training, which is helpful in providing additional mental stimulation. He is learning his commands, although he can become distracted easily, but he is treat motivated. He responds well to Positive Reinforcement and Leadership techniques, and seems to enjoy his training sessions. He seems to be a confident boy, ready and willing to work. Fabio has good house manners, and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that will inevitably occur during his transition to a new home. He has been neutered, and has received routine vaccinations and health screenings. Story
We really need help rehoming our dog Cobi. He is a 4 year old 80 pound half Dane mix. We rescued him 3 1/2 years ago and love him dearly . He bit someone that came into our home a couple of years ago and now we are moving and can’t bring him with us. He is overprotective of his family and our home. He can be aggressive because of that but he is very well trained and a good listener He also love to cuddle and go for walks and car rides We had arranged for him to go to our niece’s ranch but just found out that she can no longer adopt him. This is very difficult and we just want what is best for him. Please let us know if you can help and thank you!

ARNOLD

Bloodhound

Male, Adult
Cranston, RI
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Arnold is a big hearted boy with the soul of a retired gentleman and the body of a small horse. *Please note: Arnold is currently in a foster home and can be met by appointment only. Please email us at HeartofRIAdoption@gmail.com or call (401) 467-3670 to schedule an appointment to meet him.* At 106 pounds, he’s bringing presence but don’t let the size fool you, this dog is all soft edges and slow blinks. Arnold lives for the simple things: a sunny patch of grass, a good sniff (or 400), and the quiet satisfaction of existing near his people. He’s wonderfully easygoing and is the kind of dog who makes your home feel calmer just by being in it. He is like a weighted blanket with ears. Arnold a social guy too. Great with other dogs, respectful with cats, and polite enough to keep his kennel spotless because, frankly, Arnold considers himself a proper gentleman. He prefers his bathroom breaks outdoors like the refined soul he is. He’s currently working on leash manners and learning that not every smell requires a full investigative documentary, but he’s making steady progress. With a little patience (and maybe letting him read a few scent based novels along the way), Arnold is going to be an incredible walking companion. If you’re looking for a loyal, low key, slightly drooly best friend who doubles as home décor, Arnold is your guy!
