Max is 4 years old. He is a Rhodesian ridgeback mix who has high energy and loves to go running. Max does not care too much for other dogs or humans. He warms up with time. He loves to explore off leash when hiking. He does learn new things if you train him, such as shaking paws or catching snacks. He is actually a great watch/alert dog. All bark no bite. Strangers are scared of him when they see him barking but he has never harmed anyone if you are looking for that type of security. He is sweet and needs someone that can give him more time and energy (something we ended up not having eventually).

A5758970 Say hello to Maya, a 1-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback/Pitbull mix who is one sweet, chonky little love muffin! Her silky nutmeg brown coat, adorable spotted sock feet, and smoky eyeliner and muzzle make her absolutely irresistible. Still just a baby, Maya would benefit from learning the puppy basics like leash work, potty training, and commands, along with continued socialization. She came to us from Carson, where she was such a volunteer favorite that some of her fans even came to visit her here! Maya can be a bit shy at first, but give her a little time and patience and she blossoms into the most loving companion. Once she trusts you, she’ll give you her whole heart and be your most loyal, devoted girl! -1 year old brown Rhodesian Ridgeback/Pitbull mix -64 pound spayed female -may need the standard round of shots and preventatives before she can go home with you, but the shelter can likely help with this! -came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 3/19/26 as a transfer from the Carson Animal Care Center -such a gem - and a volunteer favorite - that will make any family unbelievably happy! -due to her young age, may need some work with the puppy basics, but she’s worth the investment -understandably a bit scared at the new shelter, but warms up quickly and wants nothing more than to love and be loved     MAYA’S VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/bG For more information, contact volunteer Lor at  lor@unitedhopeforanimals.org Look up this or other animals at Baldwin Park Animal Care Center https://animalcare.lacounty.gov/view-our-animals/    Use their unique ID NUMBER.
