Story
Pryncess may have a name fit for a throne, but she’s actually a very modest and quiet girl. She is a shy-but-sweet soul who prefers to observe from the sidelines until she knows she’s safe. Once she trusts you, however, she reveals her true colors—a devoted, tender-hearted companion who will follow you with quiet loyalty. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2674221##

Story
Pimento is a sweet, loving dog with a big personality and an even bigger heart. I adopted him because I immediately connected with his playful spirit and affectionate nature. He has been such a special companion and brings a lot of joy and character into a home. Pimento is full of life, curious, and incredibly loyal to the people he bonds with. He loves being near his person, going on walks, and relaxing together. He is also very expressive and has a funny, quirky personality that makes people laugh. I am looking for a home that can give Pimento the stability, attention, and environment where he can really thrive. Ideally this would be someone who is able to give him consistent structure and love. He would do best in a home where he can build a strong bond with his owner and have someone who understands his personality. Pimento is affectionate, loyal, spirited, and very smart. He has so much love to give and deserves a home that can match his energy and give him the care he needs.

Bluie is a happy, friendly young pup with lots of personality and energy! Like many puppies, he is still learning his manners and can be a bit mouthy at times, but it’s all part of being a playful youngster who is excited about the world around him.He does well with other dogs, though he can be a lot for some since he’s still learning appropriate play and has that classic puppy enthusiasm. A tolerant, playful dog friend or an active home that can help him burn off energy would be a great fit.Bluie is still working on his basics. He hasn’t always been the cleanest in his kennel so he may need continued help with house training as he settles into a home and routine. On walks, he sometimes grabs the leash and gets a little silly, so he currently does best walking on a harness while he continues to practice good leash manners.With some training, structure, and plenty of exercise, Bluie is going to grow into a wonderful companion. He is a sweet, affectionate pup who just needs a patient family ready to guide him through the rest of puppyhood and enjoy all the fun that comes with it.Bluie is 6 months old and weighs 25 pounds.The adoption fee for puppies under 7 months old is $300.
