Red is a 6 year old Redbone Coonhound with a gorgeous deep mahogany coat that pictures simply don’t do justice. He is absolutely stunning! Red is currently pretty underweight, but once he fills out, we expect him to be around 80 to 85 pounds. He is a low energy guy who loves spending time outside and taking in his surroundings. He has that classic hound combination of being sweet natured, easygoing and a little independent. He’s perfectly content doing his own thing and enjoying life at his own pace. Red does well with other dogs but mostly ignores them, so while he can happily coexist with canine roommates, don’t expect him to be a playmate for your current dog. In true hound fashion, Red isn’t afraid to use his voice, so apartment or shared wall living would not be a good fit. This boy loves to talk. A securely fenced yard is preferred. Hound experience is a plus, but not necessary for someone educated on the breed. Red is neutered, up to date on vaccines and takes monthly flea, tick and heartworm preventatives. If you’re looking for a handsome, mellow companion who is past the puppy nonsense, Red might be your guy!
